Chapter 279: Chapter 280: Big Eater Hinata is Here!
"Did the advisor get involved in this matter?"
"No, he didn't."
The Anbu ninja was straightforward. Yan really hadn't gotten involved in this matter.
Because there was no need.
Once the Third Hokage returned to the village, Tsunade would handle the pressure herself. There was no need for him to step in and make a big deal out of it.
When it was time to stir things up, Yan wouldn't miss any opportunity. But when it was time to relax, he knew how to take it easy.
The Sarutobi clan had lost so many people, and they were all elite members of their family. At a time like this, why bother pushing them further? After all, they were in this situation because they had served the village.
Yan wasn't as shameless as the Third Hokage, who would target people he didn't like regardless of the situation.
"That's good to hear."
Knowing that Yan hadn't intervened, the Third Hokage breathed a sigh of relief.
What he feared most was Yan doing what he usually did—holding on tight and giving the Sarutobi clan a hard time.
Fortunately, what he was worried about didn't happen.
"Take this scroll back to the Sarutobi clan for me. Also, tell Tsunade that I'll be returning to the village soon, and I'll give her an explanation for this matter."
Tsunade was too busy worrying about money to make a big deal out of the Sarutobi clan's issue.
But just because Tsunade didn't care didn't mean the Third Hokage wouldn't overthink it.
Having sat in the Hokage's seat for so many years, his first reaction to something like this was that the other party was trying to force his hand.
Tsunade was the Hokage, so it was natural for her to have such thoughts.
The Third Hokage's thinking was even a bit extreme. He believed that Tsunade hadn't made a move yet and had only notified him because she was waiting for him to return before causing a scene.
At least save some face for him.
Don't make this a big deal.
Thankfully, Tsunade wasn't aware of the Third Hokage's thoughts, or she would've cursed him out.
"If you're paranoid, don't drag me into it!! What I care about is money, not your Sarutobi clan's petty drama!
You're the one with a persecution complex, thinking everyone's out to take your position and power. Not everyone is as twisted and extreme as you."
"Yes, Third Hokage"
The Anbu ninja obediently returned to the village with the scroll and the Third Hokage's message. He relayed the message to Tsunade and handed the scroll to the Sarutobi clan.
With the scroll delivered by the Anbu on the Third Hokage's orders, the Sarutobi clan finally calmed down. Despite their grievances, the clan members could only wait patiently for the Third Hokage's return.
As for Tsunade, she didn't take the Third Hokage's words seriously.
Give me an explanation?
I don't need an explanation. If you're so capable, why don't you conjure up a large sum of money for me?
What I need is money, funds, not your excuses.
The Sarutobi clan's antics had given the other village families quite the spectacle to gossip about.
Yan, on the other hand, had no time to bother with these matters. Today was the day he took his little fiancée, Hinata, out for some fun.
Hinata was still young, and even though their engagement was set, Yan couldn't see her all the time. Whenever he had free time, he would take her out for a stroll, find a place to sit, or grab something to eat to strengthen their bond.
This was also the intention of the patriarchs and elders of both the Uchiha and Hyuga clans.
In fact, Yan had only taken Hinata out today after repeated urging from Hyuga Hiashi.
Over time, and with more frequent meetings, Hinata had become much less reserved and uneasy when alone with Yan.
The little Hinata had now accepted her role as the future wife of an Uchiha elder. If someone from the Uchiha clan addressed her as "Madam," she wouldn't blush and wish to disappear like she used to. Though it still felt a bit awkward, she could now accept it with grace.
"How's the taste?"
By a secluded river far from Konohagakure, Yan and Hinata sat on the grass. Yan was helping Hinata roast some meat.
Yan hadn't expected that the seemingly obedient and well-behaved Hinata also yearned for the outside world, something her family had previously restricted.
Now that the cage had been opened, and her identity confirmed, Hinata had started to embrace ideas she once wouldn't dare to have.
Like asking Yan to take her out and cook something together, even if the taste wasn't perfect.
Luckily, Yan's grilling skills were decent.
At least Hinata wasn't disappointed.
"Mhm, it's really good."
Hinata ate the roasted meat in small bites, but the food disappeared quickly.
Yan had already discovered Hinata's big appetite, and she no longer tried to hide it.
Mainly because Yan encouraged her not to restrain herself like she used to.
Among the women and girls Yan knew, Tsunade had a pretty impressive appetite.
But compared to Hinata, Tsunade was nothing. Don't let Hinata's small size fool you—her appetite was enormous.
Yan remembered from the original story that Hinata had once won an eating contest, downing forty-six bowls of ramen. And that was with a time limit. Without it...
She probably could've eaten even more.
"Thank you."
Hinata happily took the grilled meat from Yan, smiling as she started eating it in small bites. Despite her delicate and polite manner, she ate surprisingly fast. It seemed like her little mouth couldn't stop, as if the meat was disappearing into a bottomless pit.
"Has anyone at school been teasing you lately?" Yan asked, reaching out to ruffle Hinata's hair.
Following Yan's suggestion, Hinata had started growing her hair out, and now it just covered her ears.
"No," Hinata shook her head, then added with a determined look, "And even if they did, I wouldn't care. After all, I'm your fiancée, Yan."
Seeing Hinata's flushed face, Yan laughed.
"Don't worry about it. If those brats can't keep their mouths shut, I'll just have to find a way to help them control it. Don't worry about things getting out of hand. If anything happens, I'll handle it."
So, you think it's funny to mess with my fiancée? Fine! You're just kids, and I can't lower myself to go to the ninja school and deal with you directly. But I can deal with your teachers. I'll make sure they give you plenty of extra homework and exams. Let's see how long you can keep laughing.
And besides the exams, I can also have the Uchiha kids at school teach you a lesson. With the elders' approval, those little Uchiha brats who idolize me, led by Sasuke, the patriarch's son, will make sure you regret it. Anyone who dares to joke about the elder's fiancée will get what's coming to them. Bring it on! Let's see if the Uchiha are pushovers.
And if you dare to call for backup, we're not afraid. The Uchiha have plenty of strong fighters. We can handle a brawl. The elders will back us up, and if things get out of hand, the police force will deal with it. After a few rounds of this, no one dared to tease Hinata anymore. Even Naruto started avoiding her.
Yan's punishment was brutal. Endless stacks of homework and exams were sent to Naruto's house, piling up until there was almost no space left. Nowadays, just hearing Yan's name made Naruto shiver.
"Mm," Hinata nodded obediently, continuing her battle with the grilled meat. She had grown used to living under Yan's protection.
