The Disruptor: One Piece

Chapter 24: King's deception.

Ace leaned on the edge of the ship, the letter trembling slightly in his hands. The words seemed to burn into his mind as he read them, each sentence unraveling emotions he hadn't prepared for.

At first, a wave of disbelief washed over him.

"Big brother…?" he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. His brows furrowed, and he read the letter again, his heart racing. "King," the man who had risked to save him and their crew, was not just a stranger with a knack for theatrics but his older brother someone he never even knew he had.

The revelation stirred a mixture of emotions that crashed over him like a tidal wave. Relief came first, a fleeting feeling that warmed his chest. He wasn't alone. Even though he'd grown up without him, knowing he had a brother who cared enough to step in during the war eased a small part of his lifelong loneliness.

But relief was quickly overtaken by anger. His fists clenched around the edges of the letter, crumpling it slightly.

"Playing dead? While I was out there" His voice cracked as memories of his harsh childhood surfaced. The years he spent carrying the weight of being Roger's son, the nights he wondered why he even existed if no one wanted him. All that time, his supposed brother had been alive and in hiding.

"What gave you the right to disappear?" Ace growled, his voice shaking with frustration. His Conqueror's Haki rippled unconsciously without him noticing, causing the wooden walls of the room to creak.

But as his gaze fell on the closing lines of the letter, his anger began to waver. The mention of Sabo the brother he thought he'd lost hit him like a cannonball to the chest. He froze, and felf the air knocked out of him.

"Sabo… alive?" His voice was barely audible now, his eyes scanning the words again, desperate to believe them. Memories of Sabo flooded his mind the laughter, the shared dreams, the mischief he thought he'd lost him forever. The possibility that Sabo was out there, alive but without his memories, was both a relief and a source of guilt.

Ace gritted his teeth as tears pricked at the corners of his eyes. He wiped them away quickly, his pride refusing to let them fall.

"You should've told me sooner, you bastard," he muttered, addressing the letter as if King could hear him.

Yet, beneath the anger and guilt was something else something Ace rarely allowed himself to feel. Hope. If Sabo was alive, then maybe the family he thought was lost could be whole again, even if it wasn't in the way he'd imagined.

Taking a deep breath, Ace folded the letter carefully and placed it inside his coat. His fingers lingered on the fabric, his mind racing. He needed time to process everything, to decide what to do with this knowledge. For now, he had to focus on recovering, on getting stronger.

As he stood and looked out the window at the sea, a small, determined smile tugged at his lips.

"You've got a lot to answer for, big brother," he said softly. "But… thanks. For everything."

The burden of his lineage felt a little lighter now, the promise of a future reunion with Sabo giving him something to hold onto.

"Ace, Are you okay?" Came Jozu's voice waking up ace from his thoughts. "Yeah I'm good can I meet King?" he asked. " No he would've meet you you if he wanted to but he's doing something for the Straw Hats." he replied.

"What was in the letter ace? You just released Conqueror's Haki reading it just now" Marco asked making ace shocked. Soon however he calmed down and smiled "Nothing, I just need to train it now to control it myself."

"Marco can you fill me on everything about King and whatever he did or told you guys while I was passed out?" Marco nodded and started speaking, telling him how I joined the Whitebeard Pirates and the reason I decoded to fake my death and why I appeared only now."

While this was happening, a day later on a Island near Sabaody King before everyone's eyes landed with a ship with King Pirates jolly roger. Soon this news was notified to the Marines headquarters and even the World Government.

Hearing this news Marines didn't wait to confirm the news and focused their remaining forces there leaving Marineford only with necessary forces to defend it.

When Marines focused their forces on King, a Marine ship slowly came back and entered its shore range. There were many journalists still there and talking about the recent chaos at the seas all over the world.

Suddenly a loud voice of a cannon came and scared everyone. Someone from the bunch of journalists noticed something unusual, "Huh! Blank shots. What's going on?" he said and everyone focused on the marine ship and saw Monkey.D.Luffy there.

Seeing a pirate on marine ship after they lost the war enraged marines. They aimed cannons and fired them towards luffy, but before the cannonballs could hit luffy a wall of water block most of the barrage. The remanants exploded before reaching luffy.

Soon everyone knew the reason and started whispering to each other. "That...that's Dark King Rayleigh, Roger's first mate." "And that's former Warlord Jinbei 'First son of the sea." "Why are together with Straw Hat luffy?"

"Arey the going to attack Marineford when they are at their weakest?" "Why are they together?" While the journalists talked marines attacked again and this time they hit the ship.

This time luffy, Jinbei and Rayleigh didn't protect the ship and jumped ashore. The nearby marines wanted to attack luffy but Jinbei and Rayleigh came forward this time "I'll fight you guys", "I want you guys to play with me as well" Jinbei and Rayleigh spoke.

Meanwhile luffy as if searching for something jumped and moved around continuously. Then locating the Ox Bell he ran towards it, jumping on it's pedestal he rang it 16 times consecutively. Then coming towards a huge crack he threw a bouquet of flowers below, took off his hat and had a moment of silence for the dead all while the marines couldn't do anything to stop him.

The journalists seeing this took his pictures and started to discussing about printing this news with their superiors. Luffy, Jinbei and Rayleigh left on a whale quietly after this and soon the news about this spread worldwide.

There were many speculations about this incident but only a few understood why luffy did this. It was a discussed and planned so that luffy could send message to his crew about when to meet back again.

Meanwhile marines who went to catch King when attacked King found that king dissappeared right before them and found that all what they saw or heard from the beginning was just an illusion. King was never here. The started doubting why were these rumors spread and for what.

But soon the heard the news coming from Marineford about luffy and understood that all this was a distraction by King to lure the remaining marine power away from Marineford. These made them furious, who wouldn't be? Nobody liked to be played like some chess pieces on a game board.
