Ryouta Senju - Makings Of A Legend

Chapter 2: Academy Days

The whole of the class gathered up on the academy training grounds. Ryouta stood with Shikamaru, Chōji and Kiba, the four of them having been friends before the academy so they naturally stuck together.

As he looked around at familiar faces, the Senju heir could also notice the unfamiliar civilian students.

Iruka was talking about the importance of taijutsu, talking about how its the essence of battle and will be used in any battle situation.

The brown haired student's eyes landed on a small, shy blond kid with three whisker marks on either side of his face. 'Naruto, huh?' Ryou thought with a smirk before glancing at the protagonist's future rival.

'And Sasuke. They both look so different in person.' Contrary to what has now become popularised in fanfiction, Ryouta didn't have any delusions about saving the Uchiha.

Unlike many of the dumb fanfictions he read where the mcs go out of their way to prevent necessary plots from happening, Ryouta didn't want much of the plot to change up to the point where both Sasuke and Naruto leave.

'The only significant thing that changes is Naruto becoming the Hokage, mostly. I will unify the shinobi world myself by becoming the Hokage.'

Ryouta's eyes then landed on Ino, who locked eyes with the Senju heir for a brief second before looking away with a flushed expression.

Ryou's gaze lingered before turning to the chūnin instructor who was beginning to teach everyone the necessary notions for the Academy Taijutsu Kata.

While Ryouta practiced diligently, geasping the aspect of the Taijutsu kata quickly and progressing far faster than his peers, he had no thoughts about using this style for himself, as did most of the other clan kids.

They were already in teaching or have already been taught their clan's respective taijutsu katas and had no need for the academy taijutsu kata, which was used as a basis for students to explore, create and develop their own taijutsu katas in the future.

Ryouta originally thought of implementing some of the academy's taijutsu kata to his Senju's, Flowing Fist, taijutsu style, but was utterly disappointed to find that the academy taijutsu style was just an underdeveloped Senju fighting style.

He remembered he had read this somewhere in his past life, but never actually believed it. The instructors had noticed Ryouta's immediate mastery and noted it.

While it may have been due to him directly being taught the Senju Taijutsu kata, the chances of Ryouta being a prodigy were high considering his lineage.

The taijutsu training continued on for another two hours, the students eventually grasping the concept.

"Alright class. Ingrain this into your memory Unless you are taught another taijutsu kata by your families, you will be using the academy taijutsu kata for the remainder of your time in the academy.

For your homework, I want you guys to be able to successfully fight with taijutsu. As in the next two weeks, we will be starting our taijutsu spars.

So by then, I expect you guys to be well versed in the art of taijutsu. Understood?" Iruka asked with a serious tone in his voice as the class nodded, recognising their teacher was being serious.

Iruka's eyes softened up. "Alright. Class dismissed. Remember your homework and focus on your taijutsu for the next two weeks. If you any of you guys can't keep up with your peers, I won't be happy." The chūnin sensei stated as the class nodded while packing their stuff up, getting ready to leave.

Ryouta and his friends all got together. "Ano, Ryouta-kun, are you coming with us to play ninja?" Ino asked as everyone looked at the brown haired heir expectantly.

"No. I've got training to do." Ryouta stated before turning on his heels and leaving in the direction of his clan compound.

'Might be a little harsh, but I've got no time to be buddy buddy with them.' The kid thought as the group of clan heirs looked at the back of their friend with exasperation.

"Looks like he's getting serious about being a shinobi. Mendokuse. Oi, Chōji, I'm going to go home, playing ninja is such a drag." Shikamaru stated with a yawn.

"Damatte Shika! You never play anyway!" Ino rebutted with an accused finger point at her friend from childhood.

She, Chōji, Shikamaru and Ryouta had been close since they were young kids due to their parents being close so they were aware of Ryouta's dedication to training.

"Whatever." Shikamaru stated as the platinum blonde girl fumed. "Alright. So that's Shikamaru and Ryouta-kun out. Guess it's just us 5." Kiba said while including his reserved friend in Shino.

The Aburame and Inuzuka clans were close, often pairing together along with the Hyūga clan to form tracking units, therefore Kiba and Shino were close from childhood.

"Alright. Let's go play." Ino stated.

Ryouta arrived at the luxurious compound of the Senju Clan, making a beeline straight to the vast clan library and pulling out ninjutsu manuals.

What he was searching for specifically? The Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. This was a jutsu he felt was a necessary jutsu for him, considering his chakra, which was comparable to Naruto's ever since awakening Mōkuton, there was possibly no limit to how many clones he could produce.

After finding the scroll, he read the contents of it. The amount of ninjutsu manuals in this library was limitless, truly the most versatile clan in Naruto.

Most of these techniques were created and documented by Senju Tobirama, his genius mind was something Ryouta had admired deeply when watching the show.

Anyway, the process of summoning a kage bunshin was simple. Dividing your chakra and distributing it evenly while visualising how many clones you want.

It didn't take long for an exact replica of the young Senju heir to appear right next to him as Ryouta smiled, his clone mirroring his action.

After instructing his clone to do some spontaneous commands without the original looking, Ryouta dispelled it and received the memories of exactly what the clone did.

'This jutsu is truly ingenious. The amount of uses for this is insane.' Ryouta thought as he continued working on the Kage Bunshin technique, perfecting the chakra output and making sure no waste chakra is lost in the process.

He also worked on strengthening the clone, adding more chakra into one clone and testing its strength, usually, the clone dispels in one hit, but when he put as much chakra as he could into a clone without it dispelling itself, he found that it didn't dispel until it was bleeding.

After a while, he declared that this was a successful find, this would be one of his most important techniques in the future.

After a quick lunch break, he went into the main family's training ground to experiment with his Mōkuton.

He found that he was able to merge with nature, immerse himself into a tree. This made his stealth otherworldly considering he could physically enter a tree branch like black zetsu.

This would be essential for assassinations before he was able to deflect opposition without thinking much as a domineering force of nature.

For now though. He'd have to use this.
