Chapter 8: Deep Dive Learning Space
After completing the payment, Lin Canghai and Lin Yun left the mall. The price after the discount was a total of 13,800 yuan. It was cheaper than Lin Canghai had expected.
"Son, are you really planning to major in computer engineering?" Lin Canghai asked, driving the mini truck.
"Yes, Dad," Lin Yun replied. "I'm confident I can excel in this field."
Lin Canghai nodded. "Alright. But remember, don't neglect your other subjects. A well-rounded education is important."
"I understand, Dad," Lin Yun assured him.
Upon arriving home, Lin Yun carried the boxes into his room and wasted no time in unpacking his new treasures. The computer, a sleek beige box, sat proudly on his desk, its monitor gleaming under the fluorescent light. The printer, a compact white machine, nestled beside it, its power cord snaking across the floor.
Although it was far from the aesthetic setup back on Earth, Lin Yun was more than satisfied with it.
Lin Yun carefully connected the cables, his fingers flying across the keyboard with practiced ease. The computer whirred to life, its fan humming softly in the background.
The familiar Megasoft Windows 2008 interface greeted him. He navigated the menus, opening the web browser and connecting to the internet.
The dial-up modem screeched to life, its high-pitched whine a familiar soundtrack to his teenage years.
Finally, the browser loaded, revealing the Booble homepage. Lin Yun smiled, his fingers itching to start coding. However, he didn't do anything but keep looking at the current online landscape.
A few hours later, Lin Yun looked at the clock and saw it was already 11:30 PM. He shut down the computer and hopped onto his bed, preparing to sleep.
"System." Lin Yun spoke up, and the system panel immediately appeared in front of him.
[Host: Lin Yun
Authority Level: 1
Next Level: 0/10,000
Age: 18
Strength: 67
Constitution: 73
Charisma: 81
Fund: 40 Yuan
Technology Points (TP): 0]
Lin Yun looked at the Authority Level thoughtfully. From the description, it was the limitation on his access to the technology in the Deep Dive Learning space.
"System, can I enter the Deep Dive Learning space now?" he asked in his mind.
A confirmation prompt flickered on the translucent screen before him.
[Please confirm your intent to enter the Deep Dive Learning Space. Entering the DDL space will initiate a deep sleep state. During this state, your physical body will remain dormant while your consciousness is transported to the virtual learning environment.]
[In the DDL space, you will have access to a vast library of knowledge and resources, enabling accelerated learning and skill acquisition. However, please note that any disruptions to your physical body during the deep sleep state may result in adverse consequences.]
[Do you wish to proceed? Yes/No]
Without a moment's hesitation, Lin Yun pressed the 'Yes' button. The system responded immediately.
[Confirmation received. Initiating pre-entry scan.]
A gentle blue light enveloped Lin Yun, scanning his body from head to toe.
[Scan complete. Physical condition: Optimal. Mental state: Stable. No abnormalities detected. You are cleared for entry.]
[Commencing Deep Dive Learning sequence.]
As the last words faded from the screen, a wave of drowsiness washed over Lin Yun. His eyelids grew heavy, his body relaxing into the soft embrace of his mattress. Within moments, he drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep.
He awoke to find himself standing in a vast, empty space. The floor beneath his feet was a pristine white, stretching out in all directions as far as the eye could see. The walls and ceiling were similarly blank, creating a sense of infinite expanse.
A soft, ethereal glow emanated from an unseen source, bathing the space in a gentle light. There was no sound, no movement, only a profound sense of stillness.
Lin Yun looked around, a sense of wonder filling him. This was the Deep Dive Learning Space, a realm of pure potential.
"Welcome, Master," a melodious voice echoed through the emptiness.
Lin Yun turned to find a woman standing a few feet away. She was tall and slender, with long, flowing silver hair and piercing blue eyes. Her features were delicate and ethereal, her skin glowing with an otherworldly luminescence.
She wore a simple white gown that shimmered with an iridescent sheen.
"Who are you?" Lin Yun asked, his voice a mere whisper in the vastness of the space.
"I am the AI guide for the Deep Dive Learning Space," the woman replied, her voice a soothing balm to his ears. "You may call me Luna, Logical Understanding Network Assistant."
Lin Yun nodded, his curiosity piqued. "What is this place?"
Luna smiled, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "This is a realm of infinite possibilities, Master. Here, you can learn anything you desire, at a pace that far surpasses the limitations of the physical world."
Lin Yun nodded slowly. This was exactly what he expected. "How does it work?"
Luna gestured towards the empty space around them. "This space is a blank canvas, Master. You can shape it to your will, creating any environment you desire."
As if to demonstrate, the space around them began to shift and transform. The blank walls dissolved, replaced by the familiar sight of his high school classroom. The white floor transformed into polished wood, and rows of desks and chairs materialized out of thin air.
"This is incredible." Lin Yun was amazed.
"You can create any environment that aids your learning. Whether it's a library, a laboratory, or even a simulated battlefield, the possibilities are endless." Luna said softly.
Lin Yun's mind raced with possibilities. He could recreate the laboratories of his past life, experimenting with cutting-edge technology without the constraints of budget or resources. He could build virtual worlds, testing his coding skills and pushing the boundaries of his imagination.
"But how do I actually learn?" he asked, eager to get started.
Luna smiled. "That is where the true magic of this space lies, Master. Here, time flows differently. One hour in the real world is equivalent to ten hours here."
"Ten to one?" Lin Yun was surprised.
"Yes," Luna confirmed. "This allows you to immerse yourself in your studies without the distractions of the physical world. You won't feel hunger or fatigue here, and your memory retention will be significantly enhanced."
Lin Yun's heart soared. He could finally catch up on all the knowledge he'd missed out on in his past life. He could become the tech genius he'd always dreamed of being.
"I'm ready," he declared, his voice filled with determination.
Luna nodded approvingly. "Excellent. Now, what would you like to learn first, Master?"
