So I'm John Lawrence's son

Chapter 23: Chapter 23"The Tournament Part 2

The gym was buzzing with the energy of the All-Valley tournament finals. With every punch, every move, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause, creating a symphony of excitement and anticipation. Jack, in a fighting stance, stared at Robby with determination. This was the moment he had been waiting for, the chance to prove his worth and fight for what he believed in.

Across the mat, Robby prepared for the fight. He felt the weight of responsibility, the pressure of representing himself and his sensei, honoring Daniel LaRusso's teachings. But there was something else at stake: Samantha's respect and the chance to show his father who was the best.

Daniel, his gaze fixed on Robby, exuded confidence and serenity. "Remember your balance, Robby," he instructed, his voice calm and firm. "Use your opponent's strength against him. And above all, fight with honor."

Johnny Lawrence, for his part, watched the fight with a lump in his throat. His son and his student face to face, fighting for the title. He felt divided, his heart torn between pride and apprehension. "May the best man win," he murmured, hoping that both would come out of that fight with their heads held high.

In the stands, Samantha was writhing with nervousness. She couldn't decide who to root for, her heart divided between Jack and Robby. Miguel, watching from afar, felt his jealousy grow with every glance Samantha threw in Robby's direction - and also for Jack. Moon, for her part, didn't hide her support for Jack, screaming his name at the top of her lungs with every point he scored.

Eli, his jaw still sore from the unfair blow he had dealt Robby in the previous fight, watched everything with a mixture of remorse and frustration. "I was an idiot," he thought, ashamed of his actions. But, seeing Moon cheer at every move Jack made, jealousy gnaw at him inside. "That guy is my friend, but this shit makes me angry," he grumbled, clenching his fists.

Meanwhile, the fight between Jack and Robby began.

The referee called the fight to a close, and Jack and Robby engaged in a fierce battle. Their blows were quick and precise, each movement calculated to throw their opponent off balance. Jack, with his brute strength and unpredictable fighting style, put pressure on Robby, who defended himself with agility and refined technique.

— "Come on, Jack! Finish him!" Moon shouted, euphoric.

— "Robby, you can do it! Remember what I taught you!" Daniel encouraged, his voice firm.

Johnny Lawrence watched the fight in silence, his eyes following every move of Jack and Robby. He saw the potential in both of them, the strength, determination and technique that each demonstrated. "They are incredible," he thought, with a mixture of pride and apprehension.

Jack and Robby traded blows and dodges, testing each other's limits. Jack, with his height and strength, was able to deliver powerful blows, but Robby made up for it with his speed and agility, dodging the attacks and counterattacking with quick and precise kicks.

The fight dragged on, and the tension in the gym increased. The crowd cheered and applauded, encouraging their favorite fighters. Jack and Robby, exhausted but determined, continued to fight, seeking victory at any cost.

Robby, his back and arm sore from Eli's blows, felt his movements become slower, heavier. Jack saw the opening and intensified his attacks, pressing Robby mercilessly.

In a moment of distraction from Robby, Jack took advantage of the opportunity and delivered a quick and accurate blow, hitting Robby in the chest and knocking him to the mat. The referee stopped the fight, declaring Jack the winner.

The gym erupted in applause and cheers. Jack, panting but victorious, looked at his father and glanced at Samantha. She had a look in her eyes that was... unreadable. It was a mixture of admiration for Jack's victory, concern for Robby, and maybe a hint of disappointment that Robby hadn't won.

Miguel, frustrated by his defeat and jealous of Jack, left the gym without saying a word. Eli, embarrassed by his disloyal attitude and jealous of Moon, hid in the crowd. Moon ran towards Jack, hugging him enthusiastically and congratulating him on his victory.

— "You were amazing, Jack!" Moon exclaimed, her eyes shining. "I knew you would win!"

Before Jack could respond, Moon surprised him with a quick kiss on the lips. Jack was speechless, surprised by Moon's boldness. She pulled away, with a mischievous smile, and whispered in his ear:

— "Congratulations, champion."

Samantha watched the scene, and a lump formed in her throat. A wave of emotions washed over her—confusion, frustration, and a pang of jealousy she couldn't deny. "Why am I feeling this way?" she wondered, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill over. "I should be happy for him, but…"

She remembered all the times Jack had stood up for her, how he had made her feel safe and special. The hints she had dropped, hoping he would understand her feelings. Doesn't he realize? she thought, feeling a mixture of anger and sadness. Or does he just not care?

The image of Moon kissing Jack made her chest tighten. "Does he really like her?" she wondered, feeling lost and confused. "I was an idiot for not confessing myself sooner. It's too late now."

Johnny Lawrence approached Jack, a proud smile on his face.

— "Congratulations, Jack," he said, his voice hoarse. "You fought like a true champion."

Johnny then walked over to Robby, who was being held by Daniel.

— "Robby, you were amazing," Johnny said sincerely. "You fought with honor and bravery. I'm proud of you."

Robby, his face bruised and his expression haggard, looked at Johnny resentfully.

— "You've got to be kidding me," Robby replied, his voice bitter. "You spent the entire tournament rooting for the other guy. For what? To humiliate me even more?"

Johnny tried to explain himself, but Robby interrupted him.

— "I don't want to hear your excuses," Robby said angrily. "You never really cared about me. You only care about Cobra Kai and your students."

With that said, Robby turned and left the gym, leaving Johnny Lawrence heartbroken.

Jack watched the scene, feeling a pang of sympathy for Robby. He didn't understand the boy's anger, but he could feel the pain in his words. And for the first time, Jack wondered if the victory had been worth it.
