Chapter 24: chapter 24
As I sat across from Alexander, I couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked. His piercing blue eyes seemed to see right through me, and his chiseled features made him look like a model. His dark hair was perfectly styled, and his tailored suit accentuated his broad shoulders and lean physique.
I felt a flutter in my chest as I met his gaze, and I quickly looked away, trying to compose myself. I couldn't believe how attracted I was to him. I had expected him to be older, maybe even a little paunchy. But Alexander was none of those things. He was young, handsome, and confident.
I took a deep breath and began to tell Alexander about myself. "My name is Eliana Damien," I said, "and I'm the daughter of Damien Wilson. Both of my parents are late, living I and my younger brother and I inherited my father's company, Damien Group of Companies."
Alexander's eyes widened slightly, and he nodded, clearly impressed. "I've heard of Damien Group," he said. "It's a very successful company."
I nodded, feeling a sense of pride. "Yes, it is. But the board of directors had a problem with an unmarried girl handling the company. They think I'm not stable enough, that I need a husband to help me make decisions."
Alexander's expression turned skeptical. "That's ridiculous," he said. "You're clearly a capable and intelligent woman."
I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. "Thank you," I said. "But the board of directors doesn't see it that way. So, I promised them that I would get married within six months."
Alexander's eyes locked onto mine, and I could see the wheels turning in his head. "And that's where I come in," he said, a small smile playing on his lips.
I nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. "Yes, that's right. I need a husband, and I need one quickly. The agent told me that you're looking for a contract marriage, and I thought maybe we could help each other out."
Alexander leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together as he considered my proposal. I could see the calculating look in his eyes, and I knew that he was weighing the pros and cons of marrying me.
I took a deep breath and tried to focus on the conversation. But it was hard to concentrate when all I could think about was how much I wanted to kiss him.
Alexander's POV:
I watched Eliana as she spoke, her words painting a picture of a strong and determined woman. I had to admit, I was intrigued by her. She was beautiful, intelligent, and clearly capable of handling herself in a tough situation.
As she finished speaking, I leaned back in my chair, steepling my fingers together as I considered her proposal. A contract marriage was exactly what I needed to secure the business deal that would take my company to the next level.
And Eliana was the perfect candidate. She was a member of the wealthy elite, and her family's company was a respected and influential player in the business world.
But as I looked at Eliana, I couldn't help but feel a spark of attraction. She was more than just a suitable candidate for a contract marriage. She was a vibrant and fascinating woman, and I found myself wanting to know more about her.
"Tell me, Eliana," I said, leaning forward in my chair. "What do you hope to get out of this contract marriage?"
Eliana's eyes met mine, and I could see a flash of determination in their depths. "I want to keep my father's company," she said. "And I need a husband to do it."
I nodded, impressed by her candor. "And what do you propose we get out of this arrangement?" I asked.
Eliana's smile was a hint of mischief. "I propose we help each other out," she said. "You need a wife to secure your business deal, and I need a husband to keep my father's company. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement."
I couldn't help but be charmed by her straightforwardness. And as I looked at Eliana, I knew that I was willing to do whatever it took to make this contract marriage work.
