Chapter 217: The Terrifying Purgatory Demon Golem
After enjoying breakfast, Lynn and Irina wanted to greet Mr. Foley, but Irving told them that Mr. Foley had left Foley Manor more than an hour ago. They reluctantly gave up and asked Irving for a place to practice magic.
Unlike the training ground that Lynn had set up behind Rolle Castle, the fourth floor of Foley Castle itself was a venue dedicated to practicing magic and combat.
When Lynn and Irina arrived at the fourth floor, they found that a powerful traceless extension charm seemed to have been cast here. The size of this floor was comparable to the small world in Newt's suitcase!
"This is the training ground of Foley Castle. The ground has the ability to self-repair. You can do whatever you like here," Irving said with a smile.
In fact, although this venue could repair itself, a flame like Fiendfyre, which could devour everything, could completely destroy this place. After all, the speed at which Fiendfyre destroys the venue is much faster than the speed at which the venue can repair itself.
Otherwise, places like the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts Castle wouldn't have been destroyed by an uncontrolled Fiendfyre in the original books.
However, Irving didn't remind them of this. In his opinion, with Lynn's powerful control over fire, even if Fiendfyre raged throughout the entire training ground, Lynn would be able to extinguish it in an instant.
After bringing Lynn and Irina to the training ground, Irving found a corner and, using the castle's own magic, summoned several training dummies to practice his own magic.
Seeing this, Lynn and Irina exchanged glances and each found a place to practice the ancient magic they had just encountered the day before.
In this training ground, which was comparable in size to Newt's suitcase world, let alone Lynn, Irina, and Irving— even an entire classroom of young witches and wizards from Hogwarts Castle could not fill the space.
Just like that, three days passed in the blink of an eye.
During these three days of practice, all three made substantial progress in their areas of study.
Lynn was seen chanting a deep and obscure incantation softly. The next moment, the temperature around him seemed to drop by more than ten degrees, and a ray of magic flashing with a gray light appeared at the tip of his wand.
This strange gray magic seemed to come from the god of death, exuding an aura of deathly silence. A heavy and oppressive force emanated from this magic.
Lynn did not stop his movements. As a thought crossed his mind, a ball of red flame appeared before him. The flame seemed to be compressed toward the center by a great force.
Soon, the flame, originally the size of a small house, was compressed down to the size of a desk.
Lynn raised his left hand slightly, and the compressed ball of magic flame instantly twisted and transformed into a human shape. This body was made entirely of fire, with healthy limbs, but its face was blank, without any features.
Seeing this, Lynn's right hand, still holding his wand, shook lightly, and a ray of hellish magic was thrown into the human-shaped body made of fire.
Accompanied by a series of "crackling" sounds, the body seemed to be injected with a soul and stood up on its own.
The magic from hell spread throughout the fiery body, causing various changes as it did.
A pitch-black mask appeared over the featureless face, resembling the face of a devil. The flaming body, now wearing the mask, gave off an aura of ferocity.
Additionally, a set of pitch-black armor, a matching cloak, and an unshaped weapon still in the form of black mist appeared in the hands of the flaming body.
Lynn looked at the black mist in its hands and thought for a moment. Then he tapped the mist with his wand.
The black mist swiftly transformed into a black sword, covered with red lines, which the flaming body gripped tightly.
Once this flaming body had its weapon, it seemed to have fulfilled its purpose. Two blue flames ignited in its empty eye sockets, exuding an eerie and soul-chilling aura through the black mask.
At this point, the Purgatory Demon Puppet could be considered a complete success.
The Purgatory Demon Puppet stood before Lynn, holding the large sword. Its dark blue eyes made it appear particularly cold.
As its master, Lynn could feel the emotions of loyalty and closeness emanating from it.
Looking at his creation, Lynn smiled in satisfaction.
He waved his wand again, and a wooden board on the ground was transformed into a solid steel block the size of a refrigerator.
"Chop it!" Lynn ordered calmly.
The Purgatory Demon Puppet immediately carried out Lynn's command. It swung the large sword in its hand and struck the steel block.
Red flames burned along the sword, and the intense heat distorted the surrounding air. The black sword, now resembling a blade of flame, chopped through the steel block Lynn had transformed with Transfiguration magic, cutting with the power to sever anything.
Under the extreme temperature, the steel block was continuously melted by the intense blow from the flaming sword.
In less than a second, the block of steel was split into two. At the cut of the steel block, Lynn could still see the white mist from the evaporated water and the molten steel flowing on the steel.
Not even a wizard could withstand that—let alone a future warrior. They would be sliced in half by the Purgatory Demon Puppet!
"Assume your defensive stance!"
Lynn commanded, his tone calm.
As Lynn's voice faded, a faint blue flame flickered in the Purgatory Demon Puppet's eyes. It immediately took half a step back, holding the sword across its body.
The scarlet magic flame, still compressed to its limit, transformed into a circular magic barrier to protect the Purgatory Demon Puppet's body.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Without hesitation, Lynn pulled out his Desert Eagle from his pocket and fired three shots at the Purgatory Demon Puppet.
However, none of these three bullets could pierce the flame barrier. They were instantly melted into molten iron by the extreme heat.
