The Domineering Female CEO

Chapter 39: chapter 39

Why didn't you reply my test Xavier McKinney?Eliana asked.

"I'm so sorry, Eliana," I replied, taking her hands in mine. "I got caught up in the movie meeting and rehearsal. I didn't mean to ignore you. But that's no excuse. I should have at least sent you a message."

Eliana's expression softened slightly, but her eyes still held a hint of hurt. I could understand why – my silence had probably caused her a lot of worry and uncertainty.

"I was starting to think you'd forgotten about me," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Royalty's POV:

I raised an eyebrow at Tiana and Rubby, giving them a disdainful look. "You two are something else," I said, shaking my head.

Tiana and Rubby exchanged a nervous glance, clearly intimidated by my expression. They knew better than to mess with me.

Elvis, who had been standing beside me, chuckled and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Thanks for understanding, babe," he said, giving me a squeeze.

I smiled up at him, feeling a sense of satisfaction. "Anytime, Elvis. Now, let's get out of here before things get any more dramatic."

Elvis grinned, and we turned to leave, with Xavier and Eliana following close behind. As we walked away, I could feel Tiana and Rubby's eyes on us, but I didn't bother to look back.

Tiana's POV:

Rubby and I exchanged a frustrated glance as we watched Elvis, Royalty, Xavier, and Eliana walk away. Our plan to cause tension and drama had backfired, and now we looked like fools.

Rubby spoke up, her voice low and annoyed. "This isn't over. We'll find another way to get what we want."

I nodded in agreement, my mind already racing with new schemes and ideas. We wouldn't give up easily. We would keep pushing until we got what we wanted.

Eliana's POV:

As we walked away from Tiana and Rubby, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. The situation could have escalated, but thankfully, Xavier and Elvis had handled it well.

I glanced up at Xavier, who was walking beside me. He smiled and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me close.

"Sorry again for not replying to your text," he said, his voice low and gentle.

I smiled, feeling a sense of forgiveness. "It's okay. I know you're busy."

We walked in comfortable silence for a moment, enjoying each other's company. Then, Royalty spoke up.

"Hey, guys? Let's grab some dinner. I'm starving!"

Elvis chuckled. "You're always starving, Royalty."

We all laughed, and the tension from earlier dissipated. As we walked towards the restaurant, I felt grateful for my friends and the love of my life, Xavier.

Royalty's POV:

I turned to Elvis, curiosity getting the better of me. "So, Elvis, which country are you guys traveling to for the movie project?" I asked.

Elvis smiled. "We're actually going to be filming in Sky City."

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. Eliana and I exchanged a stunned glance, our eyes wide with shock.

"What?!" Eliana exclaimed, her voice barely above a whisper. "Sky City? Wow!"

Xavier noticed our reactions and frowned, concern etched on his face. "Anything wrong, babe?" he asked Eliana, who shook her head, still looking shell-shocked.

I took a deep breath, trying to process this unexpected revelation. "Eliana and I actually moved here from Sky City," I explained, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil brewing inside me.

Elvis's eyes widened in surprise. "No way! What a small world!"

Xavier nodded thoughtfully. "See, babe, why don't we just get married in Sky City? It's a beautiful place, and I'm sure it holds a lot of special memories for you."

Eliana's eyes sparkled as she looked up at him. "Actually, that's where I had in mind already, babe. I just haven't told you yet."

Xavier's face lit up with a warm smile. "Really? I'm glad we're on the same page."

Eliana's expression turned serious, and she took a deep breath. "There's another reason why I want to get married in Sky City. The board of directors needs to be present to witness my marriage. It's a requirement for me to take over my father's company."

Xavier's eyes narrowed slightly, and he nodded thoughtfully. "I understand. We'll make sure to arrange everything accordingly."
