Chapter 10: Confront The Oldest and Youngest True Dragons.
This was it, after what seemed like years to Henrik was in fact only minutes since Velzard and Velgrynd began their sisterly conversation over who abandoned Milim more. Then after some good old fashioned power ups, it was time for Henrik to face his first real challenge. A fight against a True Dragon.
"I'll ask you again, where is Veldora human. If you tell me, I'll end you quick," Velzard said with her voice full of spite.
Henrik, knowing that no matter what, he'd be able to handle her, had a confident expression and since he was no longer around his subordinates, got rid of his heroic facade he put up since he met the goblins. And what was left, was the true person Veldanava reincarnated.
"Velzard, the eldest of the True Dragons. Or at least the oldest living one. I gotta admit, I'd hoped to have an entire army at my side before I confronted you and your demon lord lover. But it seems you found me this soon."
Velzard's face turned to pure shock as she realised this boy knew who she was, and even knew about Veldanava. To her, all that signalled was that Henrik was guilty of all the crimes she was accusing him off. Her fist clutched as she prepared to attack.
"Listen, I have no intention of fighting you, I'm willing to go our separate ways and forget this ever happened. We can even have a nice chat about your brothers. But only if you stand down. If you don't, I will defend myself.
Now, surly a woman your age knows a good deal when she's offered one," Henrik said jokingly.
Then, Henrik and Velzard heard a howl in the distance as well as the voice of hobgoblins coming to his aid. It was Ranga and his escort, and it seems Ranga called for backup from the camp.
Velzard, thinking this was a diversion, immediately went on the defensive and with a single step, she had summoned a large chunk of ice and hurled it towards the sound of backup.
The ice, as it got closer to its target, started to fracture and split, until there was hundreds of pieces flying in different directions. The smaller, yet still deadly, chunks of ice then began to strike at all the living creatures in its way. Monsters, harmless rabbits, nearby birds, it was as if the ice was homing onto sound itself as it moved.
"NO," Henrik yelled as he realised there was no way for his subordinates to avoid the ice. Given the speed of Velzard's attack, a moment after they see it, the escort and backup will be struck and there's no way they could survive.
Velzard then turned her attention back to Henrik and charged him, Veldanava warned her not to mess with the barrier, but since that was gone and Henrik was distracted, this was the best opportunity she'd get. Since she knew this man was no one to underestimate, she decided to stay in her human form since it was far more suited to prolonged battle. How wrong she was.
As she was charging at Henrik, he could feel through [King Of The Heroes, Arthur] that his subordinates were being picked off one by one. So far, about fifteen hobgoblins and six Lazek wolves were dead, some others barely holding on. Then, Henrik sensed the injury that would really get to his heart.
As Ranga was leading the wolves towards Henrik and taking cover, he'd underestimated the homing of this ice, and a piece had lodged itself into one of his vital organs. They were close enough for Henrik to hear Ranga's whimper as he fell, he heard the wolves howling as they spread the message of Ranga's defeat. And sensing his most loyal subordinate was fighting for his life, Henrik went berserk.
"You... YOU BITCH. I don't care whose sister you are, I'll make you pay." This sent a chilling feeling throughout Velzard, and with Henrik's blood lusted voice, Velzard began to realise she'd messed with the wrong human.
Then, Henrik had an idea that would allow him to face Velzard without having to fear for his subordinates. Using his ultimate skill [King Of The Heroes, Arthur], he could allow his subordinates to use [Multidimensional Barrier] through him.
'Raphael, do it.'
[Rerouting Multidimensional Barrier to all nearby subordinates through Ultimate Skill King of The Heroes, Arthur.
Successful]
Then, Henrik grabbed the fist of Velzard that was aiming for him and used her momentum to launch her into the wall she had punched him into a minute before.
"Stay there lizard," Henrik said with spite as he began using [Thought Communication] he had gotten from the Direwolf Boss to communicate with all his subordinates.
"Everyone, retreat back to the camp, we'll go to Dwargon another day. Gobta, Rigur, you two make sure Ranga gets back to camp. If you can't carry the dead, leave them. We can recover them later but for now, your lives are more important. That's an order."
Then, using their own [Thought Communication] skill, all his subordinates replied with a loud "YES, lord Henrik," and began to retreat.
"You," Velzard muttered as she stood up, "Where are my brothers? Tell me." Then, suddenly, she coughed up blood.
Henrik had punched her right in the gut after he imbued his fist with [Imaginary Collapse]. The punch had damaged Henrik's hand, but right now, he couldn't realise it as his mind was filled with anger.
"Listen here cold lizard, out of respect and gratitude to your elder brother, I'll tell you one thing. He's still dead. I don't know when or even if he will ever return, but if he does. I'll let him decide whether to tell you or not. As for your little brother, as punishment for killing multiple of my subordinates, I guess you'll never know."
Hearing these words did nothing but anger Velzard, however, she could do nothing as Henrik held her life in his hand. She could feel the power of [Imaginary Collapse] in his fist, power only Veldanava could ever manifest. And she knew if Henrik wanted to, she'd already be dead.
"Now listen, because I don't repeat myself. I will, for Veldanava, grant you this one mercy, this single time, I will allow you to keep your life. If I ever see you or your demon boyfriend in this forest again, you have my word, it will not end well for you.
Now, I have told you of your elder brother and allowed you to live, you will repay me by relaying a message to the Lord of Darkness.
If the demon lords come to this forest looking for a fight, if he uses this forest as a pawn in his fight against your sisters boy toy, I will end them. The Great Jura Forest is hereby the domain of King Henrik Lazek, and it is named The Great Lazek Kingdom. And if my mount dies from your attack, I'll come to that little Elsa castle of yours, and end you. And I'll send that red haired demon back to Hell."
The tone in Henrik's voice could only be described as absent. That combined with the power Velzard could feel from Henrik, only led to her almost dying of pure fright. She knew, just from these words, that this human man was not joking. And if she ever harmed his newly claimed land in any way, she knew it would be the final thing she would ever do.
And with that, and one more fist imbued with [Imaginary Collapse], Henrik sent Velzard flying, one punch and she was no longer in the forest. All that remained of her trip was her fear, her broken physical body, and a bunch of questions.
Why did the human she'd never met before act like he owed Veldanava?
Why was the barrier that surrounded him full of Veldanava's power?
And what the Hell is an Elsa palace?
"Wait, she doesn't know what an Elsa palace is. That insult would've been better if she knew. Oh well. Did I go too far? She did kill multiple of my subordinates, but I might have just ruined my chances of joining the demon lords. And if they decide to attack me, I'm not sure we can win. Sure I'm broken, and I'll live. But how many of my people will die in the process.
Damn Rimuru, how did you do this? I can think on this later. But I also need to decide how I'm going to progress. First Veldora, then I try to open relations with another country and Velzard attacks, sure not for that reason but still.
Maybe, that might actually work." Henrik said as he thought of a way to open relations without having to travel.
"Better get back to the camp. I'll store the dead in [Stomach] to get them all back home. They died charging head first to help me, it's the least I can do. But first. I best make sure the forest is safe."
Henrik then raised his hand into the air, took a deep breathe, exhaled and shouted at the top of his lungs, "You wanted to talk, lets talk. Veldora, come on out."
Then, a black hole like energy burst out of Henrik's hand and formed a large sphere in the sky that could be seen for miles. There was no doubt that anyone who saw this would be scared beyond belief, the lesser monsters would probably think that the end was here. But it was nothing compared to what appeared when the sphere disappeared back into Henrik's hand.
It was the Storm Dragon, Veldora. It had been weeks since his last rampage so naturally, the whole forest and nearest kingdoms believed that he had died again and they'd gotten a short respite from his terror. Now though, even nations away, the strongest people could sense the return of the feared dragon. And they began to plot their next move.
Back in the forest though, many monsters including the ogre survivors and lizard men all saw with their own eyes the return of Veldora. And it terrified them.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA. I have returned. Fear me mortal, the dreaded Veldora has return once again."
"Shut up," Henrik said still angered by Velzard and unimpressed at Veldora's attempt to be intimidating. It was clear Veldora was expecting some type of human army around him that would run in terror, not too much of an ask given his reputation but the only human around had just easily dispatched his more power sister, so there'd be no running in fear.
"Hey," Veldora said with a small pout to Henrik, "That's not nice. If I was Veldanava and told you to be scared, you would be wouldn't you."
"Not particularly. Veldanava wouldn't destroy everything in sight, be captured, and when released expect to be feared when the only person around him is his captor. I would know, I've known him longer than you. And no, I won't explain that. Not until I can trust you with the truth at least."
"What that he reincarnated you before even becoming Veldanava? Yeah I know that."
Henrik's mouth drops. His eyes go wide. "Ho.... How?"
Veldora then begins to explain in a voice that makes it seem like common knowledge. Most of the story is just tales of his old exploits, how he destroyed whole nations overnight for sport, terrorised Luminous. Thanks to the help of [Raphael] though, Henrik was able to take out the important parts get a good idea of how Veldora knows.
It seems that before Milim was born, Veldanava being the caring brother he was, tried to make Veldora see the error of his ways. He did by trying to explain the beauty of the world to his little brother, trying to make him see that even though showing him people and monsters enjoying their lives and smiling.
While trying to show his little brother, it seems Veldora asked if Veldanava ever regretted anything, and in a moment of weakness with his brother, he explained the tale of a man who died because he didn't stop Noire and Feldway from fighting. How someone was so effected that his mind became distorted, reality and delusion mixed and he took his friends life.
It seems Veldanava felt worse about Henrik's death then he knew before. While spilling the details to Veldora should've irritated Henrik, but knowing how much his death affected Veldanava just made Henrik smile. How many people can say that their death made God this upset.
"He really was a moron that brother of mine. Constantly seeing all you little humans as worthwhile. But despite his soft flaws, I loved him dearly, how he protected me from our sisters all those times. Then Milim was born and became his main priority, which fair enough, but it did lead to his death.
All those times he kept me alive, maybe if I hadn't been so destructive, I wouldn't have been banned from visiting. Maybe I'd have been there when those terrorists attacked. And then Veldanava would still be here," Veldora said with genuine regret on his face, before going back to his usual cocky self, "But hey, you should have seen what me and my sisters did to the ones who killed him.
It was a spectacle to behold. We also had help from some angel of his. Dino I think his name was, doesn't matter, he was too weak to be remembered."
"Well I'm truly glad to hear those bastards suffered. If any of them were still alive, I'd take great pleasure in making sure they suffer before death. Now, Veldora, you kept asking me to speak before Velzard attacked, what do you want?"
Veldora's expression softened for a minute since he thought a kinder face would make Henrik more agreeable.
"I want out. Not that your stomach isn't a nice home or anything, but I like my freedom. And I put the manga down for a minute and heard you wanted to make a kingdom. I don't know if you knew this, but the forest is usually thought to be mine. I'd be more than willing to offer it to you in return for a few things."
"Not that I need permission, but I did make a promise to look out for you and Milim. So I'll entertain your request as King and a friend. What do you want in return for your global proclamation that the forest is mine," Henrik said with a smile.
"Simple really. I want to live here, free to walk around and feel the wind on my scales. Also, I want manga. It's really mean to end the latest batch there. Admit it, you purposely ended the batch with Julius dying after saving the Clover Kingdom. Didn't you?"
Henrik let out a small giggle at this as he was caught red handed. "No clue what you're talking about, Julius dies (Sorry for any spoilers). I totally never knew that and knowing Julius was your favourite character ended the chapters there. Tell you what, if you're open to negations on the future, I'll let you out and give you the next 50 chapters. And all you have to do is agree to talk."
"DEAL." Veldora yelled as he became excited and his faced turned to one of victory.
"Lovely. Here's my offer. The first condition will be that you take human form from now on unless the nation is under attack and you need to turn big and black.
Second, you will officially join my nation and see me as your king. You won't be my subordinate officially but it will show the world that I have a True Dragon backing me. And one as feared as you will send a loud message to any potential enemies.
Third, you must work, you ain't freeloading off me. Twice a week, you will assume your draconic form and fly around the forest, you can kill any mindless beasts you want but you must contain your aura for now. I'll have a solution for your aura problem in the future.
Finally, you will respect my nations laws and as a symbol of The Great Lazek Kingdom, you will come with me on diplomatic missions and act as an envoy, looking out for the countries and our future allies best interests.
Comply with all of those conditions, and you'll be given a home in the palace I plan to build. You'll also get an appropriate amount of manga for your weekly cooperation. Oh, and I'll tell you this, if I give you more Black Clover, it isn't the last time you'll see Julius.
So what do you say, Storm Dragon Veldora?"
"I get manga every week if I uphold my end?"
"You do."
"Then I agree," Veldora said with a massive grin on his face before muttering to himself, "Ha, silly human. I get manga and to fight every week and you get virtually nothing. Sucker." Veldora could barely contain his laugh but neither could Henrik knowing the truth about Julius and the dark triad. But that's for later.
"Let's shake on it buddy." Veldora says with a grin.
"Yes lets buddy." Henrik says with an even bigger grin and Veldoras claw and Henrik's hand shake.

Hi, Omni_God2000 here.
Just wanted to make one quick announcement. After re reading the released chapters so far, I understand my grammar and wording is far from the best which is unacceptable given my native tongue is English. So I'll make sure to go over the chapters more in future before releasing them.
Apologies for the last 10 chapters.
