Chapter 52: The Winged-Humans (13) (Rumbling Dragons 4)
"The Great Mother won't forgive you if you kill us!" One of the two younger Dragons shouted out as their spine shivered.
The other dragon was paralyzed with an overwhelming sense of fear. So much so that he started to fall from the sky, just a boulder and slammed into the ground before snapping out of his own mental terror.
"Pfft, I guess you're at least smart enough to know I'm a threat. I'll kill you last, that is, unless you'd like to swap employers? I could use a pair of dragons." Night Silver giggled. Though I have no idea what I'd use them for at the moment, it's always a good idea to have a couple of aces up one's sleeve. Nothing quite like whipping out a dragon or two to put the fear in the hearts of the enemy. Oh! I could use them against that so-called great Mother.
"I'd never bow to you!" The sole dragon remaining airborne, stated in a shaky roar. It was as if it wasn't sure about its own statement.
"Ahahaha! That's the spirit. Ah, only a dragon could ignore my will. But you see, you've angered me quite a bit with that statement of yours. And now… Hehehe, you're going to learn first hand why druids are meant to be feared." Night Silver laughed with a wild smile, finally getting a chance to release. "Control Gravity!" She called the name of her spell and pointed down.
The airborne dragon… "UGH! WHAT IS THIS!" they said as they went plummeting to the ground like a meteor. Quite literally even, the result was a halfway decently sized crater. And several scales strewn about the crater and the surrounding area.
Having seen what just happened, he couldn't believe it. "What… What was that just now?" The Mountain Dragon Lord asked, now thoroughly terrified. Proved by the pile of something not so savory piling up, and a puddle of similarly telling fluid behind his rear legs.
"Ahahaha! You're so scared that you excreted on instinct." Night Silver laughed. "Though I suppose I can't blame you for that. I would be too if I was in a similar… Oh, nevermind. I definitely didn't do something so uncivilized when I had to fight a surprise battle against that brother of yours." She smirked with narrowed eyes, looking down on the dragons below her, making sure not to include the Brightness Dragon Lord in her gaze.
"WHAT WAS IT!" The Mountain Dragon Lord yelled out again, this time furious beyond measure. Even going as far as to activate the single most annoying innate talent all dragons possessed. In other words, he was now a valid threat for an averaged sized dungeon lvl 90 dungeon party.
"Tch, I always hated those damn fights. Especially the one I fought to gain my considerably overpowered classes…" Night Silver said, clicking her tongue once she saw the all too familiar ability. That was just a totally unfair fight. So much of my money went into that fight. Though it's still not enough to defeat me. "What I did is simple, I used Gravity to send that disrespectful whelp to the ground." She answered, finally past the annoyance of that one technique that was just used.
"Gravity?! HOW!" The Mountain Dragon Lord shouted angrily.
"How? Because I'm a Druid. How else? We control the very power of nature herself." Night Silver answered, unbothered by this. Afterall, who could oppose nature? Even that one boss I fought wasn't enough to truly win against nature. Admittedly, it was a hell of a challenge, but it was worth it in the end. And if I were to fight it now, I'd likely win without nearly as many items or special purchasable cash shop items.
"HA! You lie, you used gravity, not nature!" The Mountain Dragon Lord smirked, as he thought he had caught Night Silver in a lie.
"You really are stupid, aren't you? I mean, I knew you were beyond help, but this a whole new low. Gravity is a natural phenomenon, is it not? Since it is, I being an Arch Druid, am more than capable of learning to use it to my advantage. You just have to deal with it." Night Silver explained, then cracked her knuckles. "Now, time for you to die." She said, then flew straight towards Mountain Dragon Lord. using a silent spell in the process to do something a little sneaky.
"I'll kill you!!!!" Mountain Dragon Lord roared out a plume of his dragon's breath.
"Heh, you really think I'd be dumb enough to charge right at a dragon without a plan of attack?" Night Silver commented, a little ticked off by the insultingly predictable attack. "I'VE FOUGHT THOUSANDS OF YOUR KIND!" She shouted, changing position with something else. Poor little mouse, thank you for your sacrifice.
"HA! Big talk for a dead woman!" Mountain Dragon Lord laughed as ashes fell from where his plume had been. "Now, I can finish off that despicable nephew of mine…" He said, turning his ire filled gaze towards Brightness Dragon Lord, who was already broken, beaten and bruised.
"Ah, help me Uncle!" A dragon lord squealed out.
The Mountain Dragon Lord turned to see the other nephew's plight. His tail had a delicate looking hand wrapping around it with a grip that would put industrial vice grips to shame. From behind the large body of this dragon, Mountain Dragon Lord saw… He saw it, the flicker of a shining silver hair.
"WHAT! HOW! YOU SHOULD BE DEAD!" Mountain Dragon Lord roared in confusion.
"How?" Night Silver replied with a teasing confusion about her. Then raised the dragon she caught by the tail over head and swung him around in circles causing the dragon's eyes to bulge.
"AHHH This is way faster… OUCH, My tongue… faster than flying…" The dragon screamed in utter terror, biting his tongue in the process, causing a tiny stream of blood to fly around in a circle trailing just behind his own motion.
"Didn't I already answer your question? You know, before you asked it? I've fought your species far more times than any other creature. In that place dragons were meant to symbolize the ultimate obstacle. And only one existed that I had a hard time with in single combat." Night Silver answered as she continued spinning the dragon around her. "To be quite honest, I'm shocked I held back this whole time. You'd already long since been harvested for parts if I hadn't let my new friend fight for the sake of his pride." She shook her head calmly.
