The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 65: Magic Crystal that Increases Power

Hagrid patted his chest and said without hesitation: "Of course, no problem! When the dragon egg is about to hatch, I'll have Harry's owl, Hedwig, bring you a note!"

Everyone left the hut satisfied with Hagrid's promise.

Not long after Irina and the others left, a figure suddenly appeared outside Hagrid's hut. The owner of the figure knocked on the door of the hut.

"Who's there?!"

Came Hagrid's watchful voice. Irina and the others had just left. It was clear that it wasn't them coming back, and no one else should know about the fire dragon.

"It's me, Lynn Rolle, we met last year!"

Lynn said calmly.

After a moment, the door of the hut opened, and Hagrid peeked out to look at Lynn.

"Is it you? Mr. Rolle? I wonder what you want to see me about?"

Hagrid asked.

He remembered this student; he was on the same boat when they welcomed the new students last year. In Hagrid's impression, this was a kid with strong magical talent. He had even praised him before.

Lynn spoke softly: "Hello, Mr. Hagrid, I heard you have a fire dragon egg and plan to incubate it."

Upon hearing this, Hagrid suddenly panicked. How did this kid find out about this?!

"No, you must have been misinformed. There's no such thing!" Hagrid denied.

"Please, don't deny it so quickly, Mr. Hagrid," Lynn said with an indifferent expression. He slightly raised his right hand, and a square piece of iron with a side of half a meter appeared in his hand. "I'm an alchemist. I have produced an alchemical product that can perfectly simulate the flame environment needed for a fire dragon's hatching."

As he spoke, Lynn injected magical power into the square piece of iron, and a ball of magical flame rose from its surface. It looked very intimidating, but it wasn't too hot.

Seeing this, Hagrid's eyes lit up.

From Lynn's words, Hagrid realized Lynn's kind intentions. After thinking for a moment, he invited Lynn into the hut and prepared a cup of tea.

Lynn looked at the dragon eggs in the fireplace and said: "I'm willing to give Mr. Hagrid this alchemical product. Additionally, I can provide a space for the young dragons to grow. It's an interior space equivalent to 'the suitcase,' and this suitcase is enchanted with alchemy of materials instead of the elastic invisible enchantment, so it does not violate the Ministry of Magic's laws."

The alchemical set Lynn used to refine the suitcase came from the Mirror of Erised's storage set. After Lynn removed the alchemical runes in the alchemical set that could freeze time for objects, its effect was equivalent to Newt's suitcase, enchanted with a powerful stretching spell.

Of course, in order for the space inside the suitcase to allow living creatures to survive and stabilize, Lynn also added many alchemical circles he had learned in Nicolas Flamel's hut.

Although Nicolas Flamel mainly taught Lynn about alchemy in the alchemy of materials system, alchemy has certain shared principles, and Lynn is an alchemist who practices both the formation system and the alchemy of materials system. So when Flamel explained certain principles, it was inevitable that he mentioned how the formation system's alchemy could achieve the same goal.

"Really? Thank you very much, Mr. Rolle! You're such a good guy!"

Upon hearing Lynn's words, Hagrid was filled with joy. He hadn't expected that such a good person existed in the world.

But at that moment, Lynn spoke again.

"But..." Lynn's voice made Hagrid's heart skip a beat, "You know, as an alchemist, alchemy is about equal exchange."

Looking into Lynn's calm eyes, Hagrid felt nervous for no reason: "So, what do you want in return?"

Lynn spoke softly: "Some materials from precious magical creatures, such as unicorn horns and feathers. Also, after this fire dragon hatches, I will need a tube of its blood!"

With that, Lynn pulled a 100 ml syringe out of his sleeve.

After learning the alchemy of materials from Nicolas Flamel and understanding how to combine both the formation system and alchemy of materials, Lynn planned to refine an item that would enhance his combat strength—a product resembling the Infinity Gauntlet from the movie.

Through alchemy of materials refinement, the body of the gauntlet could be made with magical power, and the alchemical circle from the formation system would allow the gauntlet to absorb the power from each gem, amplifying the user's strength.

Of course, this alchemical product didn't necessarily have to resemble a gauntlet—after all, that appearance was too low-key.

Before that, Lynn planned to create power gems for amplification.

As to why it's a power gem, it's because the alchemy book from Nicolas Flamel contains records about the method of refining magical crystals that can amplify power, so Lynn didn't need to spend energy on this plan.

The raw materials required to refine this alchemy of materials product include enough magical power, gem or crystal carriers, and symbols of power.

The first two raw materials were easily available to Lynn, and for the third, the symbol of power, Lynn thought that the blood of the fire dragon would be ideal.

In Lynn's opinion, the fire dragon could definitely be seen as a representative of power. However, only a living fire dragon could represent true power. Therefore, dragon blood from a dead fire dragon in the market wouldn't meet Lynn's needs. Only fresh fire dragon blood could be considered a symbol of strength.

That's why Lynn needed the blood of this young dragon.

A hundred milliliters of blood wouldn't be a significant burden for a fire dragon, even a newborn one, and the generous reward Lynn offered made it hard for Hagrid to refuse.

After a moment of hesitation, Hagrid agreed: "Yes, but you mustn't harm it!"

Only then did Lynn smile. He bowed to Hagrid, left the square piece of iron and a suitcase he had summoned from nowhere, and left the hut.

Now that he had Hagrid's permission, Lynn naturally needed to start preparing for the alchemy.

Of course, Lynn planned to refine this magical power-enhancing crystal before returning to Rohr Manor. After all, there were only two months left before the final exams, and the threat of Quirrell hadn't been eliminated yet, so Lynn had to prepare raw materials and alchemical knowledge in advance.

As for how to preserve the fire dragon's blood after extracting it, Lynn believed that an alchemical circle like the Mirror of Erised, which could freeze the time of stored objects, was the perfect solution.

"It's almost the end of the semester, so I'm really busy!"

Lynn rubbed his brow. What worried him wasn't the easy final exam, but a certain Dark Lord lurking in the shadows, ready to make a move.
