Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 588: Drifting

As Xu Feng pointed at the cars that were following them at a fixed distance, he still tried not to jump to conclusions yet.

"Can you contact either of your Uncles and ask if they secretly deploy bodyguards to protect you?" He asked softly.

"I don't think so, but I'll ask." Skeptical of the situation, Allison still messaged Alfred and Ning Huo to confirm whether they truly sent bodyguards to protect her or not.

A short minute later, she received a response from both of them, claiming that they did not.

"They didn't," Allison said, showing her messages to Xu Feng.

"Okay, since they said it's not them, then buckle up." Xu Feng stretched his neck a bit.

"Buckle up?" Startled, Allison's eyebrow raised, but before she could inquire further, she suddenly got propelled back to her seat from the sudden acceleration.

Realization soon dawned upon her as she watched Xu Feng zooming past the cars up ahead, almost as if he was playing some racing game.

"Slow down, Feng!" She shrieked in panic when they nearly collided with another car. Enjoy exclusive adventures from My Virtual Library Empire

"Why are you acting scared when you accelerated even faster a few days ago when you brought me to your fancy mansion?" Xu Feng chuckled and continued to step on the accelerator, his hand holding onto the PRNDL, ready to shift gears to drift.

In a car chase, going manual was the way. Hence, he was ready to throw all the cars following them off their trails.

Meanwhile, Allison swallowed a mouthful of saliva as her hand reached for the handle to clutch onto.

She then defended her action, "How is my speeding similar to your current speeding? I was speeding on an empty highway, but you're doing this in a crowded street."

While she said that, Allison quickly closed her eyes. After all, she saw that Xu Feng was about to crash into two cars. Each one of the cars was driving in the opposite direction, so a collision in the middle meant certain death.

Nearly having a heart attack, Allison slowly opened one of her eyes, only to realize they had safely passed through the cars despite the narrow space.

When she thought it was about to be over, Xu Feng suddenly drifted from a straight line to the right side. The drift occurred just before the street light had turned red.

Panting nervously, Allison turned to glance at the back and realized no more cars were behind them.

"We lost them, so can we stop going crazy with the drifting?" She asked in an exhausted tone. For some reason, she felt that Xu Feng was taking revenge for her previous ploy of trying to frighten him by accelerating her speed on the highway.

"No, we haven't lost them." Xu Feng shook his head and continued to accelerate. He didn't drift randomly, but rather on a familiar street so he knew all the pathing and angles. If these people were adamant in tailing them, then they for sure must have split up through a shortcut.

'Want to track me? I've lost my vigilance briefly and already slipped up a few times. But not this time.' Having learned that he was actually being rather laidback and got spied on without noticing, Xu Feng had increased his awareness.

Time quickly went by, and the cars that were trying to trail behind Xu Feng had finally lost them.

"Damn it, the Boss is going to kill us now." One of the people in the passenger's seat exclaimed in a frustrated tone. "How did you even lose to a student's drifting? You better explain well to the Boss!"

"Are you seriously blaming me when that student drove like someone from Initial D?" The driver snorted coldly in response, clearly unwilling to take complete blame.

They then proceeded to point at the dashcam equipped in their car. "The Boss can watch the video and see that I tried my best, but that kind of drifting and driving skills are insane. I'm afraid we might get smoldered in between the cars if I were to follow that craziness."

Unable to refute their argument, the person sitting in the passenger's seat could only sigh softly as he dialed his phone to report their result.

A few seconds later after the reporting was done, the person got blasted in the ear by them.

"How could you possibly lose track of my niece? Do you all want to get fired or die? If my niece were to lose a single hair, then you all could rot in a coffin!"

"Boss, it's not that we didn't want to lose track, but it appears your niece's companion detected us and sped ahead."

"I don't care! My niece hates bodyguards, but I assigned it to them secretly. If you fail to find her within 10 minutes, then consider yourself unemployed!"

Beeeeep~

Following the last statement, the call ended and on the other side, a man who sat on the chair began laughing in a mocking tone at the furious and frustrated man standing near the large windows.

"Didn't I tell you that Allison's student was something else?" The man who was seated mused in humor.

"And how did you know he could escape the clutches of the bodyguards I've hired, Alfred?"

"Because you haven't met him personally yet, Huo." Alfred laughed heartily as he watched Ning Huo being dumbfounded.

At the same time, he extended his hand out and asked, "Shouldn't you pay up now? I've told you those bodyguards won't be able to track them long unless you come clean and tell Allison that you sent her the bodyguards."

"Tsk, I don't know what you're talking about." Ning Huo clicked his tongue and shrugged his shoulders. "What bodyguards are you talking about? They are clearly some intruders. Their guts are pretty high to ignore the city lockdown that I pressured them to do."

Speechless, Alfred rolled his eyes and spouted, "Stingy."

"Who is stingy? I'm always an honorable man, true to my words." Ning Huo smirked and sat down on his comfortable chair.

"Anyway, Allison mentioned to me that my son has been idling too much and even warned me about his health. Since Allison personally said it, my son is really helpless. Can you kindly train him about that Energy Power of yours?"

"It's Energy Force, not Energy Power!" Alfred corrected in an annoyed tone.
