Chapter 26: chapter 26
I took a deep breath and waited for Xavier to answer. When he finally picked up, his warm voice sent a flutter through my chest.
"Eliana, darling! It's so great to hear from you," he said, his tone dripping with charm.
I smiled, feeling a little shy. "Hi, Xavier. I was wondering if we could meet up," I said, trying to sound casual.
There was a pause on the other end of the line. "Of course, sweetheart. What's this about?" he asked, his curiosity evident.
I hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. "Just a personal matter," I said, trying to be vague.
Xavier's laughter filled the line. "Okay, mystery woman. I'm intrigued. When and where?"
I thought for a moment before responding. "How about we meet at Café Bella tomorrow afternoon?" I suggested.
"Perfect. I'll be there," he said, his voice filled with enthusiasm.
Our conversation ended with a promise to meet the next day. I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. What would Xavier say when we met? Would he agree to help me?
Xavier's POV:
I couldn't believe my luck when Eliana's name flashed on my phone screen. I had been trying to get in touch with her for months, but she had been avoiding me.
I answered the phone, trying to sound casual despite the excitement building inside me. "Eliana, darling! It's so great to hear from you," I said, trying to charm her.
As we talked, I couldn't help but feel a spark of hope. Maybe, just maybe, Eliana was finally willing to give me a chance.
When she asked to meet up, I couldn't believe my luck. I agreed to meet her at Café Bella the next day, trying to play it cool despite the excitement building inside me.
As I hung up the phone, I couldn't help but wonder what Eliana wanted to talk about. Was she finally ready to admit her feelings for me?
I couldn't wait to find out.
I quickly dialed Elvis's number, excitement building inside me.
"Hey, man," Elvis answered on the first ring.
"It's happening," I said, barely containing my enthusiasm.
Elvis chuckled. "What's happening?" he asked.
"Eliana just called me," I said. "She wants to meet up tomorrow."
There was a pause on the other end of the line before Elvis spoke up. "And you think this is a good idea?" he asked, his tone cautious.
I nodded, even though Elvis couldn't see me. "I have to try, man," I said. "I've been waiting for this chance for months."
Elvis sighed. "Just be careful, okay?" he said. "You don't know what she wants."
I grinned, feeling a sense of optimism. "I'll be fine," I said. "Thanks for looking out for me, though."
We chatted for a few more minutes before Elvis had to go. I hung up the phone, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. Tomorrow couldn't come soon enough.
I arrived at Café Bella early, eager to see Eliana again. I had been thinking about her nonstop since our phone call the day before.
As I waited for her to arrive, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness. What did she want to talk about? Was she finally ready to admit her feelings for me?
Just as I was starting to get anxious, Eliana walked into the café. She looked stunning in a yellow sundress, her hair pulled back in a ponytail.
I stood up as she approached, feeling a sense of excitement. "Eliana," I said, smiling. "You look beautiful."
Eliana smiled back, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Thanks, Xavier," she said. "You look pretty good yourself."
We sat down at a table, ordering coffee and pastries as we chatted. I couldn't help but notice the way Eliana's eyes sparkled as she laughed, the way her hair shone in the sunlight.
As we talked, I realized that I was still deeply attracted to Eliana. But I also sensed that something was off. She seemed nervous and fidgety, glancing around the café as if she was worried about being seen.
I leaned forward, my curiosity getting the better of me. "So, Eliana," I said. "What's this about? You said you wanted to talk to me about something."
Eliana took a deep breath, her eyes locking onto mine. "I need a favor, Xavier," she said. "A big one."
Elvis's POV:
I was sitting in my office, going over some papers, when my phone rang. It was Xavier.
"Hey, man," Xavier said, sounding excited. "I'm meeting Eliana right now."
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "And?" I asked.
Xavier hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I don't know, man. She seems nervous. I think she wants something from me."
I frowned, feeling a sense of unease. "Be careful, Xavier," I said. "You don't know what she's after."
Xavier laughed. "Don't worry, Elvis. I can handle myself."
I wasn't so sure. Xavier had a soft spot for Eliana, and I knew he would do just about anything for her.
As we talked, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Eliana was a mysterious woman, and I didn't trust her.
But Xavier was determined to see this through. I just hoped he wouldn't end up getting hurt.
I decided to take a detour on my way home, stopping by the mall to grab a snack. As I walked through the corridors, I stumbled upon Royalty, Eliana's best friend, browsing through a clothing store.
I smiled, feeling a sense of surprise. "Royalty! What are you doing here?" I asked, walking up to her.
Royalty turned around, a smile spreading across her face. "Just grabbing a few things," she said. "I needed a break from work."
We chatted for a bit, browsing through the store together. I was surprised by how easy it was to talk to Royalty, how much we had in common. We laughed and joked, our conversation flowing effortlessly.
As we finished shopping, Royalty suggested we grab some coffee. I agreed, and we walked to the food court, continuing our conversation.
As the evening wore on, I found myself feeling more and more drawn to Royalty. She was smart, funny, and beautiful. I couldn't believe I had never noticed her before.
As we walked to the car park, the tension between us grew thicker. I could feel the attraction building, the air charged with anticipation.
Royalty stopped in front of her car, turning to face me. Our eyes locked, and for a moment, time stood still.
I leaned in, my heart pounding in my chest. Royalty's eyes fluttered closed, and I could feel her lips inches from mine.
Just as we were about to kiss, Royalty's eyes snapped open. She took a step back, a look of surprise on her face.
"I'm sorry," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't mean to..."
I smiled, feeling a sense of understanding. "It's okay," I said. "I think we both needed that."
Royalty smiled back, and we shared a moment of awkward silence.
As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. What had just happened between us? And where would it lead?
