Chapter 37: chapter 37
Elianas's POV
After finishing dinner with Xavier and my younger brother Jason, Jason went to bed. Xavier told me he was heading back home, and I decided to see him off.
As we stood at the door, Xavier's eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a flutter in my chest. "I'll talk to you soon, okay?" he whispered, his voice low and gentle.
I nodded, my heart racing.
Here is a revised version of the continuation:
Xavier's POV:
I walked into my house, and Elvis was waiting for me with a frown.
"Hey, man, what's up?" I asked.
Elvis's expression turned serious. "What's gotten into you, man? Why are you letting Eliana treat you this way?"
I felt a surge of anger at his words. "What are you talking about?" I asked, trying to keep my cool.
But Elvis just shook his head. "You're not the same guy I used to know, Xavier. You're always canceling plans, and when we do hang out, you're distant. Acting all submissive what's going on?"
I clenched my fists, feeling my anger rise to the surface. "You don't know what you're talking about, Elvis," I said, my voice low and menacing.
Elvis took a step back, his eyes widening in surprise. "Whoa, calm down, Xavier. I'm just trying to help."
I stood tall, my eyes locked on Elvis's. "Look, Elvis, I love Eliana so much, and nothing else matters. I went after her myself, so please respect that. I'm going to go ahead with the plans of becoming her contract husband."
Elvis's expression softened slightly, but he still looked concerned. "Xavier, are you sure about this? You're talking about a contract marriage, not a real one. Are you prepared for what that means?"
"I'm positive, Elvis," I said firmly. "I know what I'm getting myself into. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make Eliana happy."
Elvis sighed, shaking his head. "You're really willing to sacrifice your own happiness for her, aren't you?"
I nodded, my jaw set. "I'd do anything for Eliana. She's the only one who's ever truly understood me."
Elvis looked at me with a mixture of concern and admiration. "You're a better man than I am, Xavier. I don't know if I could ever make a sacrifice like that."
I smiled wryly. "You don't have to, Elvis. This is my choice, and I'm willing to live with the consequences."
Elvis nodded slowly, seeming to accept my decision. "Alright, Xavier. If this is what you really want, I'll support you. But promise me one thing."
I raised an eyebrow, curious. "What's that?"
Elvis's expression turned serious. "Promise me you'll take care of yourself, too. Don't lose yourself in this contract marriage. You deserve to be happy, Xavier."
I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Elvis. "I promise, Elvis. I'll take care of myself. Thanks for looking out for me, man."
Elvis nodded, a small smile on his face. "That's what friends are for, Xavier. Now, go get some rest. You've got a big decision ahead of you."
I nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. I was ready to do whatever it took to make this contract marriage work. For Eliana, and for myself.
Eliana's POV:
I walked into the living room, still thinking about my conversation with Xavier earlier. He had been so charming and sweet, and I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my chest whenever he was around.
As I sat down on the couch, I noticed Royalty waiting for me. "Hey, girl," she said, her voice low and conspiratorial. "I've been waiting for you. We need to talk."
I raised an eyebrow, curiosity getting the better of me. "What's going on, Royalty? You look like you've got some juicy gossip."
Royalty leaned in, a sly smile spreading across her face. "I do, girl. And it's about Xavier."
Royalty's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I know Xavier's really into you, Eliana. But I have to ask, do you feel the same way about him?"
I looked at Royalty, a genuine smile spreading across my face. "Yes, I feel the same way about him," I admitted, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "I know I've been... distant, but it's only because I've been trying to protect myself. I really love Xavier, Royalty."
Royalty's expression softened, and she reached out to take my hand. "I'm glad to hear that, Eliana. You two are good for each other. But I have to ask, what made you realize your feelings for him?"
That time we stayed a whole week without calling or seeing each other.
Royalty's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "That week apart really made you realize your feelings, didn't it?" she asked gently.
I nodded, a warm smile spreading across my face. "Yes, it did. Being apart forced me to confront my emotions. I realized how much I value our connection and how much he makes me feel."
Royalty squeezed my hand reassuringly. "I'm glad you two are on the same page now. But, Eliana, I have to ask... are you prepared for the challenges that come with loving someone like Xavier?"
Eliana's POV:
I nodded confidently, a sense of determination washing over me. "Yes, I understand the challenges that come with loving someone like Xavier. As a celebrity, he's bound to attract attention and admiration from many. But I know I'm the one he loves, and that gives me the strength to handle whatever comes our way."
I was in the middle of a conversation with Royalty when my phone buzzed with an incoming message from Xavier. I excused myself to read it, and my heart skipped a beat as I saw the words on the screen.
"Hey, I've been thinking... I want to continue our contract marriage. For real this time."
I couldn't contain my excitement as I typed out a response. "Really?! Oh, Xavier! I'd love that! Thank you, baby. I love you!"
I couldn't help but squeal with excitement as I read Xavier's message. Royalty looked at me with a curious expression, "What's going on?" she asked.
I held up my phone, showing her the message. "Xavier wants to continue with our contract marriage!" I exclaimed, barely containing my joy.
Royalty's face lit up with a bright smile. "That's amazing news, Eliana! I'm so happy for you two."
I couldn't help but feel a sense of euphoria wash over me. I had been hoping for this, and now that it was finally happening, I felt like I was on cloud nine.
Xavier's POV:
I smiled to myself as I read Eliana's enthusiastic response. It was clear she was over the moon about continuing our contract marriage. I felt a warmth in my chest, knowing I'd made her so happy.
Just as I was about to respond to her message, my phone buzzed again. I glanced at the screen, and my eyes widened as I read the notification.
"New Movie Project: 'Echoes in the Night' - Starring Xavier and Elvis. Report to filming location in 2 days."
I felt a surge of excitement mixed with a hint of anxiety. This was a huge opportunity, and I knew I had to be prepared. I made a mental note to start reviewing the script and preparing for the role.
But for now, I couldn't wait to share the news with Eliana. I quickly typed out a response, trying to contain my enthusiasm.
"Hey, baby! I have some amazing news to share with you. Just got offered a new movie role with Elvis! We start filming in 2 days. Can't wait to tell you all about it. Love you!"
