( Erica's POV )

When the next class started, I kept my eyes on Yuuki while he maintained his casual attitude, when school ended, he walked together with Hajime, and we decided to follow them, well I decided that, and again, I dragged the other two with me.

When we gave up our search, our driver came to pick us up, I was upset because this felt like a defeat, and although the girls wanted to leave this to the adults, I was already planning my next move, but before he could come up with an idea the silver compass began to react.

Excited, I got out of the car when it stopped, I shouted not to follow me, and ran to where the compass pointed, But to my surprise that led me to a random student walking back from school, That seemed to be another malfunction but I had a feeling I should pursue this lead.

When I started to follow the student, Claire, and Liliana appeared behind me, probably to bring me back, but I didn't stop.

He walked away from the busiest part of the city and climbed some somewhat hidden stairs that led to a temple, We tried to follow him but when I put a foot on the step we were hit by a strong air current, I covered my eyes with my arm and when the draft stopped we were in a completely different place.

We appeared on the roof of the tallest building in the city and Yuuki was in front of us with the silver compass in his hand.

Yuuki: You are so persistent, I can't ignore you anymore, tell me, who gave you this trinket?

He had his usual carefree smile, but the aura around him had become more menacing to the point where speaking was somewhat difficult, Strangely enough, I still had a strong feeling that he wasn't going to hurt us.

Yuuki: not going to answer? Fine, then I'll break it.

When we didn't respond, Yuuki slowly closed his hand, and I could clearly hear the compass crack.

Erica: No, that's an important artifact from my family, I'll get in trouble if anything happens to it.

Yuuki: There are countless worlds that fit that description, but no, I was born in a place like this world but I am a descendant of aliens called Sekireis.

Erica: Don't joke, we saw you use magic, and that compass tracks magical signals, supposedly.

Yuuki: I'm not lying, some Sekireis have abilities that look like magic, and after traveling to a world with magical energy, I was able to use magic because the experience was transferable.

Erica: Have you traveled to other worlds? Intentionally? How?

Yuuki: Don't rush, it's my turn, you said that your ancestors come from another world, why stay in this world?

Erica: The portals to other worlds can only be crossed in one direction, with no way to return to their original world, they decided to protect this world from threats from other worlds, this has been the duty and honor of our families for ten generations.

Yuuki: And what do they do when a human or humanoid passes through those portals?

Erica: Nothing, after our ancestors you are the first human we have made contact with, as far as we know.

After asking his questions, Yuuki closed his eyes and became thoughtful for a moment, after that, he didn't ask any more questions while he answered all of mine, and when the interrogation ended, he asked us to keep what he told us a secret, at least for today.

Liliana still had her suspicions, and I saw that she didn't want to accept that, but I had other ideas.

Erica: okay but with one condition.

Yuuki: what?

Erica: When you travel to another world, you have to take me with you.

Yuuki: Do you know how dangerous that can be?

Erica: You've done it before, I'm sure you'll be able to protect me on your next trip~
