He finally stood up from his knees, suppressing the rage he felt within and walked away. On his way back home, he saw a convenience store as he quickly went in and bought a few souvenirs to take home. He took a taxi to his neighborhood and paid the driver telling him to keep the change as his mind was no longer functioning anymore seeing the number two hero's real identity.

He got home seeing his mother's car parked at the corner of the house and quickly unlocked the door. Getting inside the house he greeted his mom who was sitting down on the couch in the living room watching the news channel.

"Welcome back home, sweetie." His mother greeted.

"Hey mom." He greeted her.

"Yuta, is something the matter? Why are you feeling down?" His mother noticed the change in his tone.

"Nothing much, mom." He replied softly not to pressure his mom. "Anyways, what are you watching?" He asked while laying down the souvenirs he bought at the dining table.

"I'm streaming the news station live." She replied.

'Hm? Is it about the villain incident that I just witnessed?' He became curious and asked, "Mom, can I join you to watch the news?" He asked.

'Hm? What's with him today wanting to watch the news with me?' His mom thought, "Sure, feel free." She spoke.

"Thanks." He quickly joined his mom on the couch while streaming the live news.

They both sat down quietly on the couch while watching the news for an hour as it made Yuta more depressed and angered seeing the news and the public covering up for the number two hero's crime.

According to the news, it stated that, "a villian murdered a family of 5 and burnt the house of the family. Endeavour hurried to the scene to protect the civilians from that villian suspected for the murder of that family and was able to defeat the villain, living up to his reputation as Japan's number two hero and apprehended the villain who was then taken to the greatest tartarus prison in history, from which no one has ever escaped."

The news broadcasted that to the country which many people believed even Yuta's mom but Yuta was feeling some kind of pain deep within. 'A villain killed a family of 5 and he's been given a second chance to live in prison?' He didn't believe his eyes when he found out that the villain he saw Endeavor take down was none other than the murderer the news just broadcasted.

Yuta was disgusted by the news as he quietly stood up from the couch and located his room upstairs, locking the door to his room and slamming his fist to the wall which caused him to bleed a little.

He kept punching the wall with his rage and anger and suddenly he felt relieved as he broke down to his knees, tears streaming down his eyes.

"My lifetime dream, didn't know it'll come to this." He muttered as he blamed himself for taking a walk outside his neighborhood. If he didn't leave the house then all this might not have happened to him. He started cursing himself and then he sat on the floor.

'I guess I should take a bath to cool myself down.' He stood up from the ground he was and stripped down his clothes making his way to the bathroom. He brushed his teeth and turned on the hot water in the shower and stayed in the bathroom for over 30 minutes refreshing himself.

He finished his bath and walked down to his bed, ' I think a little nap will be the best right now.' He thought and laid down his bed dozing off from the stress he's been through.

….Endeavor's POV

'That villain deserves death. Anyone who defies me deserves death.' Was all in the number two hero's mind as he cursed himself not killing that villain for the murder of that family. I guess I should have just taught him a lesson or two back then so he understands that whoever has power triumphs over the weak.'

Endeavour sneered as he thought about being scolded by a little villain again, and while he was walking, a number of reporters saw him and hurried to film him to show the power of the evil he faced and how he defeated him while protecting all the local citizens.

It was over, but Endeavor couldn't shake the gnawing dissatisfaction. The fight had been calculated, brutal, and efficient. A performance befitting the Number two Hero. And yet, as he surveyed the destruction, the familiar emptiness crept in. Victory always felt hollow, like ashes in his mouth.

Then came the voices.

"Endeavor! Over here!"

"Number two, how do you feel about your latest win?"

"Do you think this makes up for your past mistakes?"

The press. Like vultures, they swarmed, microphones and cameras thrust forward as they shouted over each other. Their faces blurred into a singular, suffocating mass. His teeth clenched as the irritation bubbled to the surface. These weren't questions—they were accusations cloaked in curiosity, designed to pry and prod until he faltered.

He wanted to walk away, to leave them in the ruins and retreat to the solitude of his thoughts. But that wasn't an option, not anymore. The public demanded more from him than just strength; they wanted humanity, transparency, penance. Being Number two wasn't just about fighting villains—it was about facing the endless judgment of a world that hadn't decided whether to forgive him.

Endeavor squared his shoulders and turned to face the cameras. His flames roared higher instinctively, a shield against their invasive gazes. "The villain is secured," he said, his voice a low growl that carried authority. "Property damage will be assessed, and my agency will ensure repairs are handled swiftly."

"Do you think your aggressive tactics were necessary?" A reporter shouted, undeterred.

"Is this part of your redemption arc?" Another asked, the words laced with mockery.

Redemption. The word stung like a whip. Endeavor felt the weight of his failures pressing against his chest, the faces of his family flickering in his mind. He had burned too many bridges, left too many scars. No battle, no speech, could undo that.

He met their stares, unflinching. "My job is to protect," he said firmly. "That's what I did today, and that's what I'll continue to do. The rest—" he paused, his throat tightening, "—isn't for you to decide."

"Get this fucking camera's away from me." Endeavor exclaimed but the reporters snubbed him.

"What do you say to the public and your fans about defeating that villain?" A female reporter asked while shifting the microphone close to the mouth of the hero.

"How tough was the villian?" Another reporter asked as they bombarded a lot of questions to the flame hero who just ignored them and walked away.

The crowd murmured, some jotting notes, others flashing photos. Endeavor's flames dimmed as he turned away, heading toward the waiting police and emergency workers. Behind him, the questions continued, but he no longer listened.

He had won the battle, but the war—for acceptance, for redemption, for peace—raged on, and it was one he wasn't sure he would ever win.

'Can't all these weaklings give me a rest.' He cursed the reporters as he flew away from the crowd with his fire quirk.

….

Yuta woke up from sleep and noticed his body was covered in sweat. 'Thank God it's a dream.' Sweating profusely, he jolted from the bed and dreamed that Endeavour had killed Mei. He let out a sigh and waltzed his way to the bathroom for a quick bath.

His body started to boil with rage as Yuta's thoughts returned to the earlier incident he had seen against Endeavour and the villain wanted for murder.

Why won't those villains be killed or sentenced to death under the hero system? After all, they will still kill for fun if they are released, so why keep them alive?

"This world is fucked up." He whispered to himself and made his way downstairs to get a chill bottle of water from the refrigerator.

'Maybe I'll go play video game to pass the time.' He conclude while gulping the chill water.

Yuta set the glass down, refreshed from the cold sip of water that eased the dryness in his throat. The sunlight streaming through the windows painted warm streaks on his desk, but his focus was elsewhere. He slid into his gaming chair, his fingers already twitching in anticipation.

Powering on his console, he wore his gaming headset as the familiar hum brought a small smile to his face.

His favorite game loaded, and within moments, he was immersed in the virtual world. Yuta's movements were fluid, his focus razor-sharp, every action was calculated with strategy. Time seemed to blur as he conquered levels and bosses, the adrenaline making him forget the mundane. In this gaming realm, Yuta was unstoppable…
