RWBY: Oscar the gamer

Chapter 68: Fire Up

Ding!

[Second Reword Dungeon Key, rank - A++]

Hephaestus looked at as he spoke. "Dunegone, key, is that how you level up".

Oscar then pulled out the key from the inventory. "Yeah".

Qrow just blinked as he spoke. "So it really does look you are pulling thing out of you're inventory, so where is the dungeon gate spawn".

Oscar read the description as went quite for a few seconds before he spoke. "You won't believe but um.... It is right here".

Both Qrow and Hephaestus blinked before glancing around the workshop.

Qrow groaned. "Of course it had to be here."

Hephaestus narrowed her eyes. "I swear if your magic dungeon thing wrecks my forge, I will make you rebuild it from scratch."

Oscar gulped and looked at the key again. The description was clear—the dungeon entrance will form at the location of activation. Meaning, unless he moved, the gate was about to appear right in the middle of Hephaestus' workshop.

Ding!

[A-rank Dungeon Gate forming… Location: Current Position]

Suddenly, the air crackled as a swirling black-and-blue portal began to take shape behind Oscar. The temperature in the room dropped slightly as an eerie wind rushed out from the gate.

Qrow instinctively reached for his weapon. "Y'know, I was really hoping to have a normal day for once."

Oscar sighed. "When have we ever had a normal day?"

Hephaestus pinched the bridge of her nose. "You better fix everything if something explodes in here."

Oscar turned toward the dungeon gate, gripping Crimson Fang tightly. "Well… only one way to find out what's inside."

Qrow smirked, resting Harbinger on his shoulder. "Let's see what kind of hell you dragged us into, kid."

Qrow then looked at Oscar as he spoke. "Wait can anyone but you even enter your dungeon".

Oscar just blinked as he spoke. "I don't know, I don't even know what happens outside after i go in, I know time passes like normal but that is all".

Hephaestus then spoke. "Only one to find out".

Oscar went inside of the Dunegone, as Hephaestus and Qrow tryed to go, it was like being bounced back by water.

Qrow blinked as he got and tapped the gate, it rippled like that do water. "Will that is something".

Hephaestus then spoke. "Ok what do you think it is happening in there"

Qrow srugged as he spoke. "I don't know"

Meanwhile inside the Dungeon, Oscar was destroying the monster, they looked like Grimm but the body was made out of fire and what ever the grimm was made out of, as did the Dungeons, it lava was flowing down form the sky, the ground was on fire a bit, and a giant hammer's were hammering down on something, as it looked like Artificer Workshop, which was also a perfect place for Oscar to finally train his [Lion Wrath - Flame Devourer] and his [Water Blast] skill, as then Oscar moved his hand as Absorbed a fire ball

Ding!

[Skill Activated: Lion's Wrath – Flame Devourer: (A powerful melee skill that allows the user to consume fire-based attacks and redirect them as their own. The more fire absorbed, the stronger the counterattack.)]

Ding!

[Skill leveled up

Lion's Wrath - Flame Devourer Level 3]

Oscar smirked as he felt the flames surge through his body. The heat didn't burn him; instead, it empowered him. The fireball he had absorbed flickered around his fists like a living entity, waiting to be unleashed.

Looking around, he saw more of the Flame Grimm prowling the dungeon. Some had the shape of Beowolves, while others resembled Nevermores with burning wings. The ground rumbled beneath his feet as another giant hammer struck the anvil in the distance, sending shockwaves through the air.

Oscar took a deep breath, then slammed his foot down, activating Water Blast.

Ding!

[Skill Activated: Water Blast (A technique that allows the user to condense and launch high-speed water projectiles, capable of dousing flames and impacting with the force of a bullet.)]

A jet of high-pressure water shot from his palm, slamming into a charging Flame Beowolf. The creature screeched as steam erupted from its body, extinguishing parts of its burning form. Taking advantage of the moment, Oscar lunged forward, channeling Flame Devourer into his sword. The blade ignited with stolen flames as he slashed through the Grimm, cutting it in half.

Ding!

[Skill leveled up

Water Blast → Level 12]

Oscar grinned. "Not bad."

He looked toward the massive Artificer Workshop in the distance. If this was part of the dungeon, there was a chance he could forge something new here.

His eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Guess it's time to see what else this dungeon has to offer."

Oscar then saw another Grimm, he activated his [Agility] skill as he then kicked the Grimm to a few other Grimm, as then uses [Water Blast] as he then killed them in one blow

Ding!

[Skill Leveled Up

Water Blast Level: 13]

Oscar looked at his water blast, it was his one hair oldest skill, as he spoken. "Wait this, it now the same level as my Fireball skill".

Oscar stared at his hand, watching the residual steam rise from his [Water Blast]. It had finally caught up to [Fireball], one of his oldest skills. That meant his control over water-based attacks was improving at the same rate as his fire-based ones.

He clenched his fist, feeling the shift in energy. "So I'm not just improving one element—I'm balancing both."

The dungeon wasn't giving him a break, though. More Flame Grimm emerged from the lava, their bodies glowing with intense heat. A massive Flame Ursa roared as it stomped toward him, its molten claws leaving scorch marks on the ground.

Oscar smirked. "Perfect test subject."

He activated [Lion's Wrath – Flame Devourer] again, absorbing the heat radiating from the Ursa. His body glowed with the stolen energy as he then combined it with Water Blast.

The fusion of fire and water created a powerful surge of steam around him. Oscar instinctively shaped it into a concentrated blast—Scalding Wave.

Ding!

[New Skill Unlocked: Scalding Wave – A fusion attack combining fire and water. Releases a high-pressure blast of boiling steam capable of burning and concussing enemies simultaneously.]

Oscar unleashed the attack. The Flame Ursa barely had time to react before the scalding steam enveloped it, melting its molten armor and searing through its core.

The Grimm let out a final screech before it disintegrated.

Oscar grinned. "Now that's an upgrade."

Oscar then spoke. "Let's use this new one".

Osacr then use [Scalding Wave] as he this time send as a wave attack, as it then boild the fire Grimms, as he then cut there head of, as he then turned Crimson Fang into his Gun modes and blasted then to piece's.

Ding!

[Skill leveled Up

Scalding Wave level: 3]

Ding!

[Skill Leveled Up.

Gun Mastery Level 20 (Max)]

Oscar just blinked as he spoke. "You have too be shitting me system, for Swords Mastery I need to make my own Sword Technique but for this I didn't what gives".

The system responded instantly.

[Gun Mastery reaches max level once the user demonstrates complete efficiency in all firearm-related combat styles. Sword Mastery requires a personal technique to reach the pinnacle of the art.]

Oscar groaned. "So basically, guns are easier to master than swords? That doesn't make sense."

[Correct. Firearms rely on mechanics, while swords rely on skill and creativity. Personalized techniques distinguish true masters.]

Oscar sighed, shaking his head. "Fine, fine. Whatever." He looked at his surroundings. The dungeon was still filled with Grimm, and the forge-like structures continued hammering down on molten metal.

A thought crossed his mind.

"Wait… if this dungeon is based on an Artificer's Workshop, maybe I can use it to forge my sword technique."

The idea clicked instantly. This wasn't just a place to fight—it was a place to create.

A grin spread across Oscar's face. "Alright, let's get to work."

With renewed determination, he dashed toward the nearest group of Grimm, ready to carve his technique into reality.

Oscar took a deep breath, gripping Crimson Fang tightly. If he was going to create his own sword technique, he needed inspiration. He looked around at the environment—the raining lava, the molten ground, the relentless hammering of the great forges.

"Fire and steel. Heat and pressure. Creation and destruction."

He dashed toward a pack of fiery Beowolves, their bodies burning with an eerie red glow. As one lunged at him, Oscar sidestepped, slashing upward in a swift arc. The fire clung to his blade, and instead of dissipating, it swirled around the edge.

Ding!

[New Skill Created: Infernal Edge – Level 1]

(A sword technique that channels absorbed fire into slashes, burning through defenses and increasing attack power.)

Oscar's eyes widened. That worked?!

Excited, he experimented further. As another Grimm charged, he twisted Crimson Fang, deflecting an incoming fireball and redirecting the energy into a downward strike. The sword ignited with blue-hot flames, slicing clean through the Grimm's body.

Ding!

[Infernal Edge – Level 2]

Oscar grinned. Alright, let's take this further.

He sprinted toward a larger enemy—a Beringel wreathed in flames. Instead of dodging, he planted his feet, inhaled deeply, and raised Crimson Fang above his head. The surrounding fire was drawn toward him, spiraling around the blade.

"If fire forges metal… then I'll forge myself in battle!"

He slashed downward with all his strength. The impact sent a shockwave of heat through the area, splitting the Beringel in two.

Ding!

[Infernal Edge – Level 5]

[New Technique Created: Molten Fang]

(An evolution of Infernal Edge. By continuously absorbing fire, the blade remains heated, increasing sharpness and cutting power over time.)

Oscar exhaled, his heart pounding.

"I did it. I actually made my own technique!"

Suddenly, a loud DING! echoed through the dungeon.

[Quest Completed: The will of a Craftsman]

Rewards: ???

A shimmering golden chest materialized before him. Oscar wiped the sweat off his forehead, a satisfied grin forming.

"Now let's see what I earned."

Oscar then opened the chest, as then he saw the system screen

Ding!

[Skill Orb Given, it can give one of the four skills

Water Wave Slash: (Covers the host sword in water, which the allows the water to cut like that of water, does Water Damage, deals Extra damage to Fire base enemy)

Rock slide: (Pulls earth from the ground and then slides down to the enemy doing Earth Damages)

Shadow Slash: (Cover's the host sword with shadow, as then the host does a cutting motions that looks like crescent Moon, deals Extra damage to Light bases and Holy enemy)

Commanders Touch: (No mana required, You can control objects with our touching the)

The skill the host gets dependant on the host luck]

Oscar smirked, all these skill were good, will only Half of them,if had to be rank, he would want what skill and what was he most excited for Water Wave Slash > Shadow Slash > Rock Slide > Commander Touch. I mens how had can his luck be, so he curse the orb.

Ding!

[New Skill gotten: Commander Touch]

Oscar blinked as he mentally screamed in frustration. "So this why my luck had been good the last few days".

Oscar rubbed his temples, taking a deep breath. Of course, the least exciting skill out of the bunch…

He sighed and opened his status screen.

[New Skill Acquired: Commander's Touch – Level 1]

(Allows the host to manipulate objects without direct contact. No mana required.)

He waved his hand experimentally, focusing on a nearby rock. It lifted slightly off the ground before wobbling and dropping back down.

"Okay… maybe this isn't so bad," Oscar muttered, testing it again. This time, he flicked his fingers, sending a stray Grimm tooth across the cavern.

Ding!

[Skill Leveled Up: Commander's Touch – Level 2]

His eyebrow twitched. Wait… this levels up fast.

Curious, Oscar grabbed Crimson Fang and tossed it in the air, willing it to stay afloat. It did. Then, he imagined it spinning in place—and it obeyed instantly.

"Hold on, hold on… this might actually be overpowered."

A wicked grin spread across his face as he pointed at a chunk of molten debris. It rose into the air effortlessly. If I train this, I might be able to fight without even holding my weapon… or control multiple things at once.

His frustration melted into excitement.

"Alright, maybe my luck isn't so bad after all."

(So before anyone ask Why I gave Oscar Commander Touch, it was one the 4 options, I decided to leave it up to a spin in a wheel and I shot you not I got that skill that odd were 1 in 4 like what)

To be continued
