Reicarnated as a Hyuga in the Warring States Period

The events of that night caused a stir in the Hyūga clan. The patriarch was furious and ordered an investigation to find out how an enemy ninja could enter the clan grounds unimpeded and kidnap one of their youngest geniuses.

The result of the investigation and the interrogation of the captured masked ninja revealed that it was thanks to a captured chunin. It had been put under a genjutsu and he revealed all the information necessary for this heist.

The culprit was a minor clan from the Land of Waters who, for some reason, believed to get away with provoking one of the biggest and most influential clans in the Land of Fire. A week later that minor clan was no more.

After this, the patrol rounds changed and the security became tighter. To avoid another situation like this happening again from now on every younger member of the main house will always be guarded by two branch house members.

5 Years passed.

Hezel's training continued, spurred by the realization that his carelessness had almost caused him to die. The first thing he did was to train his sensory ability to be able to keep it on always in every situation. He also mastered all the jutsus available in the clan library.

By doing so he learned that he hadn't a natural affinity for water or earth. Instead, he had an affinity for wind techniques. Unfortunately, chakra paper hadn't yet been invented so he had to search for his affinities through trial and error.

He had also made remarkable progress in opening the 8 Gates: he can now open 4 gates comfortably. However, this is how far he will go with this technique as his ever-increasing chakra reserve made opening other gates an insurmountable task. Not even his top-notch chakra control and his strong body could offset that. He had reached a mid-jonin chakra reserve.

But that day wasn't about regular training. That day was about senjutsu chakra. He had been able in these years to detect the scattered singular strands of senjutsu chakra in the air.

Now he wanted to absorb them one by one and then merge them with his chakra until he triggered the sage mode.

He started with one strand. He slowly merged it with his chakra. He encountered some rejection but as he persisted he was able to create a strand of senjutsu chakra. As he started circulating the strand of senjutsu chakra along the pathways his byakugan created a sucking force and absorbed the strand of senjutsu. 

Hezel felt a refreshing feeling in his eyes and noticed that their abilities were becoming stronger.

Excited, he started absorbing more natural energy to create more strands to feed his eyes. But he didn't take into consideration the difficulty of merging more natural energy strands into senjutsu chakra. If it were only this it wouldn't be a problem.

The fact was that he didn't have enough chakra to suppress the natural energy while he converted it. This caused a chain reaction where more natural energy than intended entered his body and everything started going out of control.

(Hezel): 'Shit, I am in danger now! I need more chakra to suppress the senjutsu chakra! Wait, I have an idea.'

Like so he decided to open the gates that he could open of the 8 Gates. As he did so a massive wave of chakra entered his system. Given that he originally had 20% of his body chakra and that opening 4 gates unlocked another 20% of it, he had doubled his chakra reserve. As he did so he was able to reign in the berserk natural energy in his body and safely create a dozen strands of senjutsu chakra.

With the passed hurdle, Hezel threw a sigh of relief. *Phew* 'That was scary I almost became stone there.'

As he was berating himself he noticed that the senjutsu chakra was disappearing. He focused on what was happening and noticed that the strands of senjutsu chakra were entering the open 4 gates.

When the process was open he felt that the gates were a part of himself and that the chakra within them was at his disposal. His physical abilities had also increased severalfold, in particular, his speed and endurance.

(Hezel): 'A pity. I have read that the 5th gate increases mostly the user strength. Oh well, you can't have everything from life.'

What Hezel still didn't know was that there were even more benefits from this transformation.
