The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 136: Is that so, But I don’t think so!

Irina obediently nodded and took out the two-way mirror again.

Unlike the previous two times, this time the "hiss" emitted by the mirror was longer, and the strange hiss echoed through the plaza, making the surrounding area feel even more eerie.

If these hissing words were translated into human language, their meaning would be: Speak to me, Slytherin, the greatest of the four founders of Hogwarts.

When Harry's voice stopped echoing in the mirror, the massive Slytherin statue began to move, and the mouth on Slytherin's face opened wider, eventually forming a giant hole.

Lynn and Irina could clearly see something moving inside the mouth of the Slytherin statue, and they heard a creaking sound, as if something was sliding up from the depths of the statue.

Lynn waved his wand, and ten alchemical circles were activated instantly, while Irina raised her wand, ready for any monster that might emerge from the Slytherin statue.

Soon, a massive object fell from Slytherin's mouth, and when it hit the ground, it shook the entire small plaza.

The giant that appeared was, of course, the basilisk from the Chamber of Secrets. This basilisk appeared to be over ten meters long, and the diameter of its massive serpent body was likely greater than Lynn's height. It turned to look at Lynn and Irina.

As they gazed at the basilisk, Lynn and Irina felt an enormous force heading toward them, as if it wanted to end them in an instant.

However, the alchemy contact lenses worn by both of them released a gentle energy at the same time, blocking the basilisk's strange power, preventing it from harming them.

"Do it!"

Lynn shouted softly, and as he waved his wand, the ten alchemical formations simultaneously fired golden beams of light at the basilisk.

With the power of the philosofer's Stone, each alchemical formation could emit more than thirty golden rays per second. When these ten alchemical formations were functioning at the same time, they could fire more than three hundred rays at the basilisk every second!

Dingxingcangcang!

Countless golden rays struck the basilisk's body in an instant, causing sparks to fly. The basilisk's serpent scales not only had extremely high magical resistance but even physical damage could hardly break through its defenses.

Each golden ray that hit the basilisk only left a white mark on its surface, but it could not inflict any serious damage.

After all, a single golden ray could blow off the head of a giant monster with considerable magical resistance!

However, even though a single golden ray could not break through the basilisk's defenses, the cumulative effect of more than three hundred golden rays bombarding it every second slowly wore down the basilisk's scales.

As the saying goes, water can wear through stone, and certainly, a golden ray with lethal power could cause damage!

When Lynn manipulated these alchemical circles to attack the basilisk, in order to maximize the effectiveness of penetrating the serpent scales, he aimed at the same part of the basilisk's body.

In less than three minutes, a bloodstain appeared on the basilisk's body, and the dense golden rays broke through its defenses one after another, causing trauma to its body.

Hiss...

Feeling the pain radiating from its body, the basilisk roared angrily and lunged toward the two of them.

"Spread out!" Irina whispered, rolling to the right to avoid the basilisk's attack.

Lynn had already reacted the moment the basilisk moved. As he dodged to the left, he also cast a Crushing Curse at the basilisk's wound.

Irina, on the other side, raised her wand to defend herself, casting a Silent Freezing Charm at the basilisk.

Unfortunately, the basilisk's magical resistance was too high, making Irina's freezing charm completely ineffective.

The two kept retreating, running around the stone pillars in the small plaza, while the basilisk kept chasing them, opening its massive mouth, trying to bite them.

"Shatter!"

Seeing the basilisk open its huge mouth, Irina cast a Cutting Curse without hesitation.

A gray beam of light shot down from the sky, piercing the roof of the basilisk's mouth and tearing through its flesh and blood. Countless foul-smelling blood flowed from the basilisk's fangs.

The inside of the basilisk's mouth was unprotected by serpent scales, allowing Irina's magical spell to easily cut through the basilisk's flesh when it struck the upper jaw.

Every creature has its weaknesses, and the basilisk was no different. Its body had extremely high magical and physical resistance on its exterior, but its internal organs were fragile. Otherwise, Harry wouldn't have been able to slay the basilisk with a single sword in the original book.

After Irina's spell wounded the basilisk, Lynn looked at her thoughtfully, then waved his wand gently.

The ten alchemical formations simultaneously changed their attack directions. They no longer targeted the basilisk's previous wounds, but instead shot toward the basilisk's two yellow eyes.

Lynn and Irina wore alchemy contact lenses that were immune to the basilisk's death magic and petrification magic. This made the basilisk's eyes no longer a threat to them, which is why Lynn hadn't attacked the basilisk's eyes earlier.

However, now that they discovered attacking from the inside of the basilisk's body could yield miraculous results, the basilisk's eyes became the best target.

After all, the most vulnerable part of the basilisk wasn't just its mouth, but also its eye sockets!

Lynn could inflict more damage on the basilisk through its eye sockets!

In less than a breath, the basilisk's two yellow eyes were struck by the alchemical formations' rays. The eye sockets, which once held bulbous eyes, were now hollowed out, and a large amount of black blood poured from the basilisk's eyes, staining the ground with a layer of red and black blood.

The basilisk seemed to have been severely traumatized. It neighed, and its entire serpent body kept writhing and struggling. A massive amount of black blood flowed as the basilisk thrashed about.

"It looks like we can kill this beast even without using our trump cards."

Seeing that the basilisk was gradually losing its ability to resist, Lynn removed five of the alchemical formations and said calmly.

Irina also smiled. The basilisk was being hit hard, and victory seemed within their grasp.

"Really? I don't think so."

But just as they were feeling happy, a chilling voice sounded behind them.

Lynn and Irina quickly turned around, their expressions becoming wary.

They saw a young witch in a Gryffindor wizard robe walking slowly from the entrance of the plaza. She had a strange smile on her face, with the corners of her mouth slightly raised, but what truly made Lynn and Irina suspicious was the diary she was holding in her arms!
