Chapter 126: In the futur6
Pov Rin,
Brown-haired girl: "Need I must remind Nemo that it's impolite to sleep during class, and it's even more disgraceful when the person not paying attention is on the discipline committee?"
This girl, whose name I learned was Yui Kotegawa—the vice president of the discipline committee—was addressing a girl with turquoise hair, though it leaned more toward green. She had tired-looking eyes with dark circles and sharp teeth.
Nemo: "Huh? I must warn you that I've been practicing, and I'm still tired from yesterday's session."
Yui: "Sorry, I didn't consider that possibility."
Yellow-haired girl: "Oh, you practiced for an hour and then played until three o'clock in the morning."
The girl with yellow hair made a remark that caused Yui's anger to flare and earned her a glare of hatred from Nemo.
Girl with yellow hair: "Now that I've done what I had to do, shall we go eat?"
She seemed to take pleasure in Nemo's misfortune. She invited Haruka, the girl with blue hair, and even me to show us around.
The girl with yellow hair was named Tenkawa Kaoruko, and the one with blue hair was named Minakami Sayo.
Haruka: "You're not nice to do that to Nemo; she's our sister."
My brain went haywire when Haruka said this.
Rin: "Are you sisters?"
Sayo: "Not really. It's just that we've all known each other since birth because we're all children of May-sama's servants."
(Author's note: They are all daughters of Dia, but they don't attend the school.)
Haruka was very happy to make a new friend and showed me around. I noticed that some clubs were more advantageous than others, especially the music club, of which May-sama was the president.
She is a great music fan and, at every school festival, she performs. Sometimes, her daughter joins her.
Random girl: "Look, these are the three Onee-sama."
I turned and saw three unmatched beauties. One had red hair and was probably a foreigner. The second had the elegance and beauty of a Yamato Nadeshiko, and the last one looked so much like a younger version of the director. There was no doubt that it was Inglis, whom the others regarded as their sister.
Akeno: "Ara ara, if it isn't our cute member of the discipline committee."
Haruka: "Good morning, Akeno. Are you doing well?"
Akeno: "Yes, I'm fine. I see you're still as cheerful as ever."
Haruka: "Of course! I made a new friend. Come on, Rin, introduce yourself to them."
How can she not feel uncomfortable in front of such beauty? It's certain that by the end of the day, my sense of beauty will be completely ruined.
The redhead was named Rias Gremory, the black-haired one was Himejima Akeno, and the last one was Inglis.
Inglis was very intimidating, which perfectly suited her role as chair of the discipline committee.
Inglis: "I'm sorry, Rias and Akeno. I'll have my meal with my sister rather than with you."
Rias: "It's okay. Sometimes it's better to spend time with family."
It seemed that the bond between Inglis and the children of May-sama's servants was stronger than I had thought.
I asked Haruka if all the members of the discipline committee had this connection, but it turned out that only Yui did not share this bond. However, Yui remained one of Inglis's childhood friends. She had a strong sense of justice, which caught May-sama's attention. As a result, May-sama personally invited Yui to train with her, ensuring she wouldn't be defeated by someone tired of her unyielding sense of justice.
Inglis: "I was very surprised when Mother introduced me to this person because, usually, I only spoke to Mother's close acquaintances or to you. Being able to talk to someone else felt like a new breath of freedom."
She was very happy to be connected with Yui because, to her, Yui was her best friend. Apparently, Yui respected her a lot because Inglis had a strong sense of justice.
Kaoruko: "If she knew you just liked fighting, she wouldn't see you the same way."
Inglis: "Everyone has their little secret."
I felt there was another hidden meaning to what she said, but I couldn't figure out what it was.
After the meal, it was time for the second part of the course. It was just as enjoyable as the first, but I started to feel uneasy—I think I might become untouchable because the way the boys were looking at me was a little frightening.
