Chapter 121: The Confrontation
Naturally, to avoid raising their suspicion, Draven explained that he had already "given up" Cain as a gesture of sincerity. Not only that, Lucan could have the three ladies, since he knew Lucan's desire for them was high.
Of course, he also explained why they needed to gather nine people, as it would be too suspicious not to have a valid reason for doing so.
The reason why he gathered nine people was because he had been warned to be extra cautious when dealing with Cain's group, having heard that they possessed an extremely powerful weapon as their trump card.
That was also why they invited Lucan and his protector since they knew that the protector was exceptionally strong.
This was why the arrangement was actually win-win for both sides, as each would get what they wanted.
After hearing the explanation clearly, Lucan's protector nodded lightly at Lucan since he didn't find anything strange with Draven's explanation.
"Alright, I'll join in, since I also can't wait to rip his head off for humiliating me before," Lucan finally agreed after thinking for a moment, tapping his fingers on the table.
He then asked Draven impatiently, "When will we take action?"
"We will take action immediately, since they are still not far from here," Draven said with a smile.
"Great! That's even better—let's go!" Lucan exclaimed, standing up from his seat excitedly.
Subsequently, four of them then walked towards the stairs as they intended to leave the building.
Their abrupt departure naturally attracted everyone's attention, as people were curious why they were leaving so suddenly after their conversation.
"Butler Zen, let's see what they are up to." Garran glanced at his protector as he got up from his seat and directly followed them behind.
"Young Master Garran, what if they're up to no good?" Butler Zen asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Tch, at worst, we'll just run away then. Aren't you confident in yourself?" Garran chuckled as he glanced at Butler Zen, teasing him for being overly cautious.
"If it's just about running away from any situation, I'm naturally confident in my strength," Butler Zen replied with a smile.
"As expected of you, Butler Zen." Garran nudged him lightly.
The moment Garran and Butler Zen stepped out of the building, they were confronted by Lucan and his companions, who stood not far from the large doors.
Lucan shouted angrily at Garran, "Garran, what the fuck are you doing!"
Garran frowned at Lucan's question. "Lucan, you've gone too far! Do you think I can't go wherever I want? Who do you think you are, my dad?"
"Then why the fuck did you say you were going to follow someone just now?" Lucan pressed, not backing down, as he had been watching Garran's movements, suspecting he might act on his personality.
"Tch, tch, tch. You're overthinking! I'm not going to follow you anyway." Garran clicked his tongue, shaking his head.
Lucan gritted his teeth upon hearing that, pointing a finger at Garran. "You've acted like this a few times already, Garran! This isn't your first time—are you dumb or what?!"
"Oh, really?" Garran scratched his head in embarrassment, then shamelessly pointed at Draven. "Well, let's say I'm following them this time."
He then looked at Draven with a smug expression and asked, "Do you have any problem with that?"

Lucan and the others were speechless with Garran's shamelessness that even Butler Zen was also speechless as he put his palm on his face, feeling embarrassed.
Draven could only stay silent and glance at Lucan helplessly as he didn't want to offend any of them. Read exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire
However, before Lucan could argue any further, his protector immediately spoke. "Young Master Lucan, let them follow us however they want."
The reason why he let Garran and Butler Zen follow them was because he actually hadn't completely trusted Draven, as he thought that it would definitely be safer in case things went south and it was actually a trap.
When Lucan heard it, he clicked his tongue and glanced at Draven. "Tch, let's go! Don't mind them and act as if they aren't here."
Luca followed his protector's advice because he thought that his protector must have his own reason why he advised it, and he didn't want to bother knowing it since they were also in a hurry.
When they got out of the city, Garran and Butler Zen were surprised as they noticed that there were eight people standing below a huge tree as if they had been waiting for them in the first place.
"Young Master Garran, they've all reached the peak of the Conqueror Rank. Are you sure you still want to follow them?" Butler Zen asked lightly, watching Garran's reaction upon hearing that they were all on his level.
However, he was disappointed when he saw Garran's expression that was of excitement instead of fear.
"Isn't it interesting? They're probably planning to ambush Cain's group anyway. Let's see how this plays out first," Garran responded with a smile.
…
Back to the current time…
After telling Fenix his simple plan, Cain then patted Nix, instructing him to stop as he wanted to welcome them warmly.
Less than a minute later, Cain finally noticed 14 people approach them at a fast speed before stopping when their distance was about 500 meters away from each other.
"What are you all doing following us with so many people?" Cain asked nonchalantly, sweeping his gaze over the group before pausing on Garran briefly.
Garran frowned slightly when he saw Cain's unwavering composure; it surprised him that Cain didn't look at all panicked or frightened in such a dire situation.
He thought that it was either he was bluffing or just the confidence that they would be okay even with this dire situation they were in.
Hearing Cain's calm question, Lucan frowned momentarily before bursting into laughter. "I admire your courage for staying so calm, but that alone won't improve your predicament."
"I'll take that as a compliment, thanks." Cain only nodded in response.
Seeing Cain remain composed, Lucan goaded him further as he glanced at Draven's group, "Did you know you have so many enemies that someone sent nine people at once to deal with you?"
"I honestly don't recall having so many enemies that they'd send this many people after me," Cain chuckled, eyeing Draven's group with a furrowed brow. "Who are you, and who sent you?"
Cain was genuinely puzzled to see so many people after him because, as far as he knew, he hadn't offended any force capable of amassing such a powerful group.
Let alone the fact that Lucan stated he wasn't with these people, this fact just made him become more confused as he thought that these people were with Lucan since the only force that he had offended and was able to gather that many strong people in this world was only the Pyrrath Family.
"You don't need to know who sent us," Draven said, shaking his head, before pointing at Anya. "But if you want us to step back, hand over that beautiful lady in the white gown behind you."
When Cain heard it, he suddenly had an inkling of their identity. He quietly asked the system to perform a thorough scan of them, including any treasures they carried.
As Cain found a few compasses and checked their descriptions, he immediately understood their purposes because Cain also remembered that the little creature reminded him to not use his bloodline frequently unless it's necessary.
This might be the reason why the system had reminded him to get stronger quickly, as there will be an unknown disaster coming for him sooner or later.
Cain guessed that this might be the unknown disaster that the system had mentioned earlier. However, after thinking for a little bit more, he didn't want to think that this was the one the system mentioned.
Because he needed to think about the worst-case scenario, such as strong people were waiting for him in the Main World or other possibilities.
Cain then set aside his thoughts as there was an important matter in front of him.
"Do you have a mental problem, buddy? Why don't you hand over your mom first, and then I'll consider your request?" Cain chuckled, flashing a mocking grin at Draven.
When Draven heard it, he immediately became pissed since Cain could still make such a statement despite his dire situation.
Before Draven could order an attack on Cain at once, he was stopped by Old Yan as he was tapped on his shoulder.
"Calm down your anger, Young Master Draven." Old Yan reminded him.
Cain shook his head lightly before shifting his gaze towards Garran.
"Are you with them too?" Cain asked while showing a wicked smile since he wanted to confirm Garran's intention first before thinking of how to deal with them further.
Garran had been paying attention to Cain's expression all this time before he decided which stance he would take in this situation.
That's why the moment Cain asked him about his stance, he finally made a choice that no one had expected, not even Butler Zen.
"No, no, no. I'm not with them." Garran waved his hand dismissively before explaining it further to avoid any misunderstanding.
"I told you that we're friends, right? That's why I'm here." Garran said with a smile before shrugging his shoulders. "Even though I can't help you much, I can at least interfere with Lucan and his protector so that they wouldn't be able to do anything funny. I'm sorry, but that's the most I can help you with."
