The Extra Prince Sets Out To Conquer The World

Chapter 26 - When a Rumor Becomes a Dagger (1)

Precia shouted at me.

“You’re doing great!”

“No, I don’t think I’m doing great.”

Precia encouraged me as I tried hard to maintain balance while riding the horse, and Horazon, her teacher standing next to her, let out a sigh.

“Prince, you’re too tense. If your body stiffens, you won’t be able to react nimbly. Relax!”

At Horazon’s nagging, I carefully answered, trying not to bite my tongue.

“I, I’m also, whoa! Try, whoa! Trying!”

I groaned and made efforts not to fall each time the horse jumped over obstacles.

As expected, the teachings of these two were crazy.

Making someone ride a horse for the first time and suddenly having them go through an obstacle course!

Fortunately, the horse wasn’t moving too fast. If I had to showcase equestrian skills while making the horse run at full speed as Precia demonstrated, I would have fallen dozens of times.

“Isn’t that course something you rode with ease when you were five?”

When Horazon asked for agreement, Precia agreed with a serious expression.

“Rather, being young and not getting scared might have made it easier.”

“Hmm, are you saying he missed the good time to learn? That makes sense. Then we should make it more rigorous.”

The two nodded in unison and looked at me.

S-Save me!

After enduring on the horse in a dazed state for a long time, I finally got off.

“I, I thought I was going to die.”

I grabbed my trembling legs and supported myself with one hand on the ground.

I was stupid to ask Precia to teach me when I had time, for the sake of the future.

“Are you okay? It’s been a while since the prince asked me to teach him something, so I was so happy that I…”

Precia hesitated, looking at me trembling like a newborn calf.

The teaching Precia was talking about was when she taught swordsmanship to Prince Yuan right after becoming his knight.

In the novel, Precia recalled that the physically weak Yuan had to stop training after suffering from muscle pain for days after just one day.

“No, it’s fine. I’ll feel better soon.”

Even if it’s not riding a horse, I needed to learn to ride something for the future.

I muttered while being supported by Precia.

“Oh, my butt… I should never learn swordsmanship…”

If learning just horseback riding, which wasn’t my specialty, was a near-death experience, I was afraid of what kind of hell I would experience if I tried to learn swordsmanship.

“No way, Prince, you’re being too much.”

Perhaps she was planning to persuade me to let her teach swordsmanship later, but Precia looked really dejected.

I smiled at her lifelessly.

“Ah. Ha. Ha. Ha. No, not at all.”

I looked up at the sky after speaking firmly.

As winter was coming to an end, the temperature had become quite mild. I wondered if Abassael, who left with Yard, was doing well.

It had already been about three days since Abassael left to regain his freedom.

Before he left, I brought him to the palace through a secret passage and gave him a knight appointment and an identification badge as a knight under the direct command of the royal family, which the 1st Prince could bestow.

We did have a tearful farewell, but it was quite awkward coming to the palace together since we originally had no plans to part that day.

I packed living expenses and self-defense items that I had to give him anyway in a space-expanding bag I received from Boutique.

“This afternoon, we’re going out.”

When I whispered in Precia’s ear, she nodded.

Now I had to take care of Gilbert and his younger sister and find Dibet’s granddaughter.

Also, if I had time, I wanted to visit the capital branch of the Neslic Merchant Association, one of the five major merchant associations, but I didn’t have enough time because I couldn’t stop roaming the palace.

The palace tour was a kind of fishing.

I had to keep scattering bait with patience until I got a bite.

I wondered when the Queen’s patience would run out.

“Sigh, I wish I had two bodies.”

As I joked and bantered with Precia, a noisy sound was heard from the entrance of the training ground.

“What is the meaning of this?! Sir Horazon!”

“No, it’s a misunderstanding.”

Wondering what was going on, I looked towards the entrance and saw a blond boy with an unpleasant impression arguing with Horazon while accompanied by escort knights.

“Why are you teaching that lowly one while not taking care of my swordsmanship!”

“I’ll say it again, it’s a misunderstanding, Prince Yubaha. I have never seen Prince Yuan’s swordsmanship.”

Prince Yubaha, the 2nd Prince, had a red face as if he didn’t believe Horazon’s words.

“Don’t lie! I know that idiot has been stamping his feet in the training ground of the Knights of the Golden Lion for more than a week now!”

The immature kid’s tantrum was an unpleasant sight.

The Queen spoiled him rotten, so the kid’s personality turned out like that. No, was that personality from the Queen’s genes?

That moron had built a wall against studying and liked to hang out with knights and learn swordsmanship.

It must have been a headache for the Queen who wanted to raise him into a great king.

Still, she seemed to cherish him to the extent of gifting him a dwarf-made sword for his birthday.

I clicked my tongue and shook my head, and Precia spoke in a small whisper.

“Prince, there’s a back door to the training ground over there.”

Certainly, if we ran into him, it would be bothersome… Wait, I could make use of that bastard.

As I smiled, Precia looked at me with a slightly anxious expression.

“What scheme are you up to again?”

“What scheme? It seems like there’s not much trust between us, making me feel sad. We’re just brothers who can also build a friendship, you know?”

I smiled and headed towards the 2nd Prince and Horazon, in the opposite direction of where Precia pointed.

“Haa… Of course.”

Precia followed behind me, holding her forehead as if she had a headache.

“Sir Horazon, you must be having a hard time.”

When I spoke with a smile that looked as weak as possible, Horazon looked at me as if asking why I came here of all places.

Seeing me walking from inside the training ground, Yubaha pointed at me with a red face.

“Look! Isn’t that idiot coming out from inside! Will you still claim it’s a misunderstanding?!”

At Yubaha’s stupid remark, Horazon made a troubled expression.

I put on a gentle smile and spoke as if admonishing.

“Yubaha, Sir Horazon is a busy person. You should know that throwing a tantrum like that won’t work, right?”

When Yubaha looked at me, I timed it to raise one corner of my mouth and gave a condescending look, then changed back to a gentle expression.

“You…!”

Yubaha, who was already agitated, seemed to have completely lost his mind at my momentary expression.

“How dare a fool like you lecture me?! All you can do is whine and cry!”

Simple kid, losing his reason with just this level of provocation.

If he had even a bit of political sense, he would know that I was the person he should avoid confronting the most right now, but he was an untaught brat.

Puhahaha! The Queen completely ruined her child’s education, didn’t she?

Contrary to my inner thoughts, I made a sad expression and spoke in a gentle voice.

“Little brother, calm down. You should maintain your dignity as a prince.”

And I slightly raised the corner of my mouth so only Yubaha could see.

To the surrounding knights and guards, my words would sound at most like talking about the virtues a prince should have, but to Yubaha, it would sound like this:

‘You uneducated bastard! Please maintain some dignity!’

Of course, my intention was the latter rather than the former, so the meaning Yubaha heard was correct.

“Wh-What?! Maintain what? You stupid bastard!”

Yes! Get angry like that! It would be great if you even slap me! It’s not often you get a chance to hit me, right?

However, contrary to my expectations, Yubaha’s attendant stopped Yubaha, who was about to raise his fist.

“Prince! Please calm down! Sir Horazon is also watching.”

At the attendant’s dissuasion, Yubaha lowered his fist and glanced at Horazon.

He seemed to know that even if raising his voice was fine since he was in a position to ask for Horazon’s teachings, getting into a fight was not good.

To easily stop that hot-tempered one, the attendant seemed quite capable.

“Prince, now is not the time…”

“Yes! I’m glad you seem to have calmed down!”

I interrupted the attendant who was trying to take Yubaha away from there and slowly irritated Yubaha’s nerves.

I didn’t want it to end with just a verbal argument.

“But Yubaha, even if you’re one of the princes, this is a military facility. It’s not good to set foot here without the permission of the facility manager.”

I started lecturing as if I was a superior admonishing him.

The training ground where we were located was inside the barracks of the royal guards within the palace.

What I said was seemingly a righteous argument, but the intended meaning was this:

‘I got permission from Horazon, the manager, but you didn’t. In other words, I’m receiving teachings from Horazon, but you’re not.’

He seemed to have a basic functioning brain as he understood the meaning of my words.

His face turned red and he alternately looked at me and Horazon. Then he shouted at Horazon.

“What makes me inferior to that guy that he can but I can’t?!”

The agitated Yubaha lost his reason and blurted out words he shouldn’t have said.

“Isn’t that guy a pathetic one who hangs around with a girl, calling her a knight?!”

Oh no, he just had to touch on Precia, whom Horazon cherished like a daughter.

Stupid kid, even if it may look like that on the surface, you should speak while considering the other person.

The relationship between the two was a secret known to everyone who knew, so the surrounding knights turned pale.

Horazon’s expression momentarily hardened, but the 2nd Prince didn’t seem to notice and continued.

“Someone like that doesn’t deserve to receive Sir Horazon’s teachings! Rather than teaching a bastard like that, please teach me!”

At Yubaha’s request, Horazon managed to control his expression and said:

“I apologize. I will not teach anyone.”

Judging by his low voice, one could tell how angry he was, but that muscle-head didn’t seem to know and tried to approach Horazon again to make a request.

I slightly covered my mouth with my hand and made a sound just loud enough for the 2nd Prince to hear.

“Heh!”

At the sound of my small laughter, Yubaha looked at me, and I slightly moved my hand to show a mocking smile.

No further provocation was needed.

Seeing my mockery, the 2nd Prince swung his fist at me before his attendant could stop him.

As the fist flew towards my face, Precia and Horazon reacted to try and block it.

However, I gestured to Precia to stay still while slightly shaking my head so the sharp-eyed Horazon could notice.

At my signal, the two stopped, and Yubaha’s fist swung between them. I pulled my head back to mitigate the impact and intentionally fell on my butt.

In the fleeting moment of falling, I checked my surroundings.

There were twelve knights, about twenty soldiers as witnesses and six attendants passing by in the distance.

Good, there are enough witnesses.

“Prince!”

“Are you alright?”

Precia and Horazon bent down to support me as I fell.

I grabbed Horazon’s arm and whispered in his ear.

“This is the King’s will, so don’t issue a gag order.”

Leaving behind Horazon’s surprised face, I made a sorrowful expression with tears.

“Ah~! Little brother! Today is the day I go out!”

At my words, everyone around was surprised and looked at the 2nd Prince.

Yubaha looked at me as if asking what nonsense I was spouting, not understanding what I meant.

In the first place, the 2nd Prince looked down on the 1st Prince but didn’t have enough interest to go and use violence against him, so from his perspective, where his head was elsewhere, it was a natural reaction.

On the other hand, the 2nd Prince’s attendant turned pale.
