Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 590: Vanguard Guild’s Situation

As Allison hugged warmly with Alexandra, the latter couldn't help but be surprised to see her here.

"I thought you were always staying at Flourish Haven." Alexandra pulled away from the hug gently and exclaimed in amusement.

"What brought you over here in Avalon City?" As she asked that question, she suddenly noticed Xu Feng's presence, which seemed familiar but failed to recall where she had seen him.

"Heh, I've got called over by my Uncle to teach in the school he is managing for a while." Allison smiled lightly and realized she was staring at Xu Feng.

"Oh, he's Xu Feng, a friend of mine." She then introduced him, wisely opting out of calling Xu Feng her student.

After all, he was adamant about dropping out, and it would be rude to address him as her student when she agreed not to.

"Xu Feng…" Alexandra murmured the name a few times before recalling that she indeed encountered him in the past. Coincidentally, it was also at the parking lot that she had met with him out of the blue.

"Oh, it was you from that time." She said, her eyes widened in surprise by the coincidence.

"Eh, you two met before?" Confused, Allison naturally couldn't anticipate the two knew each other.

"Yeah, we met in the parking lot once and I went ahead to introduce myself out of politeness." Xu Feng finally chimed in and explained the situation.

He then turned to Alexandra and smiled lightly. "I must have startled you back then, Miss Alexandra."

Alexandra quickly shook her head in response. Since she had verified that Xu Feng was indeed a tenant at Apex Tower, followed by how he was able to interact closely with Allison, her wariness and suspicion had decreased tremendously.

"Not at all. Since we're technically considered neighbors, it's only right that you wanted to introduce yourself." Alexandra giggled and said.

Her current mood and expression were a far cry from the past when Xu Feng first interacted with her.

"Anyway, I bet you two good friends must wish to converse further so this lamp shall disappear now." Xu Feng calmly said, choosing to leave them alone. Being a "lamp" was the saying of being the third person who shouldn't be in the scene when two people were more connected.

Therefore, to avoid the embarrassment of being subtly asked to leave or hinted to leave, he might as well declare his intention from the start.

Not to mention, there was no need to rush things further with Alexandra.

She was filthy rich, but it wasn't enough to force Xu Feng to do anything out of bounds.

Haste makes waste.

As Xu Feng exited the parking lot through the elevator, Allison subtly glanced at him briefly until she could no longer see his silhouette.

Amused by her cute action, Alexandra teased, "Oho, you already missed him? Could that be your boyfriend?"

"Nonsense, he's just a very good friend." Allison swiftly denied the notion and uttered.

With how swiftly she denied it, followed by her stoic expression, Alexandra shrugged in response. "Alright, I believe you, but what were you doing here? You better not tell me you didn't come here to catch up with me for some lunch."

"Oh, I've just had lunch."

"That's fine, we can always get dessert."

"You're trying to make me fat."

While the two women started giggling and conversing, Xu Feng returned to the condo in room 360.

To his surprise, it didn't appear anything had changed, albeit with some sticky notes placed on the refrigerator.

The note stated that she won't be back for a while so he had to stock up the fridge or other things if he used them all.

'Hmm, she's probably dealing with the aftermath of the city lockdown.' Xu Feng thought to himself.

For some reason, Avalon City seemed to have undergone a weird change. Not only was a lockdown implemented, but even the news broadcast was going bonkers, constantly mentioning how Avalon City's chances are coming up soon.

Although nothing much was released to the public regarding the situation, Xu Feng was sure he could dig something up if he investigated more thoroughly.

However, he couldn't be bothered since it was probably just some gossip or corruption on the city's officials which "indicated" the chances. In other words, it was just all political talks or works that he had no interest in whatsoever.

Shaking his head, Xu Feng went to take a shower to freshen up before hopping into his gaming capsule.

Not being able to enter the Divine World had caused him to feel some frustration. Yes, it was an addiction— but a good addiction, to say the least.

"Time to log in and check on the situation." As he logged in, Xu Feng finally returned to the Divine World, which felt even more like home.

What was most familiar was how his inbox messages were filled to the brim.

Over 999+ message notifications appeared on his system interface.

Before he could even get a chance to open the message and check who the senders were, he received a video call from Carmen.

Smiling bitterly, Xu Feng picked up the video call, and Carmen soon blasted him.

"Guild Leader, why hadn't you rested properly? It's only been a few days. Hurry up and go offline." Carmen demanded in a furious tone, clearly exasperated by his action.

Just who in their right mind would continue playing games instead of resting after undergoing major surgery a few days ago? It wasn't like he had just caught a simple cold, but something more severe.

The feeling of being bashed for doing something wrong was truly a special moment. After all, it meant that someone had cared for him, unlike his old days when no one bothered with him.

He chuckled softly and responded, "Relax, Carmen. Doctors discharged me from the hospital which meant I was perfectly healthy. I don't even need to take any medicine."

And he continued, "Anyway, how's the Vanguard Guild's situation? Is it undergoing any major problems or are we being besieged or sabotaged by others?"

Unamused by his question, Carmen had the urge to give him a punch in the face.

"What do you take me for, Guild Leader?" Carmen rolled her eyes. "Did you think the guild would be suffering heavily because of your disappearance? If so, then why even bother to recruit me?"
