Chapter 90: Volume 1 Chapter 90: An Old Lady Only In Age

Bang!

A lizardman was thrown into the wagon, making an intimate connection with the metal walls of the truck. The mechanical voice still rang in their ears:

"Beep, beep. Successfully captured Experiment No. 3. Species: Adakrys. Enhanced synthetic demi-human specimen."

Garde's eyes widened, his body frozen as if paralyzed by some drug. His mind, however, flashed back to his earlier conversation with Kal'tsit.

"The ancient civilization deep beneath the Hotlands has only reawakened basic AI right now. They modify creatures and excavate suitable energy sources. As long as we disguise ourselves as captured creatures, we can infiltrate their processing facility."

The processing facility was the base where the ancient civilization manufactured soldiers. If they could destroy it, the civilization deep in the Hotlands would lose its ability to mass-produce troops for a short time.

The communications environment in the Hotlands was terrible. Even if the facility was destroyed, the AI might not immediately notice. If they acted quickly enough, they could lead the lizardman army and strike at the heart of the civilization before the AI could respond.

However, to get captured successfully, they had to possess a strong enough drug resistance to neutralize the effects of the civilization's sedatives and, once inside the facility, the ability to break free from their restraints and escape.

Thus, Garde was chosen as the lucky one to infiltrate the enemy camp.

After all, this ancient civilization was capable of capturing even powerful creatures like dragons from the Hotlands.

After Garde allowed himself to be captured, two more voices sounded from outside:

"Beep, beep. Successfully captured Experiment No. 21. Species: Feline. High-grade synthetic demi-human specimen."

"Beep, beep. Successfully captured Experiment No. 29. Species: Vouivre. High-grade synthetic demi-human specimen."

A short-haired white feline and a long-haired white Vouivre were tossed into the wagon from outside—none other than Kal'tsit and Saria.

Originally, Garde intended to infiltrate the facility alone, but Kal'tsit insisted on accompanying him, citing his lack of knowledge about the inner workings of the facility. Saria also felt it was too dangerous for Garde to go in alone.

So both of them joined him.

Unlike ordinary people, Kal'tsit had a powerful summoned companion, and Saria's strength was such that even Garde couldn't claim she'd slow him down. Plus, before destroying the facility and assembling the lizardman army, they didn't have much else to do. Garde agreed to let them come along.

Actually, Garde wasn't too concerned about Kal'tsit—they weren't very familiar with each other. But he was somewhat worried about Saria.

After all, they were in a relationship now. Who wouldn't worry about their girlfriend coming to the battlefield with them?

But Saria wasn't just a pretty face. If she focused on defense and fully used her arts, even Garde would need more than a single strike to take her down.

Although it might sound bad, Garde had initially wanted to bring Surtr along. However, Surtr found the idea too troublesome and flat-out refused.

Without Laevatain's protection, Surtr was just an ordinary person. Even with the neutralizing drugs provided by Kal'tsit, she'd still succumb to the ancient civilization's sedatives.

Kal'tsit and Saria were tossed from several meters above into the wagon. The ancient civilization's trucks were somewhat like the dump trucks used in construction, with high walls on all sides. The mechanical systems clearly understood the physical strength of various races in Terra. A Vouivre wouldn't be harmed by such a fall, but an unconscious feline might not fare so well.

So, while the mechanical arm casually tossed Saria into the wagon, it precisely aimed Kal'tsit to land on Garde's white belly, using it as a cushion.

Garde had fallen flat on his back. To maintain his weak and powerless facade, he endured the discomfort of landing on his tail, suppressing any actions that would reveal his true condition.

His body was slightly tilted, as his tail was pressing against his back. When Kal'tsit landed on his belly, she didn't slide off immediately but rather hung onto him.

Seeing this, Saria, who had fallen on the other side of the wagon, twitched her mouth and reassured herself internally: "It's just an accident, just an accident!"

It really was an accident.

Garde tried to shift his body a little to make Kal'tsit slide off him.

"Don't move!"

Kal'tsit's hand, resting on Garde's abdomen, applied a slight pressure.

Though it didn't hurt, Garde understood what she meant. His peripheral vision scanned the surroundings, and he finally noticed several surveillance cameras inside the wagon.

Any suspicious movement from the captured creatures would definitely alert the mechanical lifeforms outside.

It wasn't worth drawing attention at this point!

Garde calmed himself.

It's just an old lady lying on his stomach—what's there to panic about? If the old lady isn't panicking, why should he?

That is, assuming the one lying on his stomach was truly an old lady.

But aside from her age, what part of Kal'tsit actually looked like an old lady?

Garde was big in stature, broad across, though his height wasn't too out of place for a normal person. So when Kal'tsit landed on him, it looked more like a girl snuggling up to her lover—despite the fact that Garde's actual girlfriend was lying not too far away.

Kal'tsit hood had fallen back, revealing a delicate face. Half of it rested against Garde's chest, while the other half gazed sideways at the wagon floor. Her green eyes were dim, and it was unclear what she was thinking.

Of course, Kal'tsit had no other thoughts in her mind. Having roamed this land for countless years, the notion of settling down had long left her.

So, even though her body was pressed against Garde's, and her keen sense of smell occasionally caught the scent of his masculine hormones, causing a slight stirring deep inside her, her face remained expressionless.

If it were a regular feline in her position, their body might have gone limp by now. Not everyone can resist the allure of a god-like warrior—handsome, powerful, and wise! These qualities are like a drug, triggering a primal desire in any creature.

But the feline lying on Garde's stomach was Kal'tsit, a virgin who had lived for thousands of years.

She could feel the immense strength within the lizardman beneath her. Every muscle held explosive power. Resting against him didn't make her feel hot or cold; it brought a sense of warmth and security.

Ordinary people would mistake such feelings for affection or love, but not Kal'tsit.

To her, this was just a mission, a collaboration.

Even the young man beneath her had remained composed, so how could she lose her cool so easily?

This was the composure of a long-lived elder.

Until Kal'tsit realized that something beneath her lower abdomen had just moved.

Kal'tsit: "..."
