Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Meeting Momo's Grandmother
After Kenji defeated sumo alien, Momo and Ken fainted from exhaustion. Momo used her powers too much in one day and Ken can't use his cursed abilities for long. When Momo fainted, her control over Ken's curse. The curse was taking over Ken, his face was covered with a red mask and he was writhing like a cramp was entering his limbs. Kenji was on his guard because if Ken choose to attack Momo he can save her immediately. Ken stood up, his consciousness was gone, Turbo Granny had taken over his body.
Instead of attacking, Turbo Granny look Kenji for a second. When Turbo Granny observed, the longer she watched, the more her power began to increase. Kenji smirked but didn't show any power or will to fight, he just waited for someone. The moment Turbo Granny attacked, Kenji's smile grew bigger and bigger, but he didn't move. And then Momo's grandmother, Seiko Ayase, come and saved Kenji from getting ripped apart.
"Are you trying to die? Why didn't you dodge?" Seiko Ayase asked, her sharp eyes fixed on Kenji. She knew he could have avoided Turbo Granny's attack easily. She could sense his overwhelming power—something she had never encountered before.
"I just wanted to see you in action," Kenji replied casually, stepping aside to watch the fight between Seiko and Turbo Granny unfold. He showed no fear, only an amused smirk as he leaned against the wall.
The battle was intense, much like a scene straight out of an anime, but this time it lasted longer. Kenji had provoked Turbo Granny just enough to keep her fighting harder, forcing Seiko to go all out. When the fight finally ended, Seiko subdued Turbo Granny and managed to seal Ken's body inside a temple room. She then carried her unconscious granddaughter, Momo, to her room to let her rest. Kenji followed silently and eventually joined Seiko in the living room.
Seiko sat down across from him, her eyes scanning his every move. "What is your purpose here?" she asked. Despite her inability to fully grasp the extent of Kenji's power, she knew he was unlike anyone she had ever faced.
Kenji chuckled lightly and leaned back in his chair. "I'm wondering that myself," he said. He was still grappling with the reason behind his reincarnation, but he believed the answer lay in following these key individuals—Momo and Ken. While doing so, he didn't mind using his power to amuse himself.
Seiko studied him carefully for a moment before nodding. "As long as you don't harm anyone," she said, her tone firm. Deep down, she doubted she could stop him even if his intentions were malicious, but she chose to trust his words for now.
The tense atmosphere gradually dissipated as Seiko brought Kenji some food. They shared a quiet meal together, a rare moment of normalcy amidst the chaos. After eating, the two sat in the living room, watching TV in silence. But the silence didn't last long because Seiko opened her favorite show and started laughing loudly. Kenji too started watching and found that it was actually funny. The two enjoyed the show.
Meanwhile, Momo stirred awake upstairs. The moment she realized where she was, she bolted downstairs, her heart racing with worry. She entered the living room to find Kenji and her grandmother casually watching TV. Confused, she scanned the room but didn't see Okarun anywhere. Panic began to rise in her chest.
"Where's Okarun?" she demanded, her voice tinged with fear.
Seiko glanced at her calmly. "He's outside, in the temple," she said.
Without a second thought, Momo dashed out of the house and toward the temple. She flung open the doors and froze in surprise. Inside, Okarun was sitting cross-legged at a small table, calmly eating a meal. He looked up at her with a faint smile, the previous tension completely gone from his face.
"Momo, you're alive," Okarun said exitedly. He was relieved because he thought he killed her in cursed state.
