The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 135: Slytherin's Statue, the Final Battle with the Basilisk

The pipe leading to the secret chamber didn't seem to be designed for humans. As Lynn and Irina slid down the pipe, it felt like they were running down an endless, dark, sticky slide.

As they slid down, they could see many pipes branching out in all directions, but none were as thick as the one they were in.

The pipe they were in twisted and turned many times along the way. It was unclear how much time passed before they both landed on the ground.

The pipe, which had been almost vertical, became horizontal, and Lynn and Irina were launched from its mouth.

They both simultaneously waved their wands and cast a Levitation Charm on themselves, allowing them to land steadily on the damp floor.

"Ah!"

Lynn raised his left hand, and a ball of fire appeared from his palm, illuminating the area around them.

They were in a wide stone tunnel, large enough to fit four or five people walking side by side.

The surroundings were very dark and damp, with both the floor and the surrounding stone walls wet.

"Watch your step!"

Lynn whispered. "The ground here is very slippery, you could fall even if you're not careful."

Irina nodded slightly and walked forward with Lynn.

After taking a few steps, they discovered that the ground was covered in bones from various small animals. These bones were likely the remnants of prey left behind by the basilisk over the years.

Irina carefully walked, trying not to step on any of the animal bones on the floor.

After turning a corner, Lynn and Irina stopped simultaneously.

Under the light of the flame in Lynn's hand, a huge snake skin appeared in their field of vision.

This was a massive snake skin. The surface of the skin had a strange green glow. It lay on the stone tunnel floor, and from this skin alone, Lynn and Irina could deduce that the basilisk it came from was at least ten meters long.

"This is a very good alchemy material, wait a moment," Lynn said, raising his hand as the Mithril slicing knife appeared in his palm.

This snake skin was an extremely precious material both in the field of material alchemy and matrix alchemy.

In matrix alchemy, this snake skin had extremely high physical and magical resistance. Whether it was used to create alchemical leather armor or other defensive alchemical products, Lynn didn't need to engrave other defensive alchemy sets on it, as its defensive power was already comparable to that of defensive alchemical products made by famous alchemists.

As for the field of material alchemy, as mentioned before, material alchemy could unreasonably extract certain special properties from materials, or even properties with symbolic meaning contained in the materials. Therefore, if Lynn used this basilisk-shed snake skin as raw material for magical alchemy, the resulting product would likely inherit the basilisk's petrifying magic and death magic.

This was a terrifying ability, comparable to the Avada Kedavra curse!

Lynn continued to wave the slicing knife, cutting the enormous basilisk's shed snake skin into dozens of equal parts, which he then stored in his bag.

After doing this, Lynn nodded to Irina and motioned for her to continue.

After passing the enormous basilisk skin, they made countless turns and finally encountered a solid wall blocking their path.

On the stone wall were two entwined serpents carved, and the eyes of these serpents were actually embedded with crystal-clear emeralds.

Before Lynn could speak, Irina stepped forward and once again used the two-way mirror to replay the word "open" spoken by Harry in Parseltongue.

"Hiss..."

A strange sound echoed, and the two entwined serpents on the stone wall separated. The wall cracked down the middle and slowly slid to both sides, disappearing.

After passing through this stone wall, the space ahead suddenly became clear.

Lynn and Irina found themselves in a vast, dark plaza, and in the plaza were many imposing stone pillars carved with entwined serpents. These stone pillars supported the top of the plaza.

Lynn and Irina slightly bowed at the same time, listening carefully to the sounds around them.

However, there were no sounds except for the hollow, loud echoes created by their footsteps in the ghostly plaza.

Not long after, Lynn and Irina reached the end of the plaza. As they were parallel to the last pair of stone pillars, an enormous statue, tall enough to hold up the top of the plaza, suddenly appeared before them.

Looking up, they saw a huge face, old and monkey-like, with a sparse but long beard that nearly reached the hem of the statue's wizard's robe, and two large gray feet standing on the floor of the plaza. The feet alone were taller than both Lynn and Irina.

There was no doubt that the owner of this statue was one of the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry—Salazar Slytherin!

They realized that the cursed basilisk was behind the statue of Slytherin, but what stood before them was the great wizard Slytherin, who had accomplished something as monumental as founding the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The two stood silently, gazing at the enormous statue of Slytherin.

They didn't know how much time passed, but then Lynn suddenly moved.

As he waved his hands, countless golden threads intertwined in the air, gradually transforming into alchemical formations.

In less than five minutes, three alchemical formations were refined and suspended around Lynn.

Though the number of alchemy circles had reached the upper limit of Lynn's daily usage, he did not stop his movements. More alchemical circles continued to form around him as he waved his hands.

Lynn's right arm radiated massive magical waves. It was clear that he was using the power of the Anti-Magic Scepter to absorb the power of the Anti-Magic Stone. The enormous magical power that supported the formation of the alchemical circles was also provided by the Anti-Magic Stone.

When the number of alchemical circles around Lynn reached ten, he stopped his movements, and his right arm trembled slightly.

At this moment, the magical power flowing through Lynn's body was infinitely close to the limit of his body. His body acted like a massive wand, absorbing the power of the Anti-Magic Stone to maintain the operation of these alchemical circles.

"It seems we've reached the limit!"

Lynn felt his body, and as he absorbed the magical power from the Anti-Magic Stone at full strength, maintaining ten alchemical circles at the same time was already his limit.

"Let's do it!"

Lynn nodded slightly to Irina and said.
