Soul Land: I am not convinced

Chapter 12: Chapter 12

"100 points?"

Ye Feng was stunned.

This time, after overturning the story of bed-making, he received 100 attribute points, a huge increase compared to the more than 30 points he earned for becoming the boss over Xiao Wu.

What should he allocate the points to now?

Power?

Agility?

Spirit?

Defense?

...

After Wang Sheng, Xiao Wu, Tang San, and Ye Feng had gotten acquainted, Wang Sheng, as a senior, thought that the work-study students hadn't cleaned yet and probably didn't have much pocket money. So, he generously offered to invite the three of them to dinner.

The cafeteria at Notting College was large enough to accommodate all the teachers and students at the same time. As soon as they entered, a mouth-watering aroma filled the air.

"Wow, it's so big!"

Xiao Wu looked around in awe, seemingly fascinated by the size of the cafeteria. Her innocent wonder made it hard not to attract attention.

No sooner had Ye Feng and Xiao Wu stepped inside than a voice from the second floor broke the peace.

"Isn't this Wang Sheng's gang of poor ghosts? Poor ghosts are poor ghosts. I bet they'll never get to eat on the second floor."

Ye Feng and Xiao Wu followed the voice and saw three male students, about eleven or twelve years old, standing on the second-floor railing, mocking Wang Sheng and the others.

When Xiao Wu heard this, her anger flared, and she retorted, "Why are you so annoying when you talk? Is there something special about the second floor?"

"Hey, what a beautiful little loli. Too bad you're a work-study student. Otherwise, I'd be very interested in playing with you." The senior mocked Xiao Wu with disdain from above.

"Xiao Wu, the second floor is a place where you can order food privately. It's expensive. We're work-study students, so we can't afford it," Wang Sheng explained in a low voice. He added, "Xiao Wu, Boss, Tang San, let's go over there to get the lunch boxes. That guy is Xiao Chenyu, the boss of the academy. Just ignore them."

"Haha, good to know."

Wang Sheng's words were quiet, but Xiao Chenyu overheard them. He smiled mockingly. Seeing Wang Sheng's cowed reaction, he felt it was pointless to keep bullying him and turned away. "Wang Sheng, I'll let you off this time. I'm going to eat now."

"Dammit. Don't bring such bullies!" Xiao Wu was furious, clenching her fists, ready to march up the stairs and teach Xiao Chenyu a lesson.

Before she could take a step, someone grabbed her hand.

"Tang San?" Xiao Wu frowned, glancing at him suspiciously.

"We're here to eat, don't cause trouble," Tang San persuaded.

"Tang San, you're so timid," Xiao Wu frowned harder, visibly disappointed with Tang San.

"Xiao Wu, you misunderstood. We're new students. It's not good to provoke trouble. But if they actively cross the line, they'll be dealt with," Tang San explained.

"Tang San, isn't this an active violation? They've already peed on our heads." Xiao Wu placed her hands on her hips angrily, looking at Ye Feng. "Ye Feng, you're the boss here. What do you think we should do?"

"Teacher!"

At that moment, Tang San noticed a middle-aged man entering the cafeteria—it was his teacher, Yu Xiaogang. He quickly walked over to him.

After Tang San spoke to his teacher and returned to the group, Wang Sheng couldn't help but ask, "You worship Master as your teacher?"

Tang San nodded.

Wang Sheng looked puzzled and explained, "No way. His strength isn't great. I heard he's only in the academy because of his connection to the dean. To put it bluntly, he's a free eater. He's 50 years old and still not even a great soul master. His soul power is only level 29. At this rate, it seems he'll never break through."

When Tang San heard this, his eyes grew sharp. "This is the first and last time you insult my teacher. If you don't want to compete, then please don't speak ill of him. Thank you for your concern."

After Tang San spoke, he turned and walked out of the cafeteria to eat the dry food he had prepared, leaving Wang Sheng stunned.

"What did I do wrong? I wasn't mocking him. I was just trying to help him, not waste his life on that teacher," Wang Sheng muttered, still confused.

"His self-esteem is too high," Ye Feng said.

Ye Feng knew Tang San's background as a time traveler. Tang San was someone who pursued perfection so obsessively that he couldn't tolerate any imperfections in his life. In his previous life, when his past was exposed, he impulsively jumped off a cliff to prove his resolve.

When self-esteem becomes that warped, it's no surprise that Tang San made such decisions.

"No, this is crazy!" Xiao Wu pouted in disdain. "He's too stubborn."

Ye Feng glanced at Xiao Wu.

When self-esteem becomes that abnormal, it's more accurate to call it a mental disorder.

In the original storyline, Tang San's inability to acknowledge his ancestry and return to his roots was due to his obsessive pursuit of perfection. This drove him to even calculate Xiao Wu's 10-year soul ring, just to meet the conditions set by the Haotian School's second elder and return to his clan.

"Ye Feng, you haven't said anything yet. What should we do? Should we teach him a lesson?" Xiao Wu asked again.

"Let's go to the second floor for dinner," Ye Feng replied calmly.

"Boss, the second floor is a private dining area. One dish costs what we make in a few days," Wang Sheng whispered, explaining his hesitation. If they went to the second floor, he wouldn't be able to afford it.

"I'll pay," Ye Feng said.

"You?" Wang Sheng looked at him skeptically.

"Yeah. Wang Sheng, go gather the others from Qishe," Ye Feng said as he walked toward the stairs leading to the second floor.

"Boss, are you sure you want to invite everyone?" Wang Sheng asked in surprise.

Ye Feng didn't respond and continued up the stairs.

"Boss, you don't want to invite that many people, do you?" Wang Sheng was stunned, but when he saw Ye Feng walking without hesitation, he froze in place.

As a rabbit, Xiao Wu loved this kind of thing and was excited. She gently patted Wang Sheng's shoulder and urged him, "Hurry up."

Wang Sheng nodded and went to find the other work-study students from Qishe.

With a smile, Xiao Wu walked lightly up to the second floor, where Ye Feng was already sitting at the head of a table, calmly staring at Xiao Chenyu, who was sitting across from him.

Ye Feng's sharp eyes never left Xiao Chenyu.
