( Arata's POV )

Chisaki told me that the strange cases she thought were coincidences escalated quickly, With her stuffed animals darting across her room and appearing in her tub while she was bathing, to me these all seemed like minor things, but things could quickly spiral out of control.

The things that happened always had to do with stuffed animals so I went over to inspect one, At first glance there was nothing strange, then I tried to tear off one's head but Chisaki tried to stop me.

Chisaki: Hey what are you doing!?

Arata: I don't know, if this is haunted, this should do something to stop me from breaking it or maybe there's something inside that was causing the paranormal activity.

Chisaki: don't do that.

Chisaki tried to snatch the doll from me but I raised my hands and she couldn't reach with her height, I looked at the stuffed animal again and it had put on an angry expression, something obviously impossible for an inanimate object, now I knew for sure that thing was possessed.

Before I could tear the head off the possessed doll, the two of us were pushed by an invisible force, we were thrown into bed and somehow we ended up in a compromising potion, My hands were on either side of her head as if I was pinning her and my knee was between her legs, this was the worst time for someone to enter the room so of course Chisaki's mother entered without knocking at that moment.

Hiyori: You must be hungry, I brought you some... Sorry my mistake take your time, I won't bother you.

As soon as she entered she left and her words left Chisaki blushing heavily, but even though she was like that we couldn't stop looking into each other's eyes, I've always been close to Chisaki and I saw her as a good friend but now I was thinking about how pretty she was, I caressed one of her cheeks with my thumb and she blushed even more, then I slowly moved my head closer.

Chisaki: I'm not ready yet, NO!

Chisaki reached her hands behind my back and she was going to hug me but her nerves reached critical levels and she ended up throwing me off the bed with a powerful slap, While I was on the ground I remembered why we were here when I saw Chisaki's dolls come to life and flew inside her room, Chisaki screamed in fear and I immediately stood in front of her to protect her although I didn't know exactly what to do in this situation but when the stuffed animals launched themselves towards me, a wave of black energy came out of my body, Chisaki was knocked out by that energy and the stuffed animals fell to the ground.

I wanted to check on Chisaki but I got distracted when I saw some dull lights floating in the room, they flew away from the house and I jumped out the window.

If I followed the lights, I would find the root of the problem, and as I ran through the dark streets those lights became brighter and brighter, After a few minutes of running I saw a mysterious hooded figure in an area near the mountains.

Arata: Hey, you're the one stalking Chisaki.

???: Hey, how did you find me? Whatever, I won't let you catch me.

The hooded figure pulled a leaf out of his sleeve and threw it towards me, a cloud of smoke was created from there and then in front of me appeared a kind of demon twice my size.

I just stood there seeing that but another wave of energy came out of my body, The demon completely vanished and the hooded figure that was also hit by that wave transformed into a little girl, but she had raccoon ears and a tail, I believe this was her true appearance.

I think she was a type of yokai called bakedanuki, using transformations and magic tricks to play pranks and other not so innocent things are her specialty, Thanks mom for throwing random supernatural facts at me all my life.

I tried to get closer but when I took a step forward, she cowered and covered her head in fear.

???: No, don't hurt me.

It wasn't the first time someone reacted to me like that but it hurts a bit when that happens, but despite what she did I couldn't get angry with her, I let out a sigh, sat down in front of her and stroked her head to try to calm her down.

Arata: Hey, I'm not going to hurt you.

???: You're not going to hurt me? You're not lying.

Arata: I won't, but could you tell me why you were stalking Chisaki?

The tanuki girl began to tell the story of her life, her name was Chigaraki Koyuzu and as a bakedanuki it was customary to leave her village at an early age and use her transformation abilities to integrate into human society but Koyuzu's transformation skills were not good and she had to live in an abandoned hut, then she found Chisaki and immediately became enchanted by her, Koyuzu wanted to transform into someone like her and used the stuffed animals to observe her closely.

Arata: I guess that's not a bad thing, hey would you like to stay at my house?

Koyuzu: eh?

Arata: My mother wouldn't mind if you stayed with us and Chisaki visited us regularly, that sounds good right?

Koyuzu: Yes please! Onii-chan you're not that scary.

Koyuzu jumped to hug me and I got up to go back home but at that moment I felt an intense gaze on my back, I turned around quickly and I saw a shadow jumping in the trees, that was the same thing I felt in the morning and this time I was not going to let him escape.

Arata: Koyuzu, wait for me here!

After leaving Koyuzu, I chased after the mysterious shadow that entered the forest.
