Chapter 8: Dungeon!
Leaving the shop.
After being able to leave in this manner, Rito felt somewhat rejuvenated and chose to take a different route through the area.
Plus, it was also jogging his memories and merging them more perfectly; he decided to enjoy it as much as he can without caring for all the eyes staring at him for all that while.
'That's a carefree guy.' After Sano Manjiro finished beating the living daylights out of the other gang, he spotted Rito, who ignored them and proceeded to walk around the neighbourhood as if nothing had happened, not even the fight between his gang and another gang from a different city than them.
"Huh! Oh, that guy. Yeah, he really is free-spirited. But he did not bother us, so let it be." Draken stopped when he found Mikey looking at the orange-haired guy and smiled.
Plus, them being here will also make sure that the other gang member from the other group doesn't have any free time to deal with that kid.
Since the gang was quite active and this city was not too far from Tokyo, they were compelled to come here and deal with them after one of them began to cause trouble in their city.
"That's right? Let's go. We will finish their headquarters today." Mikey shouted, with which the entire gang roared with fighting spirit, though at the sight of it, Rito only smiled, thinking how the blond guy was really tough, even for him, who had only level 1 mastery of skill [Jeet Kune Do].
'At current level. I might as well not mess with that kid and the other guy beside him.' Rito internally thought.
------------------------
TLN: Sorry, guys. But I wanted to introduce NTR feel to my novel, and there are chances that I will increase the other anime within it.
So, I hope you will continue to read, as it will have Rito become a bit darker, but he will not lose his kindness and originality from before too.
Tap! Tap!
As the wind passed. The light shone on the road, illuminating the whole area with a shining glint due to refraction of light from the tiny drop of water on small leaves. Rito's orange hair shone like a bright orange halo. Eternity is a phrase, but fate is a trick.
The things that should come will enter the life; the cryptic of Hallow falls from the dungeon light.
[Ding... Host surrounding has found Cryptic Dungeon.]
[Dungeon Name: Thousand Palace.]
[Location: God of Fortune Shrine.]
'Eh!' It took him by surprise. Rito glanced at the shrine on the side and noticed another fluctuation keyhole-like holograph in the middle of nowhere.
He then tapped his left pocket and discovered an object that looked like a key suddenly materializing there.
'This is it. Huh! A dungeon, with the name Thousand Palace. Wow! It did feel daunting.' With a smile on his face, Rito considered taking a look at the strange holograph before returning home to relax.
[Would Host like to enter?] [Yes]/[No]
"Yes! Let's go."
[Stimulating.]
[Spatial Wave Ressurge.]
Rito did not feel any pain as though a ram had been smashed on his stomach, and even then, all of his food flew out of his mouth. A moment later, he was throwing up while standing on a strange magic circle that covered a small portion of the area.
[Welcome to Thousand Palace.]
[Host Level detected: Level 0.]
[Enemy Strength: Level 1- Level 5.]
[Difficulty: Hardcore.]
'Blegh! Argh!' "Huff! Haaaaah! Shit, that was horrifying." Rito commented, after vomiting out all of the food, as he looked at the completely changed environment and felt his scalp tingling with danger sense, that he had never felt before.
Rito, however, was able to experience the tingling feeling of being watched even at this very moment because of his [Jeet Kune Do] skill danger sense, which he developed by remembering the practice in which he had never trained before.
"I guess it's time to take that sword out." Rito muttered, as in reality, within this dungeon, he was literally immortal, and hardly he could die.
One of the few benefits of being a player in this world is that, even if he were to encounter a life-threatening situation in this dungeon, he would still swing his blade to take that bastard's head with his.
[Frozen Sword.]
[Incredibly sharp blade with a faint chill.]
[State: Sealed.]
With a look, Rito could tell that this sword was definitely the one in the SAO alicilization that Eugeo used at the beginning.
But with a look, he could also tell that the system surely had changed the sword and definitely made it stronger than the previous one, so he was really looking forward to unlocking all the seals.
Walking out of the magic circle, his danger sense heightened. And the moment he took another step, a figure suddenly crashed in front of the gate of the shrine-like palace.
"Who the hell are you, kid?" The figure's voice was heavy. With a long beard and an explosive-looking body that was full of muscle and brawn, even Rito started to feel tiny in front of the guy, who definitely had the head of a frog and a frog-like body.
"Hey there." Rito smiled and started to speak, but then he felt a gust of wind and a sharp left came crashing toward his head, leaving him unable to escape his punch.
'Cling!!!'
A sonorous sound accompanied the Rito figure's crash into the air, resembling the shield that the previous magic circle had cast over the safe area.
However, he felt the impact of the back at this point, and his mind went blank.
'Gahhh!' Rito woke up again within the circle.
Looking outside, Rito could see that weird monster or alien standing out looking at him cautiously with a look of disbelief written all over its face, as if he was watching a ghost.
'Fuck! I did take the hit on the sword and with two hands. Even then the momentum of that punch took my life.'
With Level 1 Jeet Kune Do mastery, Rito actually blocked the punch with his sword, leaped up to absorb the impact, and flew back to significantly lessen the damage it would have caused to his body. This resulted in an instant kill.
'How strong that thing is. And it is still level 1.' Rito felt his common sense in gaming-related matters just went puff, given this kind of level 1 definitely is not something small he thought of.
'Let's give it another go.' But as a gamer, and with 0 pain reception, Rito felt bolder, although it won't numb his sense but will delete all the pain resulting from outer force.
This time, it was Rito's turn. His body grew larger in Rito's vision as he ran toward the enemy without waiting and without showing much surprise.
Rito then used a side-stepping technique to alter his body momentum.
Even at this moment, Rito's reaction was bold and quick, and his technique was refined to the maximum of level 1, which even the puncher was not that good at.
As a result, the crashing punch was completely missed this time because Rito's previous response was not bad, and he was able to react to that punch.
"Let's see. If you can really cut anything. Frozen sword." When the man finished throwing the punch and its body was still within range of the sword, Rito's quick drawing technique and a little mutter prevented him from reacting. The sword slashed horizontally, cleaving his right hook punch like butter.
'Clang.'
'Gahhh!!!'
The frog hand was slashed into two. Rito turned to face the enemy, who had missed the opportunity to strike him again, and he thought about how lifelike that was, his sword gleaming like a bolt of ice. Since not everyone has the ability to survive death, most living things would respond similarly to the frog-guy.
