Corey had lost track of time from the moment he started deflecting and parrying the attacks of Vaerina.

How long had passed?

Was it seconds?

Minutes?

Hours?

Or even days?

Corey had no idea, the only thing that was on his mind was to swing, swing, swing, analyze, analyze, analyze, and heal, heal, heal.

Corey swung his arms so much and so fast that at some point, the muscles and skin on his arms started tearing apart due to the immense strain he had been putting on them.

This had nearly caused him to miss a water axe that was aiming for his skull, but luckily, he had been able to evade it, although not without losing a bit of flesh on his right cheek to the axe.

Fortunately, he had his Stars of Consciousness which increased the output of Dream Healing.

Corey had always known and he had always been grateful for it, but it was times like this where he always appreciated his Stars of Consciousness. He had been swinging his axes with utmost precision, and every strike of his was perfectly calculated so that he could deflect each water spear with the optimal force required.

His stone axe had sustained countless cracks, but anytime it was about to reach its breaking point, Corey would heal by transmuting the wind, fragments of the cracks, and the water droplets of the spear.

He was also maintaining the activation of several skills, and each skill was activated with such efficiency that the amount of mana that was used was minimal but optimal.

He was doing and observing so many things at the same time to the point that he did not have the time or the energy to try and figure out how long had gone by from the moment he first swung his Genesis Armament.

No.

It wasn't that he didn't have the time or the energy, it was just that Corey could not be bothered to know how long had gone by.

The only thing that was on his mind was to survive and last till his Master was ready. As for how long that would be, he didn't care cause it didn't matter to him.

CLANG!

Corey parried a water scythe to his left, and the water scythe collided with ten other water weapons that were about to touch him, sending them far away from him.

Blood could be seen pouring out from his eyes as his pupils moved with such a speed that it injured itself and the other parts of the eye. However, with dream healing, his vast amount of mana, and a unique trait of the Tri-Pupil Eyes, he was able to maintain the speed at which his pupils moved and observed his surroundings without going blind.

A water spear flew towards the top of his head, but when Corey saw it, he ignored it because he could see that it was fake.

A water trident appeared to his right, and Corey saw that it was real. He swung the large stone axe in his left hand, fully intending on parrying the trident.

However, just as he swung the large stone axe at the trident, his right hand moved without his permission, and to his confusion and shock, his hand placed his Genesis Armament above his head, at the position where the water spear which was an illusion was approaching.

'What?' Corey was stunned, and his eyes could not help but widen in horror when he saw this.

Before Corey could react to this new development, in less than a second, the water spear which Corey believed to be an illusion became real.

His eyes widened the more, and he could not help but curse out loud with fear.

"Fuck!"

BANG!

An extremely powerful force slammed into Corey the instant the water spear crashed into his Genesis Armament. Corey fell to his knees and coughed out multiple mouthfuls of blood as his raised arms fell to the ground.

His breathing was ragged and rough, and his eyes lost their lustre for a few seconds before regaining them back.

'What the hell happened?'

Corey thought back to what had just happened, and just as he felt like he was about to go insane with all the questions, possibilities, and hypothesis that his Stars of Consciousness conjured, Nina's calm but nonchalant voice resounded in his mind.

Corey was stunned when he heard this. He thought for a second that Vaerina could control his body without his knowledge, and such a thing had frightened him to the core.

However, after hearing Nina's words, he was not relieved but horrified and full of disbelief.

'She can make her illusions real? Doesn't that mean that I have to take every single one of her attacks as real and not fake?'

Just as Corey had this thought, his instincts screamed at him, and through the bird's eye view of his Eyes of Omniscience, he saw it.

Five water daggers came at him from above.

"Shit."

Corey could not react, he was kneeling and was not balanced at all. Not only that, the daggers were frighteningly fast, and he was no longer in the zone which allowed him to react to the previous water weapons.

The water daggers ruthlessly pierced his back, and Corey groaned as he clenched his fists tightly to not fall. Although they were daggers, the force they carried was comparable to the force of a sledgehammer.

Just as Corey was wondering what Nina meant by her words, his Master's voice resounded in his mind.

Corey was stunned for a second, but then he grinned and said out loud.

"Great timing, Master."
