Chapter 35: chapter 35
The next day, Xavier woke up to an empty bed. He lay there for a moment, his mind foggy from the events of the previous night. He slowly sat up, rubbing his temples, trying to process everything that had happened.
As he looked around the room, he noticed that Eliana's clothes were gone, and her side of the bed was neatly made. It was as if she had never been there at all.
Xavier threw off the covers and got out of bed, his body aching from the intense lovemaking of the previous night. He made his way to the bathroom, where he splashed some water on his face, trying to wake himself up.
As he looked in the mirror, he couldn't help but think about Eliana and the way she had left without a word. He felt a mix of emotions: anger, hurt, and confusion.
What did she want from him? Why did she keep pushing him away, only to pull him back in? Xavier didn't have the answers, and it was driving him crazy.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He needed to focus on what he wanted, not on what Eliana wanted from him. He needed to take control of his own life, and not let her dictate his emotions.
With a newfound sense of determination, Xavier turned off the faucet and walked out of the bathroom, ready to face whatever the day had in store for him.
Elaina's pov:
I woke up before dawn, my body aching from the intensity of our lovemaking. I lay there for a moment, watching Xavier sleep, his chest rising and falling with each breath.
I felt a pang of guilt and regret, knowing that I had hurt him again. But I couldn't help myself. I was drawn to him like a moth to flame, and I couldn't resist the passion and intensity that we shared.
I slowly got out of bed, trying not to disturb Xavier. I gathered my clothes and made my way to the bathroom, where I quickly showered and dressed.
As I looked in the mirror, I couldn't help but think about Xavier and the way he made me feel. I was torn between my love for him and my own destructive tendencies. I knew that I was hurting him, but I couldn't seem to stop myself.
I took a deep breath and tried to shake off the feelings of guilt and regret. I knew that I had to be strong, for myself and for Xavier. I couldn't keep hurting him and expecting him to stay with me.
I walked out of the bathroom and took one last look at Xavier, who was still sleeping peacefully. I felt a pang of sadness and regret, knowing that I might be losing him forever.
But I knew that I had to leave. I had to give Xavier the space he needed, and I had to figure out my own feelings and desires. I quietly closed the door behind me and walked out into the dawn, unsure of what the future held, but determined to find my way.
Royalty's pov
I was in the kitchen, making breakfast for Jason, when I saw Eliana walk in through the front door. She looked...different. Her eyes seemed haunted, and her expression was guarded.
I nodded at her, trying to be neutral. "Hey, Eliana. How's it going?"
Eliana didn't respond. Instead, she walked over to the coffee maker and poured herself a cup. Her hands were shaking slightly, and I could tell she was trying to compose herself.
Jason came into the kitchen, still dressing for school. "Big sis
!" he exclaimed, running over to Eliana.
Eliana's expression softened, and she smiled at Jason. "Hey, baby. How are you?"
Jason chattered excitedly about his day, and Eliana listened attentively, asking him questions and making supportive noises. I watched them, feeling a pang of...not jealousy, exactly, but maybe a little wistfulness. Eliana and Jason had a special bond, and it was clear that they loved each other deeply.
As Jason finished getting ready for school, Eliana walked him to the door, giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Have a great day, baby," she said.
As the door closed behind Jason, Eliana turned to me, her expression serious. "Royalty, can we talk?"
I nodded, gesturing for Eliana to take a seat at the dining table. She sat down, her eyes already welling up with tears. I took a seat across from her, my expression neutral, but my ears open.
"Eliana, what's going on?" I asked, my voice gentle.
She took a deep breath, and then it all came pouring out. Tears streamed down her face as she told me about her tumultuous relationship with Xavier, about the push-and-pull dynamic that seemed to be destroying them both.
"I don't know what's wrong with me, Royalty," she sobbed. "I love him, but I keep hurting him. And we keep coming back for more. It's like we're addicted to each other, but it's killing us."
I listened attentively, my expression empathetic. I could see the pain and the conflict in her eyes, and I knew that she was struggling to make sense of her own emotions.
"Eliana, it sounds like you're feeling really trapped and conflicted," I said gently. "But the first step to getting out of this cycle is to acknowledge that you have a problem. And it sounds like you're doing that."
Eliana nodded, her tears slowing to a trickle. "I know I have a problem, Royalty. But I don't know how to fix it. I don't know how to stop hurting Xavier, or how to stop loving him."
I reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "We'll figure it out together, Eliana. One step at a time."
Eliana's pov:
Weeks after having a heartfelt conversation with Elly The silence was suffocating. Every fiber of my being yearned for Xavier's touch, his voice, his presence. But he remained silent, a distant figure, leaving me to navigate the darkness alone.
Days blended together in a blur of emotions. I felt abandoned, unwanted, and unloved. Memories of our tumultuous relationship haunted me, the highs and lows, the passion and the pain.
I tried to occupy myself, engaging in hobbies and spending time with friends, but nothing filled the void. My mind wandered back to Xavier, wondering what he was doing, if he was thinking of me too.
The seventh day was the hardest. I couldn't take the silence anymore. I needed to know if he still cared, if there was still a chance for us. My hand trembled as I picked up my phone, my heart racing with anticipation.
But I hesitated, my finger hovering over his name. What would I say? Would he even respond? The uncertainty was crippling.
I took a deep breath, my resolve wavering. Maybe it was better to leave things as they were. Maybe some wounds were too deep to heal. With a heavy heart, I set the phone down, the silence remaining, unbroken.
But just then my phone rang it was Xavier calling,I quickly picked up
Xavier's POV
I sat in silence, my heart aching with longing. A week of no contact had been agonizing, but I knew I needed space. Yet, my love for Eliana refused to let go.
Taking a deep breath, I reached for my phone. My fingers hovered over her name, uncertainty swirling. What if she didn't answer? What if she'd moved on?
But my desire to reconnect, to understand, and to heal won. I dialed her number, my heart racing.
The phone rang twice before she picked up, her voice soft and tentative. "Hello?"
My voice caught, emotions overflowing. "Eliana, it's me."
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, I wondered if I had made a mistake. But then, Eliana's voice came through, hesitant but gentle.
"Xavier. Hi."
I closed my eyes, feeling a rush of emotions. Hearing her voice was like a punch to the gut, bringing back all the memories, the pain, and the love.
"Eliana, I...I don't know where to start," I said, my voice shaking.
"It's okay, Xavier. Just talk to me," she replied, her voice softening.
I took a deep breath and began to pour out my heart, telling her everything that had been bottled up inside me. I told her about my pain, my anger, and my love. I told her about the silence, and how it had been killing me.
As I spoke, I could feel the weight lifting off my shoulders. It was like a dam had burst, and all my emotions were flooding out.
Eliana listened, her silence a testament to her attention. When I finally finished speaking, she took a deep breath before responding.
"Xavier, I...I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry for hurting you. I was lost, and I didn't know how to find my way back."
Her words were like a balm to my soul. I felt a sense of relief wash over me, knowing that she understood, that she was sorry.
"Eliana, I love you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
There was a pause, and for a moment, I wondered if I had said too much. But then, Eliana's voice came through, soft and gentle.
"I love you too, Xavier."
"I need to see you, Eliana," I said, my voice filled with emotion. "We need to talk in person, to work through everything that's happened between us."
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, I wondered if I had overstepped. But then, Eliana's voice came through, soft and hesitant.
"Okay, Xavier. I...I think that's a good idea."
I felt a surge of hope and excitement. This was it, the chance for us to finally work through our issues and see if we could salvage our relationship.
"When and where?" I asked, trying to keep my enthusiasm in check.
How about...my place?" Eliana suggested. Tonight
I nodded, even though she couldn't see me. "Tonight sounds perfect."
I hung up the phone, my heart racing with anticipation. Tonight, I would finally see Eliana again, and we would confront the issues that had been tearing us apart.
The hours ticked by at a glacial pace. I tried to distract myself with work and TV, but my mind kept wandering back to Eliana. What would she say? Would we be able to work through our problems?
Finally, the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the city. I took a deep breath, grabbed my keys, and headed out the door.
The drive to Eliana's place seemed to take forever. My nerves were on edge, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
When I arrived, I took a moment to collect myself before getting out of the car. I walked up to the door, took a deep breath, and knocked.
The door opened, and Eliana stood before me, her eyes locked on mine. For a moment, we just stared at each other, the tension between us palpable.
Then, without a word, Eliana stepped aside, allowing me to enter. I walked in, my heart pounding in my chest, and closed the door behind me.
As I entered the apartment, I was struck by the familiar scent of Eliana's perfume. It brought back a flood of memories, both good and bad. I felt a pang of nostalgia, but I pushed it aside, focusing on the present.
Eliana closed the door behind me and turned to face me. We stood there for a moment, looking at each other. The tension between us was palpable, but I could see the vulnerability in her eyes.
"Hey," she said softly, breaking the silence.
"Hey," I replied, my voice low.
We stood there for another moment, unsure of what to do next. Then, Eliana took a step forward, and I followed suit. We met in the middle of the room, our bodies inches apart.
"I'm sorry," Eliana said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm so sorry for everything."
I looked at her, searching for answers. "Why did you push me away, Eliana? Why did you hurt me like that?"
Eliana's eyes filled with tears, and she took a deep breath before speaking. "I was scared, Xavier. I was scared of my feelings for you, scared of getting hurt. I didn't know how to deal with it, so I pushed you away."
I felt a pang of sadness, but also of understanding. I realized that Eliana's actions had been motivated by fear, not malice.
"I'm scared too, Eliana," I said, taking a step closer to her. "I'm scared of losing you, of not being able to make this work. But I'm willing to try, if you are."
Eliana's eyes locked onto mine, and I could see the hope and uncertainty there. She took a deep breath, and then nodded.
"I'm willing to try, Xavier. I want to make this work."
As soon as the words left Eliana's lips, I felt a rush of emotion. I pulled her into my arms, my lips crashing down on hers in a desperate, all-consuming kiss.
It was as if I was trying to hold onto her, to keep her from slipping away. My arms wrapped tightly around her, pulling her close as our lips moved in perfect sync.
Eliana's hands grasped at my shirt, her fingers digging deep into the fabric as she kissed me back with equal desperation. Our tongues tangled, our breath mingling as we devoured each other.
The world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, lost in the intensity of our kiss. It was a kiss that spoke of longing, of need, of desperation.
As we kissed, I felt the weight of our past struggles, our misunderstandings, and our hurtful words slowly lifting. It was as if our lips were sealing a promise, a promise to try again, to forgive, and to love.
Finally, we broke apart, gasping for air. Eliana's eyes locked onto mine, shining with tears and a deep, abiding love.
"I'm not going anywhere, Xavier," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I'm here, and I'm not leaving."
I smiled, feeling a sense of hope and renewal wash over me. "I'm not going anywhere either, Eliana," I replied, my voice filled with conviction. "We're in this together, now and forever."
