Chapter 122: The perks of walking with nature
"Very nice." Bian said in awe. The four haert chambers had four white pills in them. Opening one chamber released a magnificent scent which drew the attention of everyone on the walking shelter.
"I've never seen anything like it, but its smell is irresistible." Love Spirit said.
"It should be a tonic for creatures, humans and spirits. Taking it when you're about to evolve will significantly increase your chances of walking through the ten holy steps." Faith spirit added.
"It seems more powerful than that." Hope Spirit chimed in. Watching everyone turn to her, she explained.
"It has a lot of energy, yet it releases such a mellow fragrance. It definately isn't something normal."
"A lot of energy you say..." Bian pondered for a while before coming to a decision. His hunt had greatly increased his super gene tally but dropped no flesh for the Strength Overlord to consume.
The energy of the pills from the heart of the sea might be just what the Strength Overlord needs to evolve. He would also have to think of a reasonable name to call the Strength Overlord after it evolved.
With a signal, all the spirits exited from the hall leaving Bian with the Strength Overlord. He brought out a white pill from the upper left chamber of the heart.
A magical scent filled the air and Bian was suddenly tempted to consume the pill.
"Very strong!" He was surprised that the pill could make his mind falter, even if it was only for a moment.
'No need to rush, three pills are remaining.' Bian reminded himself as he gave the pill to the Strength Overlord who showed a great desire for it.
Gulp!
After swallowing the little pellet, the Strength Overlord trembled a bit and grew in size. It looked at the crystal heart in Bian's hand, it's eyes shining with great desire.
Cough*
Bian almost spat out a mouthfull of blood. The Strength Overlord might be a berserk super creature, but isn't it a bit absurd that it only feeds on super creatures and even one of this miraculous pills wasn't enough to begin it's transformation.
With gritted teeth Bian took out another white pill from the upper right chamber of the heart. He gave it to the Strength Overlord, certain it would contain enough energy for it.
Gulp!
The Strength Overlord grew again, it's body kept trembling. It still looked towards the last two pills with great desire.
Bian was livid, a surge of repressed emotions surfaced in his heart. He hurriedly handed the Strength Overlord a white pill from the lower left chamber before his reason kicked in, afraid he might loathe the gluttony of the Strength Overlord.
It held the pill in a pinch, then squeezed down a little splitting the pill in half. The Strength Overlord sensed Bian's state of mind and only took half of the third pill.
It knew the exact amount of energy it needed to evolve. Bian looked towards the Strength Overlord, appreciating it's considerate actions.
Gulp!
Immediately it swallowed half the white pill, wisps of black smoke fumed out and formed a black cocoon in an instant.
The black cocoon, which had trapped the other half of the white pill, shot into his sea of soul.
Bian was left speechless, he peeked into his sea soul to see the black cocoon wriggling as it forcefully ejected the half-broken white pill. The different creatures all seemed restless in an instant.
Various creatures rushed towards the half-broken white pill but super creatures were obviously the fastest.
Among the super creatures Bian had, the Ink Sun Dragon would have reached it first had it been in his sea soul.
The fastest non-berserk super creature was the Radiant Reaper which zoomed like a laser and swallowed the half-broken white pill.
The Radiant Reaper was an anglar fish of sorts whose beast soul was a weapon add-on. Immediately it swallowed the half-broken white pill, a bright flaming cocoon enveloped it.
Witnessing this scene allowed Bian to know just how much energy the white pill contained. Just half of it was enough for a super creature to start its evolution.
"The Strength Overlord is something else." Bian laughed heartily. He considered the last pill in the crystal heart for a moment before he gave the crystal heart to the white serpent to safeguard in its stomach.
He would decide what to do with it at a later date.
The rite of passage removed all restrictions and allowed safe travels through all body of water. The golden trident meanwhile allowed the manipulation of water to an absurd level.
Bian found out that using both relics at once allowed him to manipulate the distance of his travels under water. It was like how a wormhole manipulated space to shorten travel distance, the same principle was being applied but with water.
He didn't know where the energy came from for such a feat but it was welcomed. The wandering shelter moved towards one of the points on the compass faster than ever before.
In just a week, the uneven sea bed began to slop upwards. The walking shelter finally resurfaced on land.
"Ah, the smell of dirt and grass! Way better than fish and seaweed." Bian smiled. Since he was about to meet up with his friends, he figured he should act like he used to, until he could find a way to deactivate the soul pillar.
"This is amazing, it's finally back!" Hope Spirit chimed. The shelter shook, then slowly faded away. It had turned invisible.
"Hmm, I thought it could only turn invisible in No Man's Forest?"
"I thought so too, but the function was suddenly enabled as soon as we entered this area.
I guess it's situational and only activates near selected areas or terrains like forests."
Now that the walking shelter had turned invisible again, Bian no longer needed to worry about frequent attacks. This meant he could finally head back to the alliance.
Spirits that had been conquered could use beast souls just like normal humans. Although all three spirits were just knights, the equivalent of Primitive creatures, Bian had to entrust them with some beast souls.
The Strength Overlord was evolving, while the Ink Sun Dragon could not attack by itself, it wasn't a pet beast soul but rather a unique weapon beast soul.
Bian entrusted the spirits with some sacred-blood beast souls. He favoured Hope Spirit, gifting her some super beast souls including the armor beast soul he got from killing the blue crab and till he returned, the Ink Sun Dragon.
"I will be back!" Bian said goodbye briefly, then headed to the teleporter.
...
Back in the alliance.
On an invisible space craft circling round a planet for an unknown amount of time. The teleporter within came to life and a young man with smooth pearly skin and raven black hair popped out.
"Don't have much time to spend here, exploring the planet shouldn't be too difficult with my current fitness."
Thanks to his espionage in the ocean, Bian's super gene points had skyrocketed to 55 points. He only needed 45 more till he was ready to evolve.
Later he would need to make out time to train, opening more gene locks to match his fitness.
Bian descended into the crystalliser planet. The unicorn beetle in his pocket began to act weirdly, it's skin became transparent and the inner workings which were quite similar to those of a watch became visible.
As he approached the planet, the gears within began to spin faster and faster.
When he reached the planet, it only took him a brief amount time to identify the pathway he needed to follow.
Sure enough, this pathway had the same design as the unicorn beetle. It also had gears which were spinning constantly.
Feeling an intense burning sensation from his pocket, Bian reached into it to grab the unicorn beetle.
"Hmm..." he felt a stinging pain and slowly retrieved his finger. A small red spot was visible for just a moment, but it vanished before the injury could even bleed.
"As expected of the unicorn beetle, it easily penetrated my skin."
After praising the unicorn beetle, Bian took in the sight around him. Utterly empty and devoid of all life. The crystallisers have long been wiped out and their planets remain too dangerous to be inhabited.
No sane person would come here as even demigods couldn't easily handle the defense of the crystallisers. Not to mention the special door which looked like a roulette board wouldn't allow beings with a fitness of a demigod into the inner structures.
"That's enough sightseeing, I don't have all day."
Bian was in a hurry so he stepped into the door, ready to face whatever challange lay ahead of him.
