Chapter 1: Weird Blanket
Chapter 1 : Weird blanket
The morning sun crept through the triangle shaped windows, casting soft rays of golden light into the room. As the sun ascended in the sky, the gentle illumination gradually brightened the space, creating a serene and almost ethereal atmosphere.
The interplay of light and shadow danced across the floor, while the beams of sunlight kissed Zaner's face, urging him to wake from his slumber.
Zick... zick!... zick... zick! Zick... zick!... zick... zick! Zick... zick! Zick... zick!... zick... zick! Zick... zick! Zick...
"Fuck off!" Zaner slammed his hand on the alarm clock in frustration and extreme anger, feeling as though it had shattered his divine and wet dream. He despised the interruption, especially when he was experiencing such an enjoyable dream.
"Let me sleep, you damn annoying trash!" he yelled, hoping to silence the relentless noise.
Daaamm!
"This is what you get for annoying me," he muttered angrily.
After that powerful slap, which carried the essence of his intense frustration and pent-up anger, the annoying sound suddenly ceased, leaving him in blissful silence.
"Ahh... this is good. I can finally sleep peacefully now," Zaner muttered as he attempted to return to his arousing dream. But as he settled back into his bed, his senses quickly picked up on something strange... something weird that sent a real chill down his spine.
"What the fuck... is that thing?" he questioned himself, unable to believe the vision his eyes were showing him. The thing he had thought was his warm and lovely blanket turned out to be the outer scales-skin of some beast, more specifically, a giant anaconda.
"Am I still dreaming?" he cautiously walked towards the anomaly, his heart pounding in his chest.
The anomaly, which had disguised itself as his beloved blanket, was completely silvery in color with black or, more accurately, grey scales. It looked incredibly sturdy and even more terrifying. It was enough to scare the hell out of any so-called 'brave' individuals who dared to confront it.
After making sure that it wasn't harmful, Zaner delivered a strong kick to it, summoning all the power he could muster. He wanted to get rid of this eerie presence in his room as quickly as possible.
The kick aimed at the blanket, making a sharp air-piercing sound.
Suiiiiii
His kick was so powerful that the disguised blanket collided with the wall of the room with a force greater than ten thousand newtons. The impact was so strong that it reverberated through the entire room.
Bang!!
"Ahh... shit," Zaner exclaimed as he fell to the floor due to the unexpected force he had somehow summoned. He hadn't anticipated the sheer strength of his own kick, but he didn't care about that in the moment.
The innocent wall of the room, made of bamboo, sadly didn't manage to stop it, and the thing passed right through it, destroying the entire wall and turning it into a pile of 'not so ancient' ruins.
"Huh... bamboo! How could the walls be made of bamboo? Am I going insane?" he wondered aloud.
Not believing what his eyes were showing him, he slowly moved towards the wall and touched it, "Hmmm... It's really bamboo."
He slowly moved his eyes around the room and took a deep glance at the entire space. A wide, depressed grimace appeared on his face but was quickly erased.
The thing that he thought to be an alarm turned out to be a weird-looking insect. However, despite its insect-like appearance, it wasn't the least bit disgusting from any angle.
On the contrary, it seemed very beautiful, resembling a gem that could be embedded in a necklace. Its shimmering, intricate details were captivating, making it appear almost otherworldly. But, alas, it was already dead.
And if he were to say he didn't know what that strange creature was, it would be more than a word like 'shame' could convey. He had read the novel more than eight times, after all, making him very much familiar with the gu world and its peculiarities.
To admit ignorance about this creature would be a glaring oversight, given his extensive knowledge of the intricate and fantastical universe within the novel.
"How lucky of me! Fuck! I have to get transmigrated into this insane world out of all those good and easy worlds out there..." he felt like cursing out loud with all the breaths his lungs could muster.
The realization of his predicament hit him like a ton of bricks, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of frustration and disbelief.
...
"What to do... what to do..." Zaner muttered as he began to roam around here and there in his almost destroyed room. His mind was in turmoil, and his thoughts were in chaos, making it difficult for him to find a clear path forward.
"Will I get some kind of system or any other golden finger? Or will I have to struggle to survive just with my own guts and 20 years of experience and 8 times reading experience?" he pondered aloud, the uncertainty of his situation weighing heavily on him.
Zaner had been just a regular, mediocre scholar in his past life. He was nothing more than an ordinary person with an ordinary background. He still vividly remembered that awesome night party that he and his friends had conducted. But now, unexpectedly, he had somehow transmigrated into this cursed world.
"Nah... I am not that lucky to get a system," he said with a resigned sigh. "Looks like I will have to survive with my own guts."
After some time of roaming, which was exactly less than ten seconds, he finally decided to check out his aperture first.
"Huh... but how does one look upon their aperture? Shall I perform an X-ray or what?" he wondered, feeling a mix of frustration and curiosity.
"Ahhh... I am hopeless... or... maybe not?" he said as he folded his legs and started to fully concentrate his mind between the stomach area and the chest area of his body.
At first, he didn't notice anything, but when his concentration of mind and breathing reached a certain point, he could notice some space between his stomach and his chest.
It was in his body, but at the same time, it wasn't there. It looked like it was in a whole other dimension, but he was sure it was connected to him, both by body and soul.
He concentrated more and more, his mind no longer in turmoil, and his breathing was relaxed and calm.
Knock..... Knock.... Knock
He was almost about to succeed when suddenly a sound of someone knocking on his door met his ears.
"Uhh.. Who the heck just make me lost my concentration!", Zaner screamed with a raging voice.
After his shout, the knock on the door suddenly stopped after his scream.
"I am sorry for disturbing, but Clan Leader, is everything all right?" someone asked from outside the door, the voice so pleasant that even a crow would blow up with pride.
"Everything is all right, get the hell out of here, if you value your life!" Zaner said with an unmistakable tone of rage.
"This humble old man sincerely apologizes for disturbing the Clan Leader. If everything is satisfactory, I respectfully request the Leader to visit the Clan Pavilion in an hour," the man said, his voice tinged with a mix of fear and confusion.
"He's still alive. I was certain he'd be dead after that deafening sound. I was sent here to stage a performance, but why is the Clan Leader still standing? What should I do? What should I report to the elder? Perhaps I arrived too early..." the old man thought to himself, his mind racing with uncertainty and apprehension.
He decided it would be wise to come back in an hour and not to report this to the elder or a while.
...
After that, the old man seemed to have gone away, and the room once again returned to its usual peaceful atmosphere.
"Ok, let's see..." Zaner muttered as he once again continued his meditation, focusing his entire mind on his aperture.
In the next moment, the vision of his primeval aperture appeared in his mind. The aperture may have been positioned inside his body, but it was mysteriously unusual, limitlessly big and yet infinitely small.
The outer layer of the aperture was a thin light membrane. However, this white light was even more dazzling and shone upon the whole aperture.
In the aperture was a sea of primeval essence. The seawater was a yellow-golden color, the surface of the sea clear and calm as a mirror. The water level was almost at the height of the aperture. The entire volume of the sea occupied 94% of the aperture.
This was the Yellow golden primeval sea of a Rank four Gu Master, and...
"Oh holy shit, Rank 4!! Ahhhh... looks like I ain't dying that fast," Zaner exclaimed, his voice filled with a mix of surprise and relief.
"Also, now that I think about it, didn't that old man call me clan Leader? I was too frustrated to notice it back then, but now it all makes sense... Oh, I should also have gu worms. Let's take a look at them."
