Chapter 9: Dungeon Part 2.
After getting blanked out at the first punch.
Rito knew that he needed to be at the top of his game to defeat a monster of this calibre, so he did not hesitate to move aggressively the next time.
With the help of his mental skills, his body actually knew what to do in this kind of situation, and he had the impression that he had memories of being a warrior of some sort.
This allowed him to make a decision so quickly that his counter-self could never have handled it. He actually dodged the fast attack like nothing with quick stepping, and his sharp sword made a nice horizontal arc-like movement.
With his leg bringing a burst of speed, the sword in his hand cleaved the hand in a single blow.
Along with it, came a horrendous voice of that thing shouting like a maniac as he stared at Rito with pure horror.
'This is...' Rito stopped at that moment. That scream did, after all, make him realize that the other party was also a living thing, but he also realized that a moment before, that thing had swung his fist to kill him perfectly and without hesitation, as if he had already killed humans and other living things.
'Don't hesitate,' he muttered. 'The Yami too.' With a spark of a single self-doubt, other things started to come to his mind.
As he knew the future of this story, he had a certain female lead called Yami, who is also an assassin.
His tightened sword loosened a bit, as his eyes never left that thing, who was staring at Rito for all this time.
[Target: Kamo Puncher.]
[Detail: Due to addiction to drugs, he ended up entering the underworld and had killed multiple identities, just for his own greed.]
An electronic voice appeared in Rito's mind. As though indicating that it was not something that needed his attention, Rito discovered that numerous families had been brutally murdered by these things.
Despite this, the creatures showed no remorse and joined the palace to amuse themselves by murdering more innocent people in a game akin to a maze that aliens play in numerous palaces to amuse valued guests with programs akin to massacres.
'Please don't kill me now. I am pregnant.' A final clip broke the value within Rito.
At last, his eyes became cold, not because of justice, but because sometimes the greatest crime is kindness, which he could have shown to people who felt unjustified and to bastards like him.
'Cring...' The thing made a dash toward the other side.
But in that moment, Rito sensed a stronger threat from somewhere, causing the froggy man to halt at his feet, scream, and then turn its head in Rito's direction, who was already positioned to kill the bastard like him, with no intention of letting it go.
'Jeet Kune Do: Hiten Mitsurugi Style...' His finger was on the ground, his body was in a back stance, his eyes were on the enemy, and his body was rotating at its centre like a falling spring drop.
The summer breeze caused his body to fling itself, and he dodged the sidekick with a bare edge. His sword then slashed its head horizontally, instantly silencing the enemy.
'Exit.' Since he could feel the frog guy's piercing gaze stopping him from running away in that manner and because the area had nothing to do with the shrine—the system had only used spiritual energy to create a wormhole for him—Rito also left that area in that moment in order to avoid being killed again.
Rito, after all, had no desire to die repeatedly in that manner.
This is not to say that he was in pain, but the sensation of being sucked left him feeling as though he were dying.
'I have to make sure. That I don't get used to dying like that. Plus, I need to train in martial arts before continuing into the dungeon again.' Rito commented internally, after getting back to the shrine gate, and this time, he did not feel nauseating, as before this one, he was just taken by surprise.
'Blargh...' /No comment./
[Ding!]
[Congratulations on defeating an opponent.]
[Reward: 10X Phyisque Boosting Candy + 100K Sakura Yen + ...]
'Eh! Here comes the reward.' After removing the white candy from the system, he ate it and felt a warm current rise from his insides, causing his body to heal more quickly.
He smiled as he looked at the loot and was happy about it because it had taken a lot out of him. He was also feeling more energized than before.
'This is beyond the level of healing man. Plus, with this I might be able to train more and refine my skill before hitting that Thousand Palace again. And I will kill them all, I promise, before they can hurt any more of us.'
A silent glint appeared in Rito's eyes for the first time after coming to this world.
-------------------------------------
"I am back." When Rito was back, he found Mikan in the kitchen, and what surprised him was that little girl Sagiri was also out beside Mikan, looking a bit timid as she clutched the little rabbit with her tiny hand, but she still took the courage to be able to talk with Mikan.
"Rito! Welcome back." Mikan called back, looking at Rito with a small smile, a bit happy because he was able to go out for such a long time again.
"Welcome back." Along with Mikan, came another timid voice from behind her, making Rito smile as he patted Mikan's head and sat down a bit and looked at Sagiri's line of sight.
"Thank you, Mikan, Sagiri." He greeted them back.
After that, he headed to Sagiri's room because he needed to give Ayaka-san the book, but he was beginning to feel a little embarrassed after coming this close once more.
But for some reason, a silent breath from inside calmed his heart down as he looked at the room and started to clear his mind of all awkward thinking again.
'Don't let it bother it. Don't let it bother me... ...' With silent muttering, Rito knocked on the door and heard Ayaka's voice, and with a calm look back on his face again, he entered the room.
"Haha! Rito, help me." Looking at the silver-haired lady who was stuck within the clothes and other piled-up drawing folding bench.
'How did she end up like this?' With doubts within his mind, Rito walked to help Ayaka out of that situation.
"Huhu! Thank you, Rito-kun." Rito left the situation and tilted his lips slightly as he considered how pointless it was to worry in front of someone like Ayaka.
"Haha! How did you end up in this situation?" With a light smile, Rito pulled Ayaka up.
As her leg was still numb, she got pulled quite quickly, and her body pressed against Rito, who realized something was off with her leg and held her quickly.
"Let's sit. I think your leg is still numb." With her chest pressed against Rito's chest, Ayaka felt embarrassed, but at this moment his calm voice put her at some kind of ease.
'She smell's so nice...'
