Chapter 13:

After confirming his orders to Ding Su and assigning him responsibility over all the affiliated families in this city, Lin Fan finally left the city with his group, beginning their journey back toward the Xiao family.

The journey took three days until they finally reached the moving caravans of the Xiao family, which were slowly making their way to their final destination: Black Mist Mountain.

As soon as the Xiao family saw him from afar, the caravans stopped immediately, and Xiao Zhan, Xiao Ming, and Xiao Mi came out to greet him, all bowing respectfully before him.

"Welcome back, my lord."

Xiao Mi then approached Lin Fan, greeting him with a shy and respectful demeanor. He lifted her chin with his hand, flashing his usual lustful smile. "I missed you, my little toy. You must feel the same, don't you?"

"Yes, my lord. Your little toy missed you very much," she replied, blushing as she stood in front of everyone, while Lin Fan smiled, enjoying her visible emotions.

He then turned to Xiao Ming with a look of satisfaction, saying with a hint of surprise, "I see you've made swift progress, breaking into the first level of the Profound Heaven Realm in just a few days."

Xiao Ming replied respectfully, "It's thanks to your generosity, my lord. Since replacing my old technique with the one you gave me, my Qi has become much purer, which helped me overcome the barrier that was holding me back."

Lin Fan nodded in approval, saying, "That's true, but your talent also played a part." He then tossed him two scrolls, adding, "These are a fifth-level combat technique and a cultivation technique. Keep advancing at this pace."

Xiao Ming received the techniques with gratitude and overwhelming happiness. "Thank you very much, my lord," he said, sincerely thanking Lin Fan. Although he expected to receive high-level techniques, having them finally in his hands filled him with renewed excitement.

After this, Lin Fan settled into one of the luxurious carriages that had been specially prepared for him, and they spent the next two days on the road. On the third day, the awaited individuals finally appeared, as some powerful figures blocked the caravan's path, loudly declaring their identity: "Come out to meet your death, Lin Fan, for we, the Yu family, have come!"

Shortly afterward, Lin Fan stepped out of the carriage with confident strides and a sly smile on his lips, murmuring to himself with satisfaction, "Finally, they've arrived." He had, of course, anticipated this encounter, as a prominent family like the Yu family wouldn't let anyone harm their members without retribution.

But the expressions of the Yu family members shifted to shock when they saw Yu Kuan and the devil twins standing beside him. They exchanged glances, confusion and puzzlement apparent on their faces. One of them broke the silence, saying, "Yu Kuan! Have you abandoned your family to join this outsider?"

With feigned calm and a reserved tone, Yu Kuan replied, "I follow Lin Fan because he offers benefits that exceed what my family can provide. I see this as the best path I can take."

An outburst of disbelief and indignation erupted from them, one of them shouting angrily, "Impossible! How could Lin Fan possess resources beyond the Yu family? There must be another reason!" Their doubts only grew due to the implausibility of Yu Kuan's explanation, but Yu Kuan maintained his silence, his gaze gleaming with unwavering determination.

As the Yu family members struggled to understand their situation, Lin Fan gave his followers clear instructions, saying, "Surround them all, and don't let anyone escape!" Worry flashed across the faces of the Yu family, and they began to panic as they saw Yu Kuan, the devil twins, Xiao Zhan, and Xiao Ming surrounding them—all cultivators in the Profound Heaven Realm, making escape seem impossible.

Lin Fan smiled confidently, looking at the two leaders of the group, who wavered with anxiety, before saying in a calm yet challenging tone, "Don't worry, I'll fight you both alone. If you can defeat me, I'll step back and let you go freely."

They felt a slight relief at his words but remained cautious, as they had no intention of underestimating him. One of them whispered to the other, "Lin Fan seems arrogant… Each of us is much stronger than Yu Kuan; we should be able to defeat him together." What they didn't realize was that Lin Fan was, in fact, much stronger than they imagined, as news of his victory over the devil twins hadn't reached them due to their constant travels.

"Well then, don't regret your promise," one of them said confidently as he donned his gloves, a fourth-grade magical weapon.

Lin Fan smirked, saying, "Of course, don't worry about that." As he wrapped his hands in the Phoenix's blue flames, he suddenly lunged at them with ferocity, and the clash began in a flash of immense power.

'What?! He's incredibly strong—how is he overpowering us when I'm at the seventh level of the Profound Heaven Realm? He's a complete monster!' They were astonished from the first moment the fight began, realizing that his strength exceeded expectations, even though he was only in the Qi Condensation Realm.

Then one of them, a cultivator at the fifth level of the Profound Heaven Realm who relied heavily on his physical strength as a body cultivator, directed his blows at Lin Fan, trying to break through his defenses.

But Lin Fan skillfully dodged and countered their attacks, using the Phoenix's blue flames to block their strikes and deliver surprise attacks to their weak points. With each passing moment, Lin Fan's power became more apparent, while his opponents' panic grew as they hadn't expected this level of skill and strategy.

The battle continued, and to any observer, it would be clear that Lin Fan wasn't merely defending himself—he was testing his abilities and toying with his opponents, almost as if he was enjoying the fight.
