Chapter 164: Superhuman Physique.
At the top of the massive sinkhole, the Short Bladefiend stood at the edge, hopping excitedly as it let out strange, high-pitched cries to cheer its partner.
"AAWHOO! AAWHOO!"
Below, the Burly Bladefiend was struggling to climb up, its massive body making the ascent painfully slow.
Its sharp arm blades stabbed into the hole's wall, barely giving it enough support as it hauled itself upward, inch by inch.
The two monsters ignored the fallen human, as getting out of the hole was more important than fighting the injured human whom they could bury in the hole later.
A few moments later, the burly Bladefiend had almost reached the top of the sinkhole.
The Short Bladefiend leaned forward to help its partner as it stretched its hand to grasp the Burly Bladefiend's arm.
"AWHOO AWHHOO!"
The Short Bladefiend howled in happiness as it started pulling the Burly Bladefiend up, and as it did so, it didn't realise the shift under the ground behind it.
"AAWHHOOOO!!!"
The Burly Bladefiend howled in joy as its hand finally held onto the ground up above, the other Bladefiend quickly grabbing onto it as they could finally have each other's back again.
With two of its hands stretching out to hold onto the above ground, the Burly Bladefiend turned its head excitedly to look at the surface tunnel.
And that was when.... it saw something.... terrifying.
A silver-haired boy's body slowly rose above the earth, a chilling grin on his face as he held a sword, with blood dripping down from his waist to the ground.
"AWH- AWHHOO!!"
The Burly Bladefiend was a little too late to howl this time as the boy flashed from his position and rushed towards them at an extreme speed.
'Agility Burst!'
The Short Bladefiend became confused by its partner's howl as it curiously turned around, only to be met with a wind of dust and rocks.
'Dust Blast!'
The Short Bladefiend shielded its eyes from the dust attack to protect itself, but a figure dashed into the debris and stabbed his sword into the monster.
"That's my revenge for the wound, bastard!"
Felix shouted as he pushed his sword deeper into the Bladefiend, kicking off the ground as he jumped back into the hole along with the Short Bladefiend.
"And here's for the fall!"
The monster felt the pain spread from its chest as it tried to push away the human, but Felix used another of his skills as the two were suspended in the air.
"Cursed Domain!"
He grabbed onto the Short Bladefiend as the baleful energy from his body rushed directly into the Bladefiend's body and harmed it in every way.
"AWWHOOOO!!!"
The monster howled in agony as it struggled to free itself from Felix, but he didn't let go of the Bladefiend as they fell together to the ground.
"Earth Spikes!"
Felix increased the energy released from his body to the maximum as the Bladefiend became insane to the point of going numb.
When they were about to crash on the ground, Felix let go of the Short Bladefiend and kicked it towards the ground, while leaping upwards using the force behind the kick.
The Short Bladefiend regained its senses for a brief moment as Felix let go, but by then it had already reached the ground as a sharp spike pierced into its back.
"AAWHOOOO!!"
As there already was a stab wound made by Felix on the Bladefiend's chest, the spike found it easier to pierce into its body as the Bladefiend got nailed onto the spike.
'Ratio Technique!'
On its deathbed, the Short Bladefiend saw Felix doing a backflip in the air as he positioned himself with his sword downwards and his legs raised to the ceiling.
"Black Horizon Sword Arts: First Technique!"
Under the helpless gaze of the Bladefiend, Felix shot down like a comet and aimed his sword at the monster's head.
"Singular Slash!!"
His sword cleanly flashed through the scene as a furry head rolled down, with Felix landing heavily on the ground as he took a deep breath.
[You have killed a being higher than your own rank.]
[You have gained 1000 skill points.]
Turning around with a grin on his face, Felix raised his head to glance at the Burly Bladefiend who was still stuck on the upper edge of the sinkhole.
"You're the only one left and I'm gonna create two more skills just to fight you.", he said to the bewildered Bladefiend who couldn't believe his partner had just died.
"Be proud of yourself.", Felix smirked as the Rank 3 Bladefiend huffed and howled in anger.
"AAAAGWWHHHOOOOOOO!!!!"
The loud howl echoed through the dungeon tunnels, but Felix had his Parabolic Hearing on so it didn't affect him much.
'System, create a passive skill to permanently increase my physical stats to that of a Rank 3 being. Another illusion-type skill that creates untraceable clones of myself to feint attack at the enemy.'
[Affirmative.]
[Processing the skill's power scale....grading the skill....estimating the possible points required.....skill successfully moduled.]
[Ding!]

[Ding!]

•The Clones may remain for a maximum of 5 minutes and can vanish upon impact, having zero defensive or offensive capability. The skill cooldown is 20 minutes.
Cost: 120 SP]
[Do you wish to use 5120 skill points and create the skills 'Superhuman Physique' and 'Mirage Clones'?]
"5000 skill points?! Are you for real?!", Felix exclaimed in surprise seeing the cost of the 'Superhuman Physique' skill.
'I could only gather the 5000 skill points from killing either five Rank 3 beings or fifty Rank 2 beings... So is this skill worth it?'
Felix raised his head to look at his target, the Rank 3 Burly Bladefiend that was pulling itself out of the sinkhole in a hurry.
'Let's think about the advantages of this skill. I'll be getting the offensive and defensive stats of an average Rank 3 being, thus reducing the chances of injuring myself with tough skin and high speed.'
'The Agility Burst then triples that speed, further increasing it to something other Rank 3's won't be able to match....'
'By then, killing Rank 3 beings with my other combat skills will be a lot easier. The 5000 skill points that I'm hesitating about won't be then just 'spent', it'll be 'invested' if I think more about it.'
Felix stopped wasting time and came out of his thoughts as he nodded to himself and gave his decision to the system.
'Create them.'
[Affirmative.]
[Successfully created the new skills 'Superhuman Physique' and 'Mirage Clones'!]
As soon as the skills were created, Felix felt a sudden change sweep through his body.
A warm sensation started spreading out starting from his blood, nerves, internal organs to his bones, skin and muscles, all the way to his external features.
Felix closed his eyes, feeling as if he were being reborn. When he opened them back, a powerful gleam flashed through his ruby eyes.
"Aaahhh....", a moan of pleasure couldn't help but escape out of his mouth.
"It was truly worth it... This skill.... ", Felix grinned.
"There's no need to hide or run anymore."
A newfound confidence surged within himself as Felix hopped on the spot for a few seconds before kicking off the ground.
"Here I come!!"
He ran towards the wall and used his skill.
'Earth Spike! Earth Spike! Earth Spike!'
A bunch of spikes rapidly grew out from the hole's wall, which Felix used as stepping stones to climb his way out of the sinkhole.
From the ground to the top of the hole, several spikes emerged as Felix jumped over one after the other as the Burly Bladefiend standing at the top stupidly stared at the boy.
"AA- AAAWWHOOOO!!!'
The Burly Bladefiend let out an enraged howl as it regained its senses, preparing to fight the human and avenge its fallen partner.
But Felix suddenly made a different move as he disappeared into the wall of the hole using his Earth Swimming skill.
The Burly Bladefiend stepped forward as it glanced down in confusion to look for the boy, but he seemed to have gone missing amidst the several earth spikes.
"See you down, big guy."
A voice muttered from behind the Burly Bladefiend as it turned around in shock, but it was too late as Felix had already crashed into it with his new powerful body.
"AGWHOO!!"
Having lost its footing again, the Rank 3 Burly Bladefiend found itself suspended in the air, plummeting helplessly towards the depths of the sinkhole.
Felix watched as the monster crashed onto the ground, only to find himself mid-air as well.
'Ah, I did it again.', Felix smiled wryly as he had leapt off unconsciously.
'Maybe I have a thing for free falling into my enemies...'
Chuckling to himself, he tightened his hold on his sword as he dived towards the Burly Bladefiend who was starting to get up.
"Eat this bastard!!"
The Bladefiend glanced upwards and took a battle stance to finally start its battle against the human.
"Mirage Clones!"
And that was when the Bladefiend became shocked again as duplicate copies of Felix appeared all above him.
"AWHOU?!"
Each of the clones looked exactly identical to Felix, all raising their swords and shouting together.
"Black Horizon Sword Arts! Third Technique!"
Though confused and slightly panicked, the Bladefiend instinctively raised both arms, crossing them above its head in a defensive posture, bracing for any incoming strikes.
'Earth Spikes!'
In the middle of his sword attack, Felix sneakily used his skill as several spikes launched from beneath the monster.
"AWH!!"
The Bladefiend yelped in surprise as its lower body was suddenly stabbed by the spikes, though they didn't harm him much considering his tough skin.
"Assault Impact!!"
But that moment of distraction was enough as Felix and his clones clashed with the Bladefiend, who started flailing its arms around in panic.
It slashed at the the clones, making them disappear instantly, but one of them slipped past its attacks and swung his sword on its shoulder.
"Take this!!"
Using his falling momentum and the boosted stats, Felix slashed the Bladefiend's shoulder with all his strength.
"AAWHOOOO!!!"
A pained howl echoed throughout the tunnel as Felix's sword ripped apart the Bladefiend's shoulder from its body.
Landing on the ground softly as the Bladefiend's blood splashed around him, Felix quickly dodged the attack from its other arm.
"Cursed Domain!"
A baleful energy spread out from him as he started parrying the Bladefiend's attacks as it swung its only arm blade at him.
The Bladefiend started feeling itself getting weaker and weaker as seconds passed, blood dripping from its open wound as the corrosive energy seeped into its body.
Felix didn't waste more time watching the Bladefiend suffer as he launched his final attack.
'Agility Burst! Ratio Technique! Striking Blades!'
Felix saw several red lines appear all over the Bladefiend, and with a triple increase in his speed, he kicked off the ground and swung his sword around in a flash.
An arm, a leg and a head.
These three parts of the Bladefiend's body suddenly tore away, crashing to the ground as blood sprayed through the air.
[You have killed a being higher than your own rank.]
[You have gained 1000 skill points.]
The Bladefiend's remaining body collapsed to the ground, marking the end of the battle.
