(Yuuki's POV)

I started walking towards the small room that connected to the roof, my bad feeling continued to grow, and when I reached for the doorknob, I heard a scream above me.

???: gotcha!

The world went into slow motion as I looked up and saw the unmistakable Erica with her usual smug expression bearing down on me, I could step aside and avoid her but she might get hurt, I could catch her but no, I think she was half expecting me to do that, I think it was best to close my eyes and take the hit.

( Erica's POV )

When my family relocated to Japan, I didn't think much about it, part of our family duty and nothing more, but on my first day at my new school, I saw something very interesting.

My family is very old and according to my father we are descendants of people from another world, people in our family have a different aura than normal people and in my class, there was a boy who stood out a lot, Just his appearance was one of the reasons but his aura was somewhat different compared to someone normal or anyone in my family, his aura was too intense.

I kept my eyes on him the whole time and when recess came I wanted to introduce myself more directly but he completely avoided me and headed to the roof of the school, I followed him closely without letting him notice me and when he went out to the roof I looked out the window of the door but I couldn't see him anywhere.

I thought he was hiding, so I opened the door and looked for him, but I couldn't find him, That only served to confirm that he was not someone normal, and I couldn't help but laugh when things became more entertaining.

After that, I kept my distance to avoid suspicion and when I left school I told Claire and Liliana about the interesting boy in my class, Claire was my stepsister, and Liliana was my childhood friend, but since we grew up together and her family belongs to the same organization as mine we are almost like sisters.

My theory was that that Yuuki boy was also a descendant of someone from another world just like me but they were doubtful, but it doesn't matter, I will convince them.

The following days, I questioned my classmates, but they didn't have much to say, Yuuki transferred to this school not long ago, and he only talks to a boy in the same class named Hajime.

When that didn't yield much results, I came to school prepared, when Yuuki went to the roof, I followed him and also dragged Claire and Liliana with me, when I opened the door, they saw the empty ceiling, and Liliana was the first to complain.

Liliana: What are we doing here?

Erica: Yuuki comes here every day, disappears, and appears again when the break is over.

Claire: Maybe you're seeing things?

Erica: No, he came here and he'll appear here somehow.

We climbed to the top of the room that connected to the roof and waited, I was focused on the task at hand, but the other two only got more annoyed, When the break was about to end, they stood up, but at that moment, something happened in front of us.

Erica: Down! Look at that.

Red cracks appeared in the air, and the cracks extended until they formed a kind of portal from where Yuuki came out, we lay down so that he wouldn't see us, I poked my phone out a little and took as many pictures as I could, and when he got close to the door I jumped on him.

Erica: Gotcha!

When I fell, I grabbed Yuuki by his shoulders, and he fell on his back with me on top of him.

Yuuki: ouch what's wrong with you?

Erica: I couldn't let you go, now you're going to tell me who you are and how you can use magic?

Yuuki: Magic? I don't know what game you're playing, but I don't want to take part in it.

Erica: You think I'm playing, so what do you think of this evidence?

I showed him all the photos that proved what I was saying, I smiled victoriously, and he frowned angrily.

Yuuki: What evidence?

When he said that I looked at my phone again but I couldn't find the photos, I got up and searched more closely but found nothing, these photos had been deleted.

Yuuki: If that's all you wanted to say, I'll be leaving.

Yuuki entered the school casually, and soon after, Claire and Liliana came down to where I was.

Erica: You could have appeared earlier.

Liliana: And, do what? Tie him up.

Claire: Don't worry, I took pictures too.

Erica: Nicely done.

We huddled together and looked at the photo Claire had, she took the same ones as me but they kept taking photos when I jumped on him and in one of them there was a strange blur, He moved his arm and touched my phone so fast that the camera could barely capture it and in the next photo Yuuki was looking directly at the camera, and I just knew that this was no coincidence.

Liliana: That should be enough evidence, more than this is beyond us, let's show this to our parents.

Erica: No, this is where we push it even further.

With a confident expression, I raised my hand and showed them the long silver hair that I had plucked from Yuuki, They both looked at me confused but then I took out of my pocket a silver compass that had no pointing needle, This was a ancient artifact from our family that could track the magical energy of a creature or person, supposedly.

I let my silver hair down over the compass and stared at it, waiting for something to happen, After a few seconds, the hair transformed into red particles that worked like a needle pointing at Yuuki, I think.
