Ryouta Senju - Makings Of A Legend

Chapter 3: Getting The Hokage’s Attention

The first few months of the academy had gone by in a flash. The Senju heir attended the first week, but sent his shadow clone in his stead, instead choosing to train instead.

While the Senju heir indeed sent his shadow clone, he didn't have any delusions about hiding his talent.

Ryouta figured, the faster he left the academy, the faster he could graduate, the faster he could begin building his strength on his own standards.

'Wait. But. Orochimaru. I won't be protected at all against someone like Orochimaru if I graduate earlier. And the fact that I have Mōkuton which my parents have definitely brought up to the Hokage, this means by the time I graduate, I'll have a major target on my back by both Orochimaru and Danzo. They really want Mokuton and Hashirama cells specifically under their grasps. I'll need to be careful from now on.' Ryouta thought as he finished up the last bits of his training.

'That means by the time I graduate, I should be at least at the level of a low-mid chūnin. Whoever my sensei is in the future is guaranteed to help me with my talent as Hiruzen will definitely want to release my full potential.' The Senju thought as he took a breath.

'I definitely need to think of my future post graduation.' Ryouta thought.

Meanwhile -

After another successful taijutsu spar against Uchiha Sasuke, Ryouta's clone walked back into the crowd.

The chūnin instructors had noticed how easily the Senju heir had disposed the Uchiha patriarch's second born son, who was only second in the class after the Senju by a wide margin.

'I definitely need to report this to Hokage-sama. We might have a prodigy on our hands.' Iruka thought as he observed each of the syudents, noting that Ryouta was leagues above his peers, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he would stomp the second and third year students in the academy, perhaps even some of the fourth year students.

Which was unprecedented for a first year student who was just freshly inducted into the shinobi academy.

As the rest of the day wore on, Iruka's thoughts about Ryouta being a prodigy hadn't been in doubt. Once again, he displayed intellect and strategic thinking beyond his age in a quiz, by the end of the day, the chūnin instructor went straight to the Hokage's Building.

"Iruka-san. Can I help you today?" The receptionist, Ami, asked with a respectful, polite tone, a small smile on her face as Iruka reciprocated the warm feeling with a smile of his own.

"Ami-san. I'm here to request a meeting with Hokage-sama." Iruka stated as Ami nodded.

"Hai. If you could just wait 5 minutes, I think Hokage-sama is finishing up his meeting with Danzō-sama." She said as the name alone brought a feeling of dread to Iruka, but he didn't know why.

Deciding to ignore it, he maintained his polite demeanour, nodding and sitting on the seat provided for visitors patiently.

In The Hokage's Office -

"Hiruzen. If you won't give me the Kyūbi for me to train, then I will take the Senju instead." Danzō stated brazenly.

"Danzō! Leave the Senju alone! Or I will act against you personally!" Hiruzen exclaimed in response.

Danzō took note of the tone and understood the seriousness behind the tone. 'Hmph. I will get the Senju one way or another. Mōkuton is too powerful to be in control of a child.' Danzō thought.

"Leave Danzō. If I hear you made any attempt to recruit Ryouta-kun. It won't matter if you are my advisor, I won't hesitate to kill you." Hiruzen stated seriously, flaring his chakra as Danzo snorted.

"Whatever." The man replied as he stood up, not acknowledging his old friend or even glancing at him before turning on his heel and walking towards the door.

As he opened the door, he looked back at the Hokage. "Hiruzen. You will be the reason Konoha will fall. And I won't be there to watch it happen." He said before walking out, slamming the door behind him as he walked out the building, seething with anger.

Ami, seeing Danzō leaving buzzed the Hokage's office and after a few seconds, she looked at Iruka.

"The Hokage is expecting you, Iruka-san." She said as Iruka nodded, wondering why Danzō-sama seemed to be so angry.

He walked straight to the Hokage's office, knocking on the door as he heard confirmation to come in by the esteemed Hokage.

He twisted the door knob and pushed open the door, looking at the aging Sandaime Hokage who sat in his seat with an exasperated expression on his face.

"Iruka-kun. What can I do for you?" Hiruzen managed a tender grandfatherly smile for the chūnin instructor.

"Hokage-sama. I apologise for the inconvenience." Iruka stated as Hiruzen waved it off. "No inconvenience, Iruka-kun." He stated.

"Well. I came to discuss Senju Ryouta-kun." Iruka stated as Hiruzen suddenly perked up. 'Ryouta-kun, huh?' The Hokage thought.

"Senju Ryouta. Nothing bad I hope?" Hiruzen asked as Iruka shook his head. "No, no. Far from it actually. I believe it is necessary for Ryouta-kun to advance to a higher class." Iruka stated as Hiruzen's eyes widened.

"Advance?" Hiruzen asked as Iruka nodded. "Hai. Compared to his peers, Ryouta is far ahead of everyone. In the taijutsu spars, I observe everyone.

The first week, the best Ryouta, the next, it was Ryouta once again. I could chalk it up to chance, but up til now, Ryouta has not lost a single taijutsu spar against anyone in his class.

In fact, in his most recent one, he faced Uchiha Sasuke. The younger brother of Uchiha Itachi and second son of Uchiha Fugaku.

Hokage-sama, Ryouta stomped Sasuke, it wasn't even close, and what's even more shocking. He didn't even break a sweat. In fact. As I observed the fight, I could clearly see, Ryouta was getting bored, against the second ranked student in his class, Ryouta was bored.

But that's not it. A few weeks prior, as per the curriculum, we unlocked each of the students chakra in joint meditation. Hokage-sama. Ryouta's chakra was already unlocked prior to joining the academy, and his chakra reserves are on par if not stronger than that of the second in class, Uzumaki Naruto." Iruka stated as Hiruzen's eyes widened.

'On par with the jinchūriki!' Hiruzen exclaimed mentally. "That's not it Hokage-sama. It seems he can control his chakra with no issue, he was surpressing all of that chakra up until then.

That's not even mentioning his knowledge of topics. He has the best grades in all of the first year, with Sakura-chan, Sasuke-kun, Hinata-chan and Ino-chan coming after him.

"I believe we are pausing his development if we keep him in the academy. He may even be able to keep up with the sixth year students." Iruka stated.

"Iruka. Are you saying?" Hiruzen asked seriously. "Hai, Hokage-sama. I believe Ryouta is genin material already, he seems to already have the academy three in his repertoire and all seem to be mastered." He said.

"I believe if we gave the genin test to Ryouta right now, he'd pass with flying colours." Iruka stated seriously as Hiruzen thought about it.

"Let's not get too hasty, Iruka-kun. We don't even know whether Ryouta-kun is even willing to be placed in a higher grade, let alone graduate." Hiruzen stated as Iruka rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.

"Apologies, Hokage-sama. I just got excited." Iruka stated. "However. If what you're saying is true. Then I see no reason not to ask Ryouta-kun's parents and himself if he wants to graduate early." Hiruzen called for his ANBU after saying this as Iruka perked up.

"Tenzō. Call the Senju Family." Hiruzen stated as the ANBU with a cat mask nodded, disappearing from sight.
