SCION THE PROTECTOR

Who is Maria Brasher, well for starters she is a twenty two year old girl and at her age she already had a degree in theoretical physics, her father was the scientist known as Adam Brasher aka blue Marvel and her mother was Monica Rambeau former sword field agent turned superhuman.

None of them expected they could have a child because of their physiques, Monica was living light although she could access the entire electromagnetic spectrum should she want to, and Adam was a living Antimatter reactor, however fate was quite weird as one year after their marriage they discovered Monica was pregnant.

She suspended all heroic work of course and took care of her miracle child, her pregnancy was one filled with problems as the child didn't actually contain a physical form and simply had conflicting energies colliding with eachother, after she was born she was alternating between physical and energy states.

To save her life her parents needed to transport her into the neutral zone home of neutronium aka the only element that can actually hurt blue marvel, there they met Maria's brother who also resides within the neutral zone, he was able to cure Maria of her instability utilizing Neutronuim and after that introduced a stabilizing agent in the form of Isotope 8.

It was a new cosmic element of unknown origin but one thing was certain, it held a ridiculous amount of power and potential and Kevin Brasher had just transformed his sister into a living Isotope 8 particle reactor. With that she regained human form, she didn't have access to her powers for a long time as a child but her mind retained its enhancents.

She was a super genius and it was evident in her academics, it wasn't long before her powers manifested though, they were unlocked with the onset of adolescence and she was powerful, it wasn't long before she was running around with other teenagers in the Young Avengers team.

When she clocked eighteen though she moved to Alpha Flight where her mother and Aunt Carol worked as superheros, there she needed an identity and at that time her powers peaked transforming her into a living quantum singularity, it wasn't easy for her at that time as she lost all physical form and because an energy form.

She was hunted by a living antimatter singularity for a while and her mother had to team up with several heroes to aid her in her survival, at the end they managed to send away the Antimatter singularity at around the same time her father returned her to the neutral zone and a fresh infusion of Neutronium enabled her compress the quantum singularity and awakening her Isotope powers.

With this power she was comparable to her mother and Aunt Carol, she couldn't go by singularity anymore so Carol gave her a new identity, she had recently run into a clone of her self created by the Kree after they stole a remnant of her soul and energy when she was in binary mode,

Carol managed to reabsorb the clone back into her own body but she retained the Clone's costume which she quickly retrieved for Maria, the clone went by the title binary and so Maria became binary, the costume was white and red with two golden stars placed one ontop of the other on her chest.

Under this moniker she had become a valued member of Alpha flight and even joined the avengers a few times, until one time she was hanging out with her parents on a beach taking a well deserved day off when suddenly she sensed something, an invasive incredibly powerful energy was locking in on her but she could t see it.

Obviously her parents sensed it too and they doned their costumes before they were teleported into outer space, there they found alot of poweful heroes all staged around they were them faced by a young man her age, he introduced himself as Lauin Lexis and he had given life to the space god rising from the ocean and causing all the damage to the planet.

However apparently a group of gods were holding the planet together so most people didn't even know the apocalypse had already arrived, Maria and her family had been on vacation and they hadnt even sensed danger despite her mother having some form of cosmic awareness even if it was still low level, but one would think the end of the world would alert anyone with any sense.

He then told them that he would handle the celestial and they would be summoned when it was their time, this wasnt Maria's first time in space or even her first time off world, but it felt different this time, the fight between celestials and Exterminators was end of the universe level of battle and she had never been close to a battle of that magnitude.

Luckily they manage to defeat the exterminator however this was moments before they find out that Lauin had died in the process. In typical superhero format, before long he started reforming, he was reborn out of the fallen bodies of two celestials and a celestial life seed whatever that meant, point is he was alive again.

He was dressed in his celestial garments made up of dark blue, white and gold his body was glowing with golden light and he even woke up for a while with his face mask vanishing from his face before he passed out and fell into a deep coma, the third celestial then revealed that Lauin was actually the celestial that was meant to hatch from the earth, his soul was set to live on earth waiting for his awakening.

But an exterminator expedited his awakening and stole his life seed, however after he killed the exterminator he reformed his body except he was now the equivalent of an infant in celestial terms, he was too weak to connect to the celestial frequency so he would need to develop first while on earth as a human.

When he obtains enough power he could still return to the celestials should he choose it, just then captain universe teleported them all back to the solar system before vanishing leaving behind his vessel who is also an Eternal deviant hybrid going by the living machine, he attempted to take Lauin and launched an argument between heroes.

Maria simply saw this as chaotic nonsense so she carried him to the peak where he was placed under intensive care, several heroes gathered five days later to discuss his situation, where they agreed to let him remain off world for the time being however that decision would came back to haunt them soon.

One year later celestial corpses started dropping from the skies on the planet leading to a battle of ridiculous proportions in the battle Starbrand and Nightmask were both lost when they sacrificed themselves to save the infestation of the horde on the planet, however in the end the horde was defeated thanks to the flames of the ghost rider who had posessed a dead celestial.

After the celestials were cured of the horde infestation they left the earth but first they raised a dead celestial from the arctic and left it as a sign of their thanks to the heroes, the celestial was then changed into Avengers mountain by Wakandans and it became the worldwide headquarters for the heroes and their activities.

A year after that the Starbrand reappeard however it was in space, the Avengers left to confront it and they returned a baby girl with the Starbrand who they named Brandy because of the starbrand and Shelby after her mother's last name. In two months the baby turned into a teenager after a fight with a moon god that sought to take over the planet and it was around this time that Lauin was transported to Avengers mountain thanks to Brandy's advice.

Within two more years she was the same age as Maria because of a fight within an alternate reality created by a cosmic cube from hell called a pandemonium cube, turns out this was what the moon god was trying to fight by conquering the entire planet and filling the sky with moons.

it was at this point that Brandy's situation raised concern as they were worried her next fights might burn her life to dust, Leonid passed by in one of his visits to Lauin and he told them about the secret of the Starbrand, it grants its host too much power but that power was never meant to be wielded by mortals, the Starbrand was a weapon meant for cosmic beings.

When wielded by a mortal it grants them the power to do anything they can imagine however the cost for wielding that much power is their mortality itself the brand burns the life force of its host and either they let go of the brand or they burn themselves to dust.

This was a secret known only to cosmic beings, to survive the power of the Starbrand Brandy would have to become immortal otherwise she wouldn't survive two or three more full scale uses of her powers.

However around that same time the world was invaded by some form of masters of evil that had been wreaking havoc across the multiverse by killing earth's in their infancy, and now they had arrived on earth.

They posed so much of a threat that Lauin was awaken from his slumber before his time and as such he was still weak, at that moment Leonid had a crazy idea, he used his living machine capabilities to fuse Lauin and Brandy into one being.

Lauin had the dexterity and physique to use the power of the brand and Brandy had the power except she couldn't use it to defeat the masters of evil. However once fused together they made for an extremely powerful being, a celestial wielding the Starbrand is an existence that would draw the attention of the living tribunal had the scales not been this bad already.

Their fusion returned Lauin to full form as he towered over 100 feet, he wasn't back to full size but this was enough for this current problem so he summoned his celestial appearance as as Scion the protector.

Apparently that was his celestial title, and at the center of his celestial appearance was a Starbrand symbol transforming him into Celestial Starbrand, he had become an existence beyond mortal comprehension and it didn't take him long before the masters of evil were obliterated, for the ghost rider he banished to the cancerverse.

For the Phoenix he snuffed out the flames and banished the host into the negative zone, as for the black skull, king killmonger and young thanos he simply stripped them of their powers and turned them mortal, in addition to that he made them incapable of ever gaining powers ever again.

As for doctor doom he healed him completely and stripped all the magic and cosmic power from his veins and even more importantly he stripped him of his wisdom and left him a regular mortal without the enhanced intelligence, he then located the Mephisto of his universe and banished him to the god quarry where he sensed the final battle would take place.

However he had pushed the patience of the living tribunal long enough, the danger had passed so there was no reason for him to retain the power of the Starbrand but before separating he used the power to recover his life seed allowing him to maintain his consciousnesses, he was only awake because Eternity had lent him temporary power to regain consciousness however he would revert to unconsciousness the moment he separated with Starbrand.

With his life seed repaired he could retain his consciousness, he wouldn't be at celestial level power levels but he would be awake and he would retain some basic physical functions, like strength, cellular regeneration, flight, intelligence and maybe low level molecular manipulation. But he couldn't just take her power without giving her something in return, her physique was mortal however it was flawed because of her rushed growth due to the power of the Starbrand,

It was stripping vitality straight out of her and making her appear stronger and healthy, so he utilized his cosmic level reality warping abilities to transform her genetic code he utilized the blueprint Ziran the Exterminator had used to make Lauin an evolved eternal which allowed him to progress into a celestial, however Strabrand would never become a celestial.

But with the gene amplification he was giving her, she wouldn't have to fear the power of the brand saping her life force anymore as the brand literally became her life force, she could now fully utilize it and using it would have no adverse effects on her body. However modifications of that level needed a stabilizing agent, for Lauin it was easy since his true soul belonged to a celestial so he was simply returning to his true form.

However Brandy was born to be mortal granting her change of this magnitude needed a stabilizing force otherwise her genetic structure would fail, the celestials had faced the same problem with creating Eternals leading to the creation of deviants who posessed extreme mutation.

So to solve that problem they stripped from the new products of actual life transforming them into biosynthezoids, they were alive but they weren't effectively human anymore hence why they cannot reproduce, any new eternal needs to be created and can never be born.

However there have been reports of celestials possessing a deviant gene like Thanos and Leonid, these were considered failures by the celestials however to Lauin they were the only true successes as they were the true fusion of cosmic energy and life, for Leonid his deviant parent had sacrificed itself for him.

Lauin didn't know how Thanos came to be and he didnt care about that but he knew he couldn't stabilize Brandy with celestial energy so he searched around and found a stable source in Binary so he siphoned some isotope radiation from her body and used it to stabilize Brandy before he separated returning the power of the brand back to her.

Unfortunately the collision of Isotope 8 and Starbrand energy generated a neutralizing effect of sorts, she remained the Starbrand but her power was nolonger and far reaching as it once was, it was still of cosmic proportions but it now had limits.

This wasn't an issue for Brandy though as she got the best thing out of it, she got to remain alive and her vitality issue was solved which was all that mattered to her so she was eternally grateful.
