Chapter 32: The Celestial Screen Reveals Sasuke’s Defection—A Lifelong Promise!
Sakura stared at the celestial screen, her face full of worry. She seemed to understand now—Naruto and Sasuke were going to fight.
And it might be the kind of fight she didn't want to see.
"This can't happen… It just can't," she whispered, her eyes red. As a fellow member of Team Seven, she knew the bond between the two... but their true feelings had always been hidden.
"This cover feels... strange."
"What's strange about it? It's just a regular image."
"No, the way it's set up makes me think it's leading to a deathmatch."
"A deathmatch? Come on, they're friends!"
"You fools, can't you see? Earlier, Sasuke literally said he wanted to kill Naruto."
"Why would Sasuke want to kill Naruto?"
"Who knows? Either way, this isn't looking good."
"Wait… could it be that Sasuke is planning to defect?"
Hearing this, the entire village—especially the Rookie Nine—was shocked. Even Sasuke himself froze.
Defection? Was it possible that in the future... he really planned to leave the village?
If he did, the reason would be obvious—power.
The Celestial Screen Flickers
Ding!
The gates of Konoha appear on the screen. Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, Kiba, and Neji are gathered there, ready for something important.
"That's us!" exclaimed Kiba, his face lighting up as his image appeared on the screen.
"Finally, it's my turn to shine!" he laughed, eager to see what role he would play in the story.
"This looks serious," Shikamaru murmured, his brows furrowed. "It's not just any mission."
"Naruto... this is my one and only request..."
Sakura's voice echoed, filled with sorrow. On the screen, she lowered her head, tears streaming down her face.
"Please... please bring Sasuke back to me..."
The ninja world fell silent as they watched the heartbreaking plea.
"Sakura…" whispered Ino, feeling her friend's pain.
Naruto, watching from the Hyuga compound, looked shaken. His heart felt heavy as the scene unfolded.
Naruto seemed startled by Sakura's words.
"I couldn't stop him... I couldn't stop Sasuke from leaving. You're the only one who can save him now..."
Sakura's voice cracked as she sobbed. Her vulnerability struck a chord with everyone watching.
Naruto, after a moment of hesitation, gave her a warm smile.
"Because you love Sasuke, right? I understand..."
Sakura's tearful face froze in surprise, her mind flashing back to earlier moments.
"That prankster doesn't understand me at all," she had once said dismissively. "He's so annoying!"
Now, faced with Naruto's unwavering support, she began to choke up.
Naruto, however, simply gave her a thumbs-up and smiled brightly.
"I'll bring Sasuke back—this is my lifelong promise to you!" he declared with determination.
Sakura, overwhelmed, whispered, "Thank you, Naruto..."
"A lifelong promise? That's just like Naruto—so warm and kind."
"This kid… He's something else, isn't he?"
"Naruto, you've got this! Bring Sasuke back no matter what!"
Sakura, watching the screen, was already in tears. Her face was a mix of gratitude and regret.
"Why… Why did I say such awful things back then?" she whispered. "Naruto was always there for me. I didn't see it at all."
Naruto clenched his fists and shouted to the heavens, "I'll make sure this doesn't happen! I'll stop it from ever happening!"
Everyone around him let out a collective sigh of relief.
Hinata, however, remained silent, her heart aching for Naruto.
"Sakura… You're so lucky. Naruto-kun cares so much for you," she thought, a pang of jealousy flashing through her.
But she shook her head and whispered to herself, "I won't give up… I'll keep trying."
The image shifts to the Valley of the End, a legendary battleground marked by the statues of Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.
Naruto and Sasuke stood on opposite statues, facing each other.
"That's the Valley of the End!"
"They're going to fight there? Seriously? Isn't that place supposed to symbolize peace?"
"It's almost poetic… Like history repeating itself. Hashirama and Madara once fought here, and now these two will."
The tension in Konoha skyrocketed as everyone's attention turned to the celestial screen.
"Sasuke! Are you running away from me?!" Naruto's voice rang out, filled with anger and frustration.
Sasuke slowly turned around, revealing a face twisted by the Curse Mark, half-covered in dark markings.
"Yo, dead last. Your turn now?" Sasuke said, his tone eerily calm.
Naruto froze, his mind flashing back to memories of their time together in Team Seven—training, missions, their shared bond.
He clenched his fists tightly, his voice trembling with emotion.
"Why, Sasuke?! Why have you become like this?! Answer me!"
Sasuke's gaze remained cold and unchanging.
"What I become is my choice. I have my own path to follow, and no one can dictate it for me."
Naruto's heart sank as Sasuke continued.
"I'm done wasting my time in Konoha. I don't want to stay in that place anymore. Go back—this doesn't concern you."
Naruto's expression darkened as he realized the truth.
Sasuke... was truly planning to leave.
To defect.
