Reincarnated as a Super Battleship

Chapter 3: : Tag Teaming is not Fair

Hello I'm back and man these last days are making my mind go in a loop.

Opening school in 2 days yet here I am typing away at night instead of getting sleep.

I'll try writing in first person as a test

Pain.

That what I felt.

The pain of being bored. I look around and all I see is bloody ocean till the horizon, no land anywhere. At times I could swear I saw the sun move across the sky as I sailed in the ever blue waters.

After 2 epic battles against a giant shark and a giant squid, no other monster wanted to come and get me. Either they were wimps and scared of her or it may be the noise produced by her propellers that deters these monsters.

With her multiple visons she could keep track of her surroundings using radar, sonar and other visions. Lately her sonar detected multiple giant monsters sailing beneath her which made her prepare her ASROC to fire but they would only pass her not even bothering to surface.

Sometimes her radar would pick up something flying in the air though, she didn't really believe it as her radar was too unreliable and downright useless but it did make her wonder if dragons were real in this universe.

If so then she would blast it away with her beehive shells though it would be questioned if hot rods can penetrate a dragons scale.

But now, her main opponent was boredom. When ones bored, time loses meaning and thus they find themselves doing weird things.

'Hmm, I wonder what those catapult things are for'

In my boredom I begun looking at my ships body from the front to back until I realised that there were some two catapult things at my back. Even when zooming in I couldn't understand what they were used for but there was this feeling of understanding of what they do.

It's like you trying to remember something but it's just not there yet, it's at the tip of your tongue yet you can't remember. That feeling is the absolute worst, in my opinion. In the seconds that past a beep sound from my unreliable radar saying that there was something closing in from my 3 o'clock.

I sighed at this false reading, wait how does one sigh in a ship wait I'm going off-track, I looked in said direction not seeing a thing which made me realize that the radar was pure garbage if I had the chance I would have swapped it with the AEGIS system though I'd have to get missiles for that which means getting a modified hull.

Just thinking of the numerous ways I could make myself unstoppable made me distracted as a dot was suddenly growing bigger and bigger on my right side. The radar gave out another beep but it was too late as a blur passed over me. Quickly changing visions I looked at the creature which was a dragon true and true.

Its scales were black in colour with red veins travelling all around it and its size was at least 2 times my size which meant that it was a very powerful dragon as its piercing red eyes gazed at my ship with a look of confusion.

A standoff ensued as my punching guns were aiming at its dead centre ready to lob 18 inches of pain into its body but it seemed the dragon didn't want to fight as it snorted flames from what looks to be its nose before flying away to a random direction.

I suddenly let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. Black smoke stared spewing into the air from my smoke stack which made me realize that that was my nose.

'Why would a dragon come all the way here in the middle of an ocean'

To her knowledge dragons normally fly where land is close which may mean that there's land nearby or that dragon could be flying in a random direction.

But something still wasn't right. The image of the dragon appeared in her head again which made her think of that catapult until she got it, like one of those eureka moments.

She remembered that WW2 ships used to have catapults to send out recon planes, which she rarely used when she played Wows.

She tried feeling around her back if the planes were with her mind. After some trial and errors she managed to find the planes now she had the task of removing them. She tried mental pulling at the planes which got some results as she felt something moving out and be put on her deck.

Looking behind her she saw the plane out basking in the sunlight. It was a single prop at the front, it had a single set of wings with floats attached at the bottom and an attachment for a bomb though it wasn't there as this was purely recon. Also on the deck was a crane, it moved sort of like an arm which made it easy to control as she hooked the plane and placed onto the catapult.

The next problem was how to start the engine as she didn't see any imaginary crew running around helping her. She just looked the plane and tried many things like manipulating it using her mind or trying to force her power on it to move. All of those failed spectacularly.

With a sigh defeat, she looked at the sea and thought of the view within the plane and how nice it would look like. One moment she was looking at the sea the next she was staring at her rear turrets.

This obviously startled her making the plane rock back and forth. She managed to calm herself as she got her bearings making her realize that she's in her recon plane. She had two visions which had a field of view similar to a human but she could turn 360. one was on the top side the other on the bottom of the plane.

'Wait so I just have to think I'm in the plane to make it switch!?'

She tested that out by thinking she was in her ship which made her scene change to the sea. It was that easy yet she thought it was completely different and in a sense she indirectly called herself stupid.

Putting that aside, she focused back on the plane sitting on the catapult. With some effort she swung the catapult to face the ocean making sure that there was no obstacle in its path. She immediately switched to the plane as she started to get a grasp at how it feels.

Her engine was somewhat on and only required her to think of the prop spinning for it to come alive. She throttled it a bit before letting go as she got a grasp on her flight controls. Basically if she thought of tilting to her right the flight controls would move according to her thought which in all means fast reactions.

With all the basics check she throttled the engine to full which filled her ears with a buzzing sound. It was time to see if her skills in war thunder and other flight games would pay off. She could feel the latch stuck to her underside and with all things set, she released it pushing the plane forward with speed before she suddenly felt free.

It was shaky at first but she managed to level it out. From her view she could see her magnificent ship sail through the ocean without a care in the world and from all the up there it kind of looked small.

First on the list of things she has to do was to find land. She had a feeling that if she went in the direction where the dragon came from she may reach land. Putting that to the test, she throttled the engine to the max as she climbed to her highest altitude which was around 3,300 feet.

Up there she saw clouds in the distance that were much higher in altitude than her plus some specs in the distance that may be birds.

The ship was now miles away and it was only you and the air. The feeling of air passing over your wings and the feeling of your engines as it powers through the air gave rise to feeling of happiness making her feel that she's on top of the world.

She continues to maintain her heading as she looks around only seeing ocean and the occasional creature surface for air. She still continued even further even as she was starting to feel hungry until she saw a spec on the horizon.

She tilts her plane downwards making her lose some altitude until she was below the clouds. It was there she saw a mass of green in front her.

'Yesss! Land finally'

Using the sight below the plane she zoomed in on the beaches and grasslands noting the many plants and what looked to be a giant boulder on the beach. It looked slightly larger than her hull but she didn't look into it as she was becoming even more hungry.

There was only one thing she could be feeling hungry and it was plain simple Oil

She banks the plane to the right as she starts heading back to her main body. For some reason, she had this seventh sense where she knew where here ship was and how far it was, with the amount of hunger she was feeling, she knew she would barely make it before she passes out.

She put the engine to max hoping to reach their faster as her plane cut through the air. Time had no meaning as her mind only thought of reaching the ship, thus she didn't notice a dark shape trail her through the oceans.

She felt like hours had passed, but she knew that she was close as black spots were starting to fill her vision. She still pushed on even as her engine was sputtering out.

'Come on just a little further' she says as something appears in her vision ;Yes, made it'

It was that moment that he engine stopped, without it she was forced to glide into the water even as she felt like passing out she persevered and somehow managed to land in the water, the floats keeping her above the water. Once she safely landed she passed out for a few seconds but woke up on her ship.

The float plane was nearby so she only had to stop her engines once she near it then use her crane to pick it up, though the waves kept pushing the plane so it felt like she was doing that crane game in the arcade but she finally managed to grab it and haul it to her deck.

Under some forces the plane's wings were folded, then she mental pushed the plane which made some tracks take it to where it stored within her.

With the recon over she immediately turned her bow to where the land was but her sonar suddenly begun pinging like crazy as something was directly below her.

Bang!

Her bow was hit with such force it lifted up into the air before slamming back down, damaging her sonar. The sonar screen was becoming wavy as the sonar rods on her bow where damaged but who said she didn't have backups.

The screen returned to normal as it suddenly showed an enemy coming at her fast from her right side. Two of her right ASROC sprang into action as they each fired two missile torpedoes. A white line of smoke was left as their wake as the missiles headed to the last position before detaching the torpedo part close to the target which released a parachute that slowed the torpedo part until it touched the water where it detached the chute and activated its own sonar locking on to its big target.

In the face of sonar the creature couldn't escape thus from the ship 4 large water columns erupted from the ocean showing that they exploded. She eyed the sonar as it tried picking up the monster but couldn't almost like it escaped.

After waiting for some time she knew the monster escaped but then a thought crossed her mind.

'What hit me'

The sonar showed that it was big and it would have to carry a lot of force to lift her bow, but as long as it didn't return she was fine with that.

After that incident her ship continued on until she could see a spec in the horizon that was becoming bigger and bigger until she thought.

'Land ho!' her ship horn blared three times as she sailed towards however a commotion caught her sight(s)

A large splash of water could be seen from the beach as something was brawling there. She fixed her main guns as she eyed the two monsters that were duking it out.

One was a giant crab on steroids that looked more deadlier and its opponent was an equally giant lobster. What a lobster was doing all the way on the beach, she had no clue. The two were currently fighting and it seemed that were equal until one of them noticed the giant ship in the background coming straight towards them.

'They stopped fighting did something happen? Wait don't tell me they're going to'

Here question was answered as they both charged towards her. To her, it was a plain dumb move but she could get two free gifts. The two main guns at her front come alive as they sent AP shells down range but something shocking happened.

*Ding*

Her AP shells bounced of the crab, the lobsters also bounced but not without cracking its shells but the crab had minor cracks on it.

AP. Freaking 18 inches of AP was deflected by a shell! Now she was sure that something fishy was going on as a crab's defence shouldn't be at the point it deflects an AP shell.

Well if you can't pen them set them on fire. (That's what I always do in WOWS if I can't pen the enemy) meanwhile her secondary's where already at it and the explosions were leaving scorch marks on the shells.

She could feel the loading finished and aimed her sights at the face of these monsters.

BOOM

Her HE shells left the barrels and impacted the face of the creatures causing them to roar or scream in agony as they slowed down.

Early win, her secondary's were still going at it as some small fires were lit on their shells defying nature. But in all that explosion the two monsters were glowing red which was caught on by her. She was going to open fire but the two monsters rushed each other with speed.

Moments later a red light filled her sights as something was happening and she felt that it won't be good. The light disappeared and in its place was an abomination of a creature. Just think of a crab fusing with a lobster and you have your monster with 4 pincers

The fused monster pinched its claws as it paused before rushing her with speed not seen before. Her secondary's and AA do their best as the monster was heading straight for her and its time like these she curses her main guns slow rotation.

The small shells didn't do anything to the monster as it slammed into her hull making tilt considerably before tilting back and levelling. Its pincers were snapping away at everything: her bridge, crushing it and shattering the glass, her AA on her right side were smashed to pieces as their turrets caved in from its monstrous strength.

Her secondary's blasted as much lead into its face but its barrels and turret were crushed causing the shells within to explode showering her hull with flames that quickly caught on to her damaged AA on her right side. A loud groan sounded from her hull as she could feel something solid on her bow. She was beached but that didn't stop her from taking vengeance.

'Eat lead you mutant' her 2 front main guns unloaded their shells at point blank smashing into the creatures face then exploding sending smoke everywhere but a roar confirmed the damage.

One moment later her bridge was torn in half as two pincers literally snapped it off and thus her main fire control table was severed and switching to auxiliary was taking time. In that time the creature tore her two frontal guns off their casings.

They still had shells in them and thus exploded violently in the monsters grip destroying two pincers and this made it roar in pain, opening its mouth

Time for some payback. Her final main gun had its sights locked and AP shells ready, with a resounding boom they fired into the monsters mouth and it being fleshy inside passed straight through the muscles until it exploded somewhere near the brain.

The boom could still be heard from outside as it thrashed it body around destroying her final turret but the damage was done as the monster slumped into the ocean, its brain dead and thus its body dead as well. In all, food will always be beaten.

In the entire battle she realised something. She couldn't feel anything. Right now she should be feeling pain but wasn't which was something weird as she could definitely feel the shallow waters around her and the beach on her bow. She would've continued that thought if the giant corpse wasn't engulfed in flames.

Using her AA on the left she locked for the demon until she spotted it hovering above her on the left side not caring that she's smoking and more importantly on fire.

"Hmm, I didn't expect you to be beaten this much by such weak prey" the demon said as she slowly descended.

If she could she would have given that demon a piece of her mind but just remained silent.

"Not going to comment, okay. Let's first get you healed" like before she takes out a dagger a cut her herself letting only a drop of her blood touch her scorched deck.

Almost immediately her body begun reforming itself as black flames were dancing around her deck as her injuries seemingly healed herself until she looked brand new.

"Okay for that one soul I'll give you one gift as per the contract"

Hold up something isn't right here. 'Wait I battled two creatures how can that equal 1 gift, your scamming me!'

"I'm not scamming you, whatever that means. I received one soul so I'm giving you one gift"

This girl wanted to feel her wrath. Her main guns unconsciously moved to where she was floating, shells armed.

'I'm telling you, I fought two separate creatures at the beginning then they did this weird fusion thing and became one mega creature so in real sense I should get 2 gifts' tensions were rising

"I'll say for the last time, the soul I received was 1 and per the contact if I receive 1 soul you get 1 gift there was no mention if a creature just so happened to have the fusion skill, so in real sense it your fault for not thinking of that problem" the demon smiles knowing that she was right.

'All right I've had it with this woman!'

RA ta-ta-ta-ta-ta

Ka-boom

All guns opened on the demon who didn't seem surprised by this as they dodged the secondary fire but AA shells were just bouncing of her armour. The firing continued for a while until the big guns opened up.

For the demon time was moving slowly as she watched the shells, bigger body, graze her body as it was spinning through the air. Other shots zoomed by her but 2 were going to hit her even if she dodged, so she simply out stretched her hand and caught one and let the other impact her armour.

A resounding boom sounded throughout the beach as a plume of smoke was left by the explosion.

'Eat that you, you… demon' Haruka said as she stopped as she stopped her onslaught of bullets.

The smoke cleared to show the demon holding an 18 inch shell with one hand while her armour had a slight dent from the armour piercing shell, this made Haruka chuckle awkwardly at the sight of no damage.

"Hmm, you seem to not know your place in this deal." her face is marked with a small smile that makes her look terrifying to look at, same with her glowing red eyes "You fight creatures, I collect the soul and give a gift as per the deal but it seems you need to know your place"

Ehh,

Before she could react the demon was already at her bow, the shell she was holding was tossed somewhere but now she felt weak and that was shown as the demon lightly punched her bow armour. This somehow had enough force to rotate her ship and un beach itself. She moved 70 thousand tons with a light punch!

This just further solidified that the creatures of this world are way too strong. Oh and speaking of the demon,

"Are fine with you one gift or should I teach you more" she flexed her arm to show what she was talking about.

'I agree! I've already learnt my lesson!'

"Good then pick your upgrade or whatever it is"

Looking back at the fight with the combined monster she realised that the weapons she has won't do well, as surely the higher tier monsters would have skin or scales that AP won't penetrate, so if she can't get inside she just needs to increase the damage output to be more than her HE and what's more deadlier than that weapon.

In the turret ammo stores we see a new type of shells added to the list. It was black in colour and very much radioactive.

What more do you want other than

[Type 99 nuclear shells

Based off of the American W19 16 inch nuclear shells.

These 18 inch ones are not to be thought similar

It holds more uranium than the 16 thus has a larger kiloton of 20 to 28

Iowa's had 15 to 20 kiloton

In all nuclear shell go boom!]

And now all that was left was to test fire it and what's more perfect than an empty land in front of her. She set to work loading her guns with the nuclear shells but noticed something strange.

'Why are you still here?'

The demon was still there "That weapon, from your thoughts you said it was destructive and I'm only here to see if it's true"

'Okay but stay well clear from the land and the blast zone, here goes nothing'

With all 3 guns in place and barrels already inclined all that was left was to fire and see. She took a deep breath before firing all main guns, their shells having tracers making her see them climb into the sky as she aimed them deep in the land mass.

The shells soon levelled out before the started to plummet towards the ground as soon a bright flash of light was seen followed by them seeing a the air being displaced really fast as they explosion begun forming a mushroom cloud and strangely she could even see the shock wave approach them as trees were uprooted right in front of their eyes as the shockwave slammed into them breaking the glass in her bridge and knocking her radar offline.

Not long after the shock wave the heat wave followed scorching some of the plants on the land as the mushroom cloud still hang in the air. She switched her gaze to the demon who's face could be described as ecstatic.

"That power is amazing! I don't think a titan class monster can survive such, a primordial may be tough to beat even with that and ahh, it seems that you managed to kill an earth dragon that was living there" she said as a glowing orb appeared in front of her.

Hearing her test fire obtain a kill was like music to her ears. When in doubt go nuclear it always works.

For her second choice she thought about how that fused monster easily tore apart her superstructure so in basic sense she needs a better defence and the one armour scheme she knew was better was a wild one.

[Carbon fibre Chobham armour

This is what you get when you take something that's said to be better than

Composite armour, as its made of depleted uranium and other synthetic materials

To provide greater resistance but it is heavy

And carbon fibre which is 10 times stronger than steel and extremely light weight

And has very high tensile strength

You get an armour that adds say 500 more tons to her weight but

It is way stronger and somewhat flexible]

For her after she received the upgrades she felt something.

She felt unstoppable

Even if she's facing Cthulhu himself, no one can be undamaged from nuclear shells. If the explosion didn't kill you the radiation will slowly poison you to death. Somewhere after the last upgrade, the demon left after healing the broken glass and other damaged parts.

Now she was all alone again, with no destination in mind she decided to follow the beach strip until she comes across a civilization, if there was any.

To her left, she could still see the mushroom cloud left by the explosion which made her wonder if her secondary's received any nuke shells. That was put to the test as she aimed her secondary's towards the land again and thought of loading the type 99 shells in the turrets.

Soon the shells were fully loaded and fired. The shells didn't travel far before they impacted the ground, exploding in a blinding white flash of light before two tiny mushroom clouds were spotted rising up. The shock wave and heat wave that followed were not strong to damage any of her components but it made her realize that her secondary's and main gun were the only ones that nuclear shells to her knowledge.

Seeing the nuclear shells made her think of future upgrades which were quite a few, enhancing her AP with depleted uranium, getting the most advanced fire control radar and maybe AEGIS though the latter would be used in tandem with missiles.

Changing her 25 mm to either 40 mm or 76 mm inch auto canons that could be used for surface and air targets. And maybe changing her secondary's to a single barrel canon with a 155mm barrel. For removing the two extra barrels she could get even better accuracy and consistent rate of fire.

Even with all these modern changes, she still didn't know if she could challenge these top monsters but we all know if the job gets tough use nukes!

Putting her thoughts she begun to look around the coastline, looking for any more crabs but seemed that they disappeared. In the end, she didn't pick up any creature nearby but her hearing picked up a tune or a song of sorts.

At first she thought it was the wind but soon realized that it was a tune which means, Someone was singing!

Her boilers turned up the heat as she felt joy that she wasn't alone. Her ship was steaming full ahead as it went straight to the source of the music. As the got closer, the music increased in volume and the sense of numbness was begin to spread even more.

'Wait numb!?' Her movements were becoming more and more sluggish as she continued towards the source eventually making it that she couldn't move her body by a tilt. The next thing she knew, she could see a jagged rock from where the voices were coming from and already she could feel that she knew what was doing this.

On the rock were countless creatures who looked paralysed and at the top she saw what looked to be humanoid fish but the name they were known for was Siren.

Mythical creatures that hypnotised sailors of the past making them ram their ships into these jagged rocks destroying their ship and making them easy prey, that is why when you hear random singing at sea cover your ears with ear plugs.

Though, she didn't even have a clue where her ears were in her ship body thus making it impossible cover her ears. Her ship was still sailing forward at full speed, which if she rammed the rocks it would her getting injured not the other way around.

'Come on body why won't you respond to me' even why she focused to move her body it didn't budge and those rocks were becoming closer by the second. 'Guess I'll have to give it my all in one go'

She set her sights on turret 1 and seeing as how it was pointed at the rocky outcrop made it all easier as she focused on firing. She could feel a barrier blocking her actions but that barrier was becoming weaker under her mental power. Until it finally broke down with a

BOOM!

A bright flash of light was seen on the rock, lucky she used HE not nuclear, scaring the sirens and making them stop their singing thus releasing the hypnosis on every creature. Now that she was free she swung to her right to show her broadside so as to remind these sirens who they were dealing with.

The massive booms shook her hull as she sent 9 HE shells to the sirens. The result was spectacular bombardment as the sirens jumped into the water to save themselves thus ending up not killing any siren. With that out of the way she went back to following the coast line but when she was some 18 km away from the rock she fired her rear main gun at it.

The shells weren't the HE but the type 99 ones as a bright flash of light erupted displacing the water and the sheer force of the explosion shattered the rocks and created a huge shock wave and heat wave that vaporised any living thing in the centre of the explosion.

For the fishes they just had a miniature sun dropped on them.

With her final revenge over she continued on her journey without getting disturbed but some kilometres behind her, multiple siren heads pop out the water as they stared at the receding form of the metal ship.

With a shriek they begun to sing again but this wasn't your normal hypnosis song it was something worse as the temperature suddenly dropped causing bits of ice to form on the water as their chant grew louder and louder until some kind of hazy black aura surrounded them before the aura shot off to the metal ship, striking it in its rear and enveloping it in its aura before dissipating away.

With their task done they went back below the waves as the metal creature suddenly had a target on its back.

With said creature, she was humming a song in her mind as she passed another beach area. She was close but not close enough to make her get stuck on the beach. She continued until she felt darkness overcome her vision as all her guns barrels tilted downwards as she lost consciousness.

The final sound she heard was that of her bow ploughing through the sand and into the hard ground before she fully passed out.

Zee end.

Finally done, hope the chapter pacing was good and all.

Next chapter would have a longer wait period as I'm starting school soon, Yaay '-'

Anyway, thank you reader for reading this and I'll see you in the next chapter. which may not come out after some months or so.
