Soul Land: I am not convinced

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Price of Power

"En." Ye Feng nodded in response.

"Wait, you mean to say that you have awakened the Three Martial Soul?" Ning Fengzhi asked, his tone filled with disbelief.

"Yes." Ye Feng nodded confidently.

Ning Fengzhi and Chen Xin exchanged looks, their eyes wide with shock. It was clear that neither of them expected to hear such a thing.

"What is your third martial soul?" Ning Fengzhi asked, his curiosity now piqued. He still couldn't fully believe what Ye Feng had claimed. The notion of someone having the Three Martial Soul was almost unheard of.

Three Martial Souls!

Such a soul was legendary. If someone were to awaken it, they would receive a total of 27 soul rings—a terrifyingly powerful concept.

"My third martial soul is called the Eye of Hell," Ye Feng announced, calling forth his third martial soul.

As he spoke, Ye Feng's eyes turned pitch black. The strange, dull color of his eyes seemed to draw the soul in, and if someone stared into them too long, it felt as though they might lose themselves in the depths.

"Three Martial Soul!"

"Three Martial Soul!"

Both Ning Fengzhi and Chen Xin blurted out in shock. They stood frozen, their gazes locked on Ye Feng as if they couldn't believe what they were seeing. It wasn't until Ye Feng retracted his Hell Eye that they slowly came back to their senses.

"Uncle Sword, you've found a treasure this time!" Ning Fengzhi smiled, his voice full of genuine happiness. He looked at Ye Feng as though he were seeing a precious gem. "Congratulations, this is extraordinary."

"Indeed," Sword Douluo smiled, his gaze turning fiery as he looked at Ye Feng. "This trip to the Barak Kingdom was well worth it. Ye Feng, you must remember this: Never tell anyone that you possess the Three Martial Soul. To the outside world, you must claim that your martial soul is simply a superior one from the Spirit Palace. Understand?"

"Understood, master," Ye Feng replied, nodding seriously. After a brief pause, he asked teasingly, "Master, can I add a soul ring to my third martial soul?"

Sword Douluo, startled by the question, blinked. His eyebrows furrowed as he realized Ye Feng was joking.

Ye Feng was clearly trying to show off by claiming he had the Three Martial Soul, something not easily believed by anyone. Sword Douluo had seen his fair share of bragging, but he didn't expect such a bold statement.

"No," Sword Douluo answered sternly. "Your third martial soul and second martial soul must evolve in the same way. Only after you become a Title Douluo can you attach soul rings to them. When that happens, your second and third martial souls will both require soul rings with a lifespan of over ten thousand years."

"Ten thousand years?" Ye Feng asked with an indifferent tone, as though the concept of ten-thousand-year soul rings didn't impress him much.

"Yes," Sword Douluo affirmed with a nod. "Ten thousand years."

Sword Douluo didn't notice Ye Feng's tone of dissatisfaction, but Ye Feng couldn't help but feel that ten thousand years was just... a bit too little for his ambitions.

"Come here, disciple." Sword Douluo called out the Spirit Seven Kill Sword, motioning for Ye Feng to stand on it. He then rose into the air, taking Ye Feng with him as they flew to a nearby mountain.

The surrounding landscape of Holy Soul Village was covered by tall mountains and rivers. Ahead of them, a massive peak stood in their path. Sword Douluo 's eyes glowed silver as he focused his power.

"Watch closely, Ye Feng," Sword Douluo said, his tone serious.

With a mighty wave of his hand, the power of the Seven Kill Sword surged, and a blade hundreds of feet long materialized. Sword Douluo 's spirit and his sword were as one. Without hesitation, he brought the sword down with immense force toward the mountain ahead.

Boom!

The earth trembled violently as a blinding light filled the air. The shockwave of the strike spread out, causing everything around them to ripple with energy.

"Sword Dao Chenxin!" Tang Hao muttered in shock from a distance.

Tang Hao sensed the fluctuation of soul power and immediately recognized the presence of Sword Douluo.

Meanwhile, Old Jack, who had been walking with crutches, turned toward Tang Hao. "I've made up my mind. This year, we'll send Xiao San to the Notting City Junior Soul Master Academy. We'll cover all the travel expenses. It's settled. Now, what happened over there?"

Tang Hao ignored Old Jack's questions. His mind was too occupied with the bizarre spectacle unfolding before him. He couldn't understand why Sword Douluo was attacking the mountain near Holy Soul Village, but something in his heart told him it wasn't related to him.

On top of the mountain, Ye Feng watched in awe as the steep peak—once towering at over a hundred meters—was cleaved in two by Sword Douluo 's strike. A large path now stretched through the mountainside, providing a direct route to the outside world. This would be a boon to the villagers who needed to travel to sell their goods.

"Did you see it clearly?" Sword Douluo asked with a grin.

"En." Ye Feng nodded slowly, then shook his head, and nodded again. His mind was still processing what had just happened.

The scene before him was surreal. He remembered the motion of Sword Douluo 's sword, but when he tried to grasp its essence, it felt as though it was slipping through his fingers. It was an experience that seemed to exist yet didn't quite, as if it were a dream.

"Don't worry," Sword Douluo said, sensing Ye Feng's confusion. He gently patted Ye Feng's head. "That move is called the Fusion of Sword and Heart. It's a unique soul skill passed down through my family, the Chen family. It took me ten years to comprehend it fully when I first learned it."

Ye Feng nodded, impressed. "Master, I'll remember it."

At that moment, Ning Fengzhi arrived at the mountaintop.

"Alright, I must take my leave," Sword Douluo said. "If you're determined to attend the Junior Soul Master Academy, I won't stop you. Fengzhi and I have some matters to discuss. But I will return to help you obtain your first three soul rings."

"Okay, master," Ye Feng responded obediently.

"Fengzhi, let's go." Sword Douluo motioned to Ning Fengzhi.

"Wait, master!" Ye Feng called out anxiously.

Sword Douluo turned, a raised eyebrow indicating curiosity. "What is it, disciple?"

"I don't have anything special to ask... Master, do you have any money?" Ye Feng asked, his face slightly red with embarrassment.

"Money?" Sword Douluo blinked, clearly surprised by the question.

"Yes," Ye Feng explained awkwardly. "To enter the academy, there's a registration fee. It's not much, just five gold soul coins. Don't worry, I'll pay you back when I have the money."

The two of them burst out laughing.

"Hahaha!"

"Hahaha!"

Ning Fengzhi chuckled and pulled out a black card from his soul guide. "This card has fifty gold soul coins in it. You can use it as you wish, no need to pay it back. Uncle Sword has already given you a gift, so take this as a meeting gift from me."

Ye Feng was stunned but grateful. "Thank you, master. Thank you, Uncle Ning."

With that, the three of them parted ways, the future ahead of Ye Feng brimming with possibilities.
