Chapter 31: The Return of Kamal Singh
Kamal Singh, the celebrated superstar of Bharat's film industry, stepped off his international flight at Laal Bahadur Airport in Mumbai. Fresh from a high-profile shoot in the United States, he was hoping to quietly slip out and catch up on some much-needed rest. But as soon as he entered the arrivals area, a throng of reporters appeared out of nowhere, mics thrust forward and cameras flashing.
"Mr. Kamal! Mr. Kamal!" they called, eager to get his attention. Kamal was momentarily caught off guard, but quickly regained his composure, flashing them a polite, if slightly weary, smile.
"Welcome back! How was the shoot in the U.S.?" one reporter shouted.
"Exhausting, as always," Kamal replied with a chuckle. "But I think the film will be worth the effort. You'll see soon enough."
"What do you have to say about your cameo in Bloody Commando?" another reporter pressed, leaning forward eagerly.
Kamal couldn't help but laugh at the question. "You mean my two-minute appearance that somehow turned into the internet's favorite moment?" he said with a twinkle in his eye. He had initially accepted the role only because of Suraj's persistence and the young director's passionate explanation of how that cameo would set up future stories.
"People online have been going crazy about it!" another reporter added. "Do you think it's because of your charm, or…?"
Kamal chuckled, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Well, I'll let you decide that," he said with a grin. "All I know is, Suraj put in a lot of effort to make that scene meaningful. He has a vision, and it's refreshing."
The next question brought out the anticipation of fans everywhere. "And when can we expect a sequel?"
Kamal laughed, throwing his hands up playfully. "Ask the director! I'm just a humble actor who shows up when he calls me!"
The reporters laughed, already spinning out headlines from his responses. After a few more questions and some lighthearted banter, Kamal's bodyguards and manager guided him through the crowd and into his waiting car.
As the car pulled away, Kamal turned to his manager. "Let's set up a meeting with Suraj as soon as possible. There are things I want to discuss with him."
---
Later that Evening at Kamal Singh's Residence
Suraj arrived at Kamal Singh's home in the upscale neighborhood of Mumbai, an estate that was a picture of luxury. The driveway was lined with towering palms, and the mansion itself was a mix of contemporary and classic design, with expansive windows offering views of the cityscape. As Suraj entered, he noted the tasteful artwork on the walls, the plush seating, and the atmosphere of effortless elegance that perfectly fit a star of Kamal's stature.
In the spacious living room, Kamal greeted him with a warm handshake. "Suraj! Good to see you, my friend."
"Thank you for having me, Kamal sir," Suraj replied with a respectful nod. They settled into the comfortable seating, sharing a few pleasantries before Kamal got to the point.
"So, what's the word? When's the sequel happening?" Kamal asked, leaning back with a smile.
Suraj laughed, shaking his head. "I'd love to start it tomorrow, but frankly, I'm not sure I can afford your rates just yet!"
They both burst into laughter, breaking the formal tone of the meeting.
"Seriously though," Suraj continued, "Bloody Commando was just the beginning. I have bigger plans, and I'm not talking about just a single sequel." He reached into his bag and handed Kamal a bound script titled Raw's Rampage.
Kamal's curiosity was piqued. He started flipping through the pages, his expression shifting from interest to intrigue, and finally to admiration. When he finished, he looked up, visibly impressed. "You're planning to do something much bigger, aren't you? This isn't just another movie. You're building a universe here."
Suraj nodded, his eyes shining with excitement. "Exactly. Hollywood isn't the only place for cinematic universes. I want to create something rooted in Bharat's strength, bravery, and the sacrifices of people who made it possible."
Kamal was momentarily taken aback by Suraj's ambition. "This… this is bold, Suraj. And you're right. There's so much potential for a Bharat-centric cinematic universe. Raw's Rampage has a powerful story, and Ravan is such a compelling character."
He paused, a wistful look crossing his face. "Honestly, if I hadn't already done that cameo in Bloody Commando, I'd be jumping at the chance to play Ravan. The character has so many layers, and that journey… it's exactly the kind of role I live for."
Suraj grinned, pleased to see that his vision was resonating with Kamal. "That means a lot coming from you, Kamal sir. And don't worry—I'll have more roles that'll blow your mind."
Kamal extended his hand, a twinkle of excitement in his eye. "Consider me in, Suraj. Whenever you're ready, call me. Let's bring this vision to life and show the world what Bharat's storytelling can be."
Suraj shook his hand firmly, a sense of renewed confidence filling him. They were on the brink of something monumental, and he knew he had allies in his corner who believed in his vision as much as he did. Together, they were ready to create something that could shape Bharat's film industry for generations.
