Chapter 30: chapter 30
Royalty's POV:
I woke up with a start, my heart racing as I saw the numerous missed calls and messages from Eliana on my phone. I felt a wave of guilt wash over me as I realized I had been so caught up in my feelings for Elvis that I had neglected my best friend.
I immediately threw off the covers and grabbed my clothes, trying not to wake Elvis up. I quickly got dressed and made my way out of the house, feeling like I was sneaking around.
As I walked out of the house, I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt. What would Eliana say if she found out about me and Elvis?
I took a deep breath and tried to push the thoughts aside. I needed to talk to Eliana and find out what was going on. I dialed her number and waited for her to pick up.
Eliana's POV:
I answered the phone, my heart racing with worry. "Royalty, where have you been? I've been trying to reach you for hours!"
Royalty's voice was hesitant on the other end of the line. "I'm so sorry, Eliana. I was... um... busy."
I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I had been worried sick about Royalty, and I was glad to hear that she was okay.
"Busy?" I repeated, trying to keep my tone light. "What were you doing that was so important?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, I wondered if Royalty was going to tell me the truth.
"I was just... hanging out with someone," Royalty said finally.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Someone?" I repeated. "Who's that?"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "You had sex with Elvis?" I repeated, trying to process the information.
Royalty's voice was hesitant on the other end of the line. "I know it's crazy, Eliana. But I couldn't help how I felt. We just clicked."
I burst out laughing, unable to believe what I was hearing. "You did what? When did you guys start liking each other?"
Royalty laughed too, sounding relieved. "I know it's fast, but we just connected. And it's not just about the sex, Eliana. I really like him."
I grinned, happy for my best friend. "I'm glad you're happy, Royalty. But next time, please don't ignore my calls. I was worried sick about you."
Royalty apologized, and we chatted for a bit longer, catching up on each other's lives. As we talked, I couldn't help but feel happy for Royalty. She deserved to be happy, and if Elvis was the one who made her feel that way, then I was all for it.
Elvis's POV:
I woke up with a start, my heart racing with confusion. The bed was empty, and Royalty was nowhere to be found. I looked around frantically, checking every corner of the room.
But she was gone.
I felt a surge of anger and frustration. Why would she leave without telling me? Did she think I was a joke?
I threw off the covers and got out of bed, pacing back and forth in the room. I couldn't believe she would just disappear like that.
"What's wrong with her?" I muttered to myself. "Does she not take this seriously?"
I checked my phone, seeing the missed calls and texts from Eliana. Royalty must have talked to her, I thought, feeling a pang of jealousy.
I dialed Royalty's number, but it went straight to voicemail. "Royalty, where are you? We need to talk," I growled, trying to keep my anger in check.
But as I waited for her to call back, my frustration grew. Why would she leave without explaining?
Elvis's POV:
I dialed Xavier's number, pacing back and forth in the room. When he answered, I poured out my frustration.
"Dude, I don't understand what's going on," I said, trying to keep my voice down. "Royalty just left, and I have no idea why."
Xavier's voice was calm on the other end. "What happened? Did you guys have a fight?"
I took a deep breath, feeling embarrassed. "No, nothing like that. I just feel like I didn't ... you know, last long enough or fuck her right the way she wants."
There was a pause. "Elvis, you need to relax. Women can be unpredictable."
I sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and insecurity. "I know, man. But I've never had this happen before."
Xavier chuckled. "Well, maybe you should ask her what's going on."
I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "You're right. I'll call her back."
"Hey, Elvis?" Xavier said.
"Yeah?"
"Trust yourself, man. You're not defined by one night." Xavier said laughing at his friend
Xavier's POV:
I couldn't help but think about the irony of the situation as I listened to Elvis pour out his frustrations.
"Wow, I didn't know you had fallen for Royalty," I said, trying to keep a straight face.
Elvis sounded defensive on the other end. "What's that supposed to mean?"
I chuckled. "I mean, you were pretty amused when you found out how I felt about Eliana. But now, you're in the same boat."
Elvis sighed. "Xavier, that's not the point. The point is that Royalty just left without explaining anything."
I sobered up, feeling a pang of sympathy for my friend. "I know, man. But maybe you should give her some space. She'll come around when she's ready to talk."
Elvis grunted, and I could tell he was still frustrated. But I knew he'd come around eventually. After all, he was my friend, and I had his back.
Elvis's POV:
I tried calling Royalty again after taking a shower, but her line was unreachable. I felt a surge of frustration and worry. Where was she?
I grabbed my shirt and headed out the door, deciding to go to Eliana's and Royalty's house. It was Sunday, so they would likely be home.
As I drove to their house, I couldn't help but think about what had happened. Why had Royalty left without explaining anything?
I pulled up to the house and got out of the car, feeling a mix of emotions. I knocked on the door, hoping that Royalty would answer and we could talk things through.
The door opened, and Eliana stood there, looking surprised to see me. "Elvis, what's going on?" she asked.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "I need to talk to Royalty," I said. "We had a... misunderstanding, and I need to clear things up."
Eliana's expression softened, and she stepped aside, letting me in. "Royalty's in her room," she said. "But be warned, she's not in a good mood."
I took a deep breath, preparing myself for the conversation ahead. I knew I had to approach this carefully, to understand why Royalty had left without a word.
As I walked towards Royalty's room, I thought to myself, "I need to know what I did wrong. Was it really just about the sex? Or was there something more?"
taking a deep breath. I knew I had to be careful, but I couldn't help how I felt. I needed to talk to Royalty, to explain myself and apologize for whatever I had done wrong.
As I walked towards Royalty's room, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I knew I had to be honest with her, to tell her how I really felt.
I knocked on the door, and when Royalty's voice called out, I took a deep breath and stepped inside.
Royalty's POV:
I was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling and trying to process my emotions. I had left Elvis's house without a word, feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do.
I heard a knock at the door, and Eliana's voice called out, "Royalty, Elvis is here to see you."
My heart skipped a beat as I sat up in bed. What did Elvis want? And why was he here?
I took a deep breath and called out, "Come in."
The door opened, and Elvis walked in, looking concerned. "Hey, Royalty. Can we talk?"
I nodded, trying to find the right words. Elvis's eyes were filled with sadness, and I could see the vulnerability in his gaze.
"I'm sorry, Elvis," I said softly. "I didn't mean to leave without explaining. It's just... everything happened so fast, and I needed some space to think."
Elvis's expression softened. "What did I do wrong?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
I took a deep breath, choosing my words carefully. "It's not about what you did, Elvis. It's about how I feel. I like you, but I'm scared. I don't know if I'm ready for this.
Royalty's POV:
I looked into Elvis's eyes, seeing the sincerity and desperation there. He sat down beside me on the bed, his voice filled with emotion.
"Please, Royalty, don't ignore me," he said, taking my hand in his. "I've fallen hard for you already. Don't ignore me, please. Let's try and see where this takes us."
I felt a flutter in my chest as I looked at Elvis. He was being so vulnerable, and it was hard to resist.
But I was still scared. I didn't know if I was ready for a relationship.
Elvis must have sensed my hesitation, because he immediately kneeled down, his eyes locked on mine.
"Okay, okay," I said, feeling a smile spread across my face. "But let's be friends with benefits for now. I'm not ready for anything more."
Elvis's face lit up with a smile, and he nodded eagerly.
"Deal," he said, his voice filled with excitement.
I laughed, feeling a sense of relief wash over me.
"Okay, friends with benefits it is," I said, smiling at Elvis.
He grinned back at me, and we shared a soft, gentle kiss.
Eliana's POV:
I was sitting in the living room, watching TV and trying to relax, when my phone rang. I looked at the screen and saw Alexander's name flashing.
I felt a flutter in my chest as I answered the call. "Hey, Alexander."
"Hey, Eliana," Alexander's deep voice replied. "What's up?"
I smiled, feeling a sense of excitement. "Not much, just chillin' at home. How about you?"
Alexander chuckled. "I'm good. Just got back from a meeting. I was thinking, maybe we could grab dinner tonight?"
My heart skipped a beat. Was Alexander asking me out on a date?
"I'd love to," I said, trying to sound casual.
"Great," Alexander said. "I'll pick you up at 7?"
"Sounds perfect," I replied.
We chatted for a few more minutes before Alexander had to go. I hung up the phone, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness.
Was this a date? And what did Alexander have planned?
I felt a pang of guilt in my chest as I thought about the contract I had signed with Xavier. We had agreed to a contract marriage, and part of the deal was that we wouldn't cheat on each other until the contract was over.
And to make matters more complicated, Xavier was already my boyfriend. Or at least, that's what we had agreed to pretend to be.
I sighed, feeling a twinge of anxiety. I had forgotten all about the contract when Alexander asked me out to dinner.
But as I thought about it more, I decided that it was just a dinner date. It didn't have to mean anything more. And besides, I was curious about Alexander. He seemed nice, and I wanted to get to know him better.
So I pushed aside my guilt and decided to just enjoy the dinner date. After all, it was just one night. What could possibly go wrong?
