Chapter 4: The Beginning Of The Jura Lazek Kingdom
It has been a few days since Henrik awoke in the central world and trapped Veldora. On his way towards Blumund, Henrik noticed that powerful aura's were surrounding the country which led him with one option.
"So I can't leave this forest. My best guess is the Western Holy Church is investigating the disappearance of Veldora. Okay, in that case, I'll have to change my plans. Great Sage, when will Clayman advance his plans?"
[Answer: The Demon Lord Clayman has, according to your knowledge of this world, taken down the ogre tribe. Currently, the survivors are making their way towards a goblin camp.
Recommendation: If you start building the Great Jura Forest into a nation, by the time the Western Holy Church comes, they'll be strong enough to fight].
"Hphh, I had planned on becoming a hero but it seems the Church would be too suspicious to allow that to happen in the west. And in the East, both Velgrynd and Rudra would sense me and likely kill me.
If I'm quick, I should be able to make it to the goblin village and name them all. Great Sage, start working on Veldora opening a soul corridor with me."
With that, Henrik flew off at full speed towards the goblin camp. Although he had the skill [Gravity Flight], the [Flight] magic he gained from Veldora was much faster so he arrived there in under a day of flying. As he got there, he noticed that the goblin village had been destroyed and right now, the wolves, led by Ranga's father was encircling the town. Likely waiting for the best time to strike.
"Great Sage, can [Barrier] magic be used to protect the village from the wolves?" Henrik asked as his Unique Skill [Strategist] was helping him come up with numerous plans.
[Answer: Barrier magic can be used to keep wolves out of a certain area, however, the wolves would likely stay here believing no one could maintain the barrier for long].
After hearing this, Henrik's face involuntarily let out a grin as this was exactly the result he wanted.
"Good, Isolated Barrier."
After Henrik spoke the incantation, a large green barrier formed around the goblin camp, repelling the nearby wolves and keeping them at bay. When the barrier was formed, both the wolves who were trying to trap the goblins, and all the goblins who were still recovering from Veldora's attack while defend themselves from the wolves all looked up into the sky.
What they saw was a tall human male with dark brown hair, a muscular build and deep blue eyes hovering in the air. The man looked like a divine beings as the sun was shining directly on him and he descended upon the camp.
'Okay, I need to create a confident and heroic persona.' Henrik thinks as he clears his throats before he starts to speak to the goblins who now all look at him in awe.
"Greetings, I am Henrik Lazek. I'm here to save you all and grant you all names, in return, I wish for you all to become my subordinates and serve under me. I will protect you all and ensure you can protect each other, furthermore, I offer to ensure your high ranked goblins still get a voice in how this place is ruled.
Do you all accept the terms of my offer?" Henrik said in a proud and calming voice.
The goblins all looked at Henrik with fear as he'd forgotten to contain his aura, however, some strange feeling within them was bursting to come out. A feeling to trust this human man and take his deal.
"Out of the way," an elderly goblin with a walking stick commanded. It was clear by how much all the surrounding goblins moved at his command and trusted him to speak for them that he was their chief. The one he planned on calling Rigurd.
"You are the one who put this barrier up? Tell me human, why should we trust you? Our people, all the people of this forest have been hunted and slaughtered by your Church because we're not human. Why would we trust a word you say?"
Henrik looked at the goblin chief and gave him a kind smile.
"I understand. In fact, I admire you greatly for speaking so bluntly. I get that humans haven't treated other races well, especially the Western Holy Church, but I assure you, I'm not with them. In fact, should you become my subordinates and they come here, I'll deal with them as I did with Veldora."
As they heard this, all the goblins looked at Henrik with doubt.
"He beat Veldora?" and "How could a human beat him? It's not possible," filled the streets until eventually, the chief spoke up again.
"Hhmm. In that case, we'll accept. It's clear you're strong, whether you beat Veldora I don't know. What I do know is you stopped those wolves from coming here and killing us all. If you'll give us a moment to speak as a clan."
"Of course, I'll go and ensure these wolves are friendly," Henrik said as he flew out of the barrier towards the alpha wolf, leaving the goblins to decide on their future together.
As Henrik flew toward the wolf who had dark blue fur and sharp teeth, all the wolves in the area ran to his side as he howled, clearly expecting a fight.
"Who are you human? This goblin village is ours. Leave or you'll be my snack."
Looking at the pack of direwolves beneath him, Henrik let out a gentle laugh, trying to maintain his heroic persona. After a moment, Henrik landed just a few metres from the wolf boss and asked him with a calm and respectful tone, "Direwolf boss. I, Henrik Lazek, am here to offer you the chance at building this forest into a great nation. A nation that will in time, be stronger than even the Eastern Empire.
Currently, I'm trying to create an agreement with the goblin chief, I'd be honoured if a mighty warrior such as yourself would join us. Naturally, all the food and power you could require will be provided to you as our nations citizens. What do you say, I know you hunt and kill to survive, but why not live in a land where you no longer have to kill to eat.
I get as direwolves you may have a primal instinct to fight, and I'm sure there'll be plenty of time for that in the future. Please, I'd much rather not take you away from your pack," Henrik said with a hint of threat in his final words.
[Chance of Direwolf boss accepting is less than 1%.
Recommendation: Kill direwolf boss and become leader of the pack].
'I know that. I just think showing a merciful and understanding approach will be better when recruiting the rest.'
After making his little speech, Henrik gave a small smile to the wolf closest to the boss while waiting for an answer. Right now, the goblins were observing Henrik to see if he really was strong.
In an instant, the direwolf boss pounced at Henrik at great speed, trying to end this fight quick. Henrik, however, was much faster than the wolf anticipated. He sidestepped the attack and in a cold voice warned the direwolf, "I won't dodge next time. Join us or leave. If you try to attack again, I'll be forced to defend myself."
Henrik knew that the wolf was unable to cause him any real damage, but he was trying to show the goblins and other wolves that he can be strong and just so he purposefully acted like it'd be the direwolf boss' fault when he died.
"No human can survive that. Come here, I'll kill you."
The direwolf once again attacked Henrik except this time, Henrik pointed a finger at the wolf and used the [Storm] magic to cast "Black Lighting". A move he learnt when analysing Veldora. The wolf was killed in an instant, but not before he could hear Henrik quietly say, "You underestimate us humans. There's a reason HE chose us."
After the direwolf boss was killed, all the goblins and wolves were shocked at how easy it was for this human to beat the strongest monster here. Well, unless you count Veldora, who is currently residing in [Stomach]. After a moment, one of the wolves came up to Henrik and bowed to him, showing Henrik their submission.
Henrik smiled at the wolves as one by one, they all were soon kneeling with their nose in the dirt, recognising their new alpha. Henrik, however, didn't like the feeling this gave him. After seeing Veldanava, he believed there was only one person who should be bowed too.
While holding his hands up in the air and speaking in an embarrassed voice, Henrik spoke to the wolves.
"Please don't do that. There's no need to bow, just say you're willing to join."
"But master, this is our way of becoming your servants," The lead direwolf, who sounded exactly like Ranga said.
"I understand but I have no intention of making servants off you all. Just friends who want to live peacefully and ensure others get that chance. Rather than a king or an alpha, I think I prefer the term Chancellor. That way, I'll have a council making decisions and not just me.
Tell me friend," Henrik said speaking directly to the one he'd name Ranga, "How would you like to be in charge of the direwolves from now on. You can serve as their representative on my council."
The direwolf looked at Henrik with grateful eyes of pure, almost childlike joy as he once again planted his face into the ground.
"Thank you master. I won't let you down. You have my word. Wolves, bow to the new boss." After receiving their orders, all the wolves smashed their head into the ground, bowing to Henrik.
Henrik, flustered at the bowing, asked them not to but no matter what he said, it seems this was too ingrained in them and they kept finding a way to bow to him.
'Guess we'll work on it,' Henrik thought to himself as he looked up into the sky and made a promise.
'Veldanava, I destroyed the safety of this world when I asked you to replace Rimuru with me, but I promise. I'll keep this world even safer than he would've.
Then one day, when we meet again, I'll make sure you have no regrets of reincarnating me. And don't worry, I'll take care of your little brother and daughter till you come back.'
After a moment of deep thought, Henrik was snapped by to reality by the goblin chief telling Henrik all the goblins have unanimously agreed to join him in making the Great Jura Forest a nation.
That left only one thing, naming all his new subordinates.
"Okay then, now time to name all of you."
