( Yuuki's POV )

I enjoyed my trip through the capital with Melina, and although she probably wouldn't admit it, she was enjoying it too, but at some point, that had to end, and that moment came when we reached the boss area, a boss that looked familiar to me.

Melina: That is Morgott, The Omen King, what you faced before was a mere projection of his real body.

Yuuki: Thanks, Melina, what would I do without you? But why use a different name?

Morgott: Deceitful dragon, your ambition ends here, have it written upon thy meager grave: Felled by King Morgott! Last of all kings!

Yuuki: Whatever you say, my friend.

I could feel the difference in power between the projection and the original but it wasn't anything threatening, I already knew this guy's style so I tried to finish things quickly, raising my replica black spear I used another black crystal comet but seconds after using the attack my replica weapon finally broke, it didn't matter I still had my colossal sword of light.

Morgott dodged my initial attack and dashed towards me with his staff sword raised, I guess he wanted to prevent me from charging another big magic attack, I blocked his attack with my sword and while we were locked with his other hand Morgott created a hammer of light, He sent an attack from my side but I created a colossal sword of glintstone to block his second attack, With a swift movement Melina jumped over Morgott and she threw a blade of light and she hit him behind his back.

Morgott flinched for a second and I took advantage of that opening, I took my Dragonewt form and grabbed the collar of Morgott's hood, I threw him over my shoulder and slammed him into the ground, then I threw him back against the wall and while he was embedded there I charge a Comet Azur in my mouth.

Morgott raised his hand and created several light swords above my head, but I didn't stop, if he wanted to play chicken, I was up for that.

Melina used an incantation that created pillars of light coming from above to destroy some of the swords, but she couldn't get them all, Then Morgott and I unleashed our attacks at the same time.

I ended up with light swords all over my back, but they didn't pierce very deep, Morgott, on the other hand, ended up losing a large piece of flesh under his left arm, which was now barely hanging from his body.

When someone is cornered is when they are most dangerous and Morgott demonstrated that when he began to release a great amount of power, a typical sign that someone was going to enter a second phase so I acted quickly, and it seemed that Melina thought the same as me because we both moved quickly and stuck our weapons into his chest, Melina burned him internally with magic while just the size of my sword did most of the damage for me, with his remaining strength Morgott put on a mocking smile and said his last words.

Morgott: fools, the Erdtree wards off all who dare approach, we are... all forsaken; none may claim the title of Elden lord.

Morgott closed his eyes for a final time, and another great rune appeared in my hand, then I set my gaze on the place where Morgott had come from, the entrance to the Erdtree was firmly blocked by strong roots.

Melina: don't listen to him, companion.

I took my eyes off the Erdtree and focused on Melina who seemed ready to reveal the information she was keeping to herself.

Melina: I can open a path for you, the truth is, finding someone worthy of the title of Elden lord was always my mission, I'm sorry I wasn't completely honest.

Our next objective was set, but before that, I took a few small detours, the rest of my allies at this time were in a place called Volcano Manor, they informed me that things were going well on their side, so I focused on other things, first I visited my favorite spirit tuner, Roderika, when a new Elden Lord appears I imagine that the tarnished in the roundtable hold who were looking for that title will disperse so I offered her a place in our group when that time came, she wasn't quite sure what to do but at least she said she would think about it.

After that I met up again with the one-handed redhead, Millicent, she was continuing her quest but she was having obvious problems when her sword hand was missing, at that point Melina told me about a prosthetic arm that could help her so I made another quick trip to collect that for her, and again he went on her way after thanking me for the help.

And the last thing before going to the mountains was a message from Astraea, she had found the trail of that woman who lived in death.
