Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Ye Feng, Who Doesn’t Follow the Routine
"Two storylines, and I got three attribute points?" Ye Feng was astonished.
When Ye Feng entered the gate of Notting College, he had subverted a minor storyline and was rewarded with an attribute point that could be distributed arbitrarily. Now, having become the boss of the work-study dorm, he was rewarded with three attribute points that could also be allocated freely.
Ye Feng knew the immense value of these attribute points.
"You can call me whatever you want—Ye Feng, Ye Boss, or Boss," Ye Feng said casually.
"Then... should I just call you Ye Feng?" Xiao Wu rolled her eyes. How could she, the little sister of the Titan Giant Ape and the Sky Blue Bull Python, possibly feel embarrassed by this?
"Sure, as long as you know in your heart that I'm the boss of the work-study dorm," Ye Feng replied with a smile.
"Ye Feng, can you tell me what soul skill you used just now?" Xiao Wu asked curiously.
"I haven't obtained a soul ring yet, so I don't have any soul skills. What I used earlier was just a fighting technique," Ye Feng explained.
"Fighting skills?" Xiao Wu was even more curious now.
"Yes, it's called the 'Hooligan's Style of Play.' It's a technique commonly used by idlers," Ye Feng nodded.
"Well, it's certainly a bit of a hooligan move!" Xiao Wu laughed. She couldn't help but blush when she remembered how she had been defeated by Ye Feng just moments ago.
Meanwhile, Tang San glanced at Ye Feng. He always felt like Ye Feng was hiding something. After all, Ye Feng, like him, had mostly lived in the Holy Soul Village and had barely interacted with anyone else. How could someone who had only mixed with their peers be so skilled?
In truth, Tang San didn't know that Ye Feng had accumulated experience in his previous life.
Tang San turned to Xiao Wu and asked curiously, "What about you, Xiao Wu? What was your fighting style like?"
"I used soft skills," Xiao Wu replied.
"Soft skills?" Tang San repeated, clearly intrigued.
"A technique that utilizes the softness and tenacity of the body," Xiao Wu explained simply.
Tang San fell into deep thought. He felt that if he were to fight Xiao Wu, as long as he took advantage of her unpreparedness and reacted faster, he would be able to defeat her just like Ye Feng had.
"Ye Feng, what level is your soul power? I could feel that your strength was extraordinary just now," Xiao Wu asked, her curiosity piqued.
"I... am at level 10," Ye Feng paused, then answered as stated on his Spirit Hall certificate.
"Level 10?" Xiao Wu stared at him in disbelief.
"How old are you?" Xiao Wu asked again.
"Six years old," Ye Feng answered truthfully.
"Six years old?" Xiao Wu was stunned. After a brief pause, she thought for a moment before asking, "But you mentioned that you haven't obtained a soul ring yet. How is your soul power level 10?"
"Yes, because I have an innate soul power level of 20," Ye Feng replied.
"Innate full soul power at level 20!" Xiao Wu was completely shocked. She looked at Ye Feng again, her gaze filled with awe. The little boy in front of her had more soul power than her transformed, 100,000-year-old soul beast.
"Who are you, Tang San?"
At that moment, a teacher with light green hair walked into the work-study dormitory, holding a quilt in his hand.
"I'm here."
"I am Teacher Mo, and this quilt is from the master," the teacher said.
"Thank you, Teacher Mo," Tang San responded politely.
"Tang San, Ye Feng, and Xiao Wu are all first-year work-study students. They will be in charge of the garden to the south of the playground, earning ten copper soul coins per day. If they fall behind in their work, they will be dismissed from school. Tomorrow will be the opening ceremony and the day after will be the start of classes. You'll begin work then. I'll conduct spot checks from time to time, so feel free to ask Wang Sheng if you need anything clarified," Teacher Mo explained before leaving the dormitory.
Xiao Wu glanced around, looking at the beds of the other students and then at her bed. Finally, her gaze fell on the quilt that Tang San was holding.
"Xiao Wu, you can use mine," Wang Sheng offered with a friendly smile.
"Xiao Wu, mine too! It was exposed to the sun earlier," another student said.
"It's rare to have such a little girl come here, so of course, we should take good care of her!" Wang Sheng and the others eagerly offered their quilts.
Xiao Wu scanned the quilts in their hands, but they were all dirty. Finally, her eyes landed on the quilt in Tang San's arms.
Tang San was momentarily stunned, instinctively clutching the quilt closer to his chest.
"You..." Xiao Wu hesitated, then asked, "By the way, I still don't know your name."
"My name is Tang San," he replied.
"Tang San, can I ask you for something?" Xiao Wu smiled shyly.
"What's the matter?" Tang San frowned slightly, becoming wary.
"Look, your quilt is big enough for two people to share. How about we put the beds together and sleep under the same quilt? Is that okay?" Xiao Wu asked, her face turning pink.
"What?" Tang San stared at her in surprise, quickly declining, "That's not appropriate. You're a girl, and I'm a boy. Boys and girls can't share a bed."
"Correct," Ye Feng chimed in before Xiao Wu could reply, "Tang San is right. Boys and girls can't share a bed. Though we're still young, and there's no visible difference, it would still be inappropriate for your reputation if this got out."
"But... I forgot to bring bedding from home!" Xiao Wu lowered her head, sadness crossing her face as she thought of her mother.
"I'll give you mine!" Ye Feng said as he touched the bracelet on his wrist, flicking his fingers to produce a white quilt from it.
The quilt was pink, with delicate embroidery patterns on it. It was soft to the touch, far higher in quality than Tang San's, made from silk.
Xiao Wu took the quilt from Ye Feng, smiling gratefully. She hesitated for a moment, then looked at him with concern. "What about you?"
"Don't worry, I have one too," Ye Feng replied with a smile. He touched his wrist again and, as if by magic, produced another quilt. Looking at Tang San's surprised face, Ye Feng explained, "Neither Tang San nor I brought bedding, so we bought two quilts from a hotel on the way here. Originally, the quilt was for Tang San, but since you forgot to bring yours, it's a perfect fit."
"Thank you, Ye Feng," Xiao Wu said with gratitude.
"You're welcome," Ye Feng replied with a smile.
Ye Feng looked at Tang San and then at Xiao Wu. He didn't understand why fan fiction always had characters sharing beds. Wasn't it better for everyone to sleep in separate beds, undisturbed by anyone, to enjoy peaceful dreams?
"Ding dong!"
"Congratulations! You've overturned the Douluo storyline: prevented Xiao Wu from sharing a bed with Tang San and gave Xiao Wu a quilt as a gift. Attribute points rewarded: 100 points."
As Xiao Wu and Ye Feng spread out their quilts, Xiao Wu's face turned red again. She noticed that on both her and Ye Feng's quilts, there were four large characters embroidered on them: From the Beginning to the End, Together Forever.
Xiao Wu looked at Ye Feng, realizing their quilts were meant for a couple.
