Chapter 115: Scary Foe
Four days and nothing changed. Reinforcement would come, change strategies, use new equipment, maintain shura change.
"Even though, they all ended up dead the next morning. The drones and camera couldn't pick up anything unusual as though they were killed by ghosts flying in the air." One soldier said.
"If the ghosts were brazenly flying in the air the infrared and spectrometer would definately sense them." Another soldier with a scar on his face said.
He took a big gulp of a mysterious black liquid before adding. "The ghosts are definately moving underground to avoid detection."
"Moving underground? You're spouting nonsense." The first soldier retorted.
Bian smiled coldly while eavesdropping their conversation. Scarface was right, he was that ghost who was moving underground to avoid detection.
Added with the use of the dongxuan aura which would obscure his presence, he couldn't be seen at all in the night, even with special equipment.
As usual, more shura reinforcement arrived. There was even a warfare, which was quite unusual as Shura did not typically use such devices.
'It's finally time.'
Bian's mind performed several stone cold calculations on how to kill the Executioner. He only did this to test her powers though.
He wrote down three methods he could use to attack her.
1. Directly approach under stealth and strike.
2. Use Terraslip and attack from below the earth.
3. Blind foe using the dongxuan aura (not recommended)
Bian wrote this by the side. If he ever had to use the third means, then he would immediately retreat from this planet.
At night several supervisors made sure all the warriors were either asleep or watching after the base.
After five days, it was finally Bian's turn to stand watch during the night. This made sneaking away somewhat difficult as he was partnered with scarface who would report his absence.
'Coerce or Coax.' Bian's mind was very calm right now. He was even considering killing scarface to continue his probing.
Having studied every warrior which dared come here, Bian knew Scarface was very interested in money. He chose to try Coaxing him, before resulting to more drastic means. Scarface was still just an evolved, no match for him at all.
"Brother, I have some hobbies I need to fulfil. Would you mind standing guard alone tonight?" Bian spoke cheerfully, in a manner that was easygoing and thus easy to approach.
"So you've been screwing about with those female soldiers. Well its not my business, just wait till tomorrow." Scarface calmly replied.
"Please brother, I can make it worth your time." Bian raised up two fingers.
"Even though, I might get in trouble." Scarface seemed to be in a dilemma. Twenty thousand wasn't that huge an amount, but that changed if he could earn it by doing nothing.
"I won't take too much time." Bian raised up one more finger.
Scarface immediately agreed. Where else would he find someone willing to throw away thirty thousand just for some fun.
As Bian walked away from Scarface, the smile on his face faded to coldness.
He was right.
Someone like Scarface wouldn't even flinch at torture and would be pissed if bossed around. Yet simple persuasion and bribery had worked.
By making him feel that he had the upper hand, Bian had guided him down the path he prepared. These change in output based on the input, he would definately need it later.
According to his attack patterns. He would strike the mine up ahead first.
Bian quietly snuck through the shelter, avoiding those extremely sensitive sensors as he got closer to the mine entrance.
Boom!
A tactical land mine went off. He was surprised it wasn't sensed by the Dongxuan Aura.
The blast from the landmine was not huge, but compressed and devastating. Bian felt some pain coming from the base of his feet.
'So this is what the front lines is like. One cannot rely on strength alone but must work with technology.'
The landmine would have seriously injured others, but it just left him with a stinging pain.
He saw a pair of green shining eyes in the distance. A person operating the warfare was watching him from afar.
"Kill"
Bian slipped into the ground, approaching the figure~Executioner Green at frightening speed.
Unexpectedly, he was met with an unforseen trap.
Dozens of land mines were deposited and perfectly hidden in the ground.
From a strategic point of view it was absolute nonsense. Mines so deep underground wouldn't be triggered even if a heavy vehicle passed the soil on top.
But for this moment, it couldn't be any less devastating. It was a move made perfect just to counter him, who could move through the ground.
BOOM!
From the moment Bian triggered the bomb, to when it went off those several thoughts had gone round his mind.
He used the full Jade Body at the last instant, managing to come out of the blast unscathed. His clothes was in tatters, but physically he was fine.
"Is that all? How boring." A feminine voice said lazily, a clear attempt to taunt him.
From that voice alone several thoughts had already formed in Bian's heart.
Two of his battle plans had been sabotaged. The enemy knew where he was and also about terraslip. These were the number one and two on his list of moves he would show them.
Without another moment hesitation, Bian ran back towards the base. Once he used the third move, he would surely die in the hands of this scary Executioner.
"Two of my attack patterns, two counter attacks. Is this my third time facing her? Was she too slow to respond to my attacks so she instead planted bombs to deal with me?" Bian had several questions yet no answers. The most reasonable conclusion was she was testing the water, just like him.
"You're back so soon. If you're in need, I can recommend some geno art to aid your stamina, just for a little price.' Scarface spoke up seeing Bian return so soon.
He was shocked when he saw Bian's clothes were in tatters and was about to tease him when he gazed at his face.
Heuok!
Scarface nearly choked on his own saliva. That smile! That maniacal smile containing, bloodlust and cold calculating madness.
He felt that what he saw wasn't a person but a cold blooded machine with no morals hell bent on achieving its objective.
"This guy isn't good news." He muttered under his breath.
Bian had his expression change back to normal. After putting on some new uniform, he performed the rest of his task diligently while slightly apprehensive of the Executioner on the planet.
'Has she already attacked and restarted the day? Was she planning a way to counter all his moves and ways of escaping?'
Bian had several worries but zero regret. He already knew about Executioner Green's several time clones, so he was sure she would visit this planet once he disturbed it enough.
The amount of information he had gained was life changing. Like the fact that he would always experience current time, while his opponent had probably already fought him several times over.
This was a scary thought, to be stuck in a time loop completely unaware. Luckily he dispersed those thoughts with some more facts.
The fact that he was consciously thinking right now meant Executioner Green had not reset the day. This implied that it wasn't easy for her to reset the day, a strict condition would be in place.
'Its probably like in the movies, meaning she needs to die to return.' Bian summarised.
The Hyperactivity of the Soul Pillar came at the best possible moment. Without it Bian wouldn't have gained so much insight from a single battle.
Still he was disturbed, knowing such a harrowing opponent was on the same planet as him. He used his influence to board the next available ship, getting away from this scary foe.
...
"Trying to run?" Raikas smirked devishly, looking at the spaceship on the human side. He was a peak third rank shura when he snuck on this planet and after some resources, he recently advanced to the fourth rank.
A fourth rank shura was equal to a demigod, a walking calamity. He wouldn't allow a single human to escape, especially after they slaughtered so much of his kind on this planet.
"Don't even think about it." A man in all black appeared by Raikas. He appeared just in time to stop him from attacking the human space ship.
"Who are you to command me!" Raikas yelled in anger. The mere thought that a human was giving him orders, does he look like those dogs who follow that woman.
Cautious that someone had appeared by his side without his notice, his muscles ballooned to twice the original size. His already large and muscular frame got even bigger. His golden horns, shining like two bright suns.
Shura change of a fourth ranked, golden horned shura. Even though he just advanced, his strength was no joke.
And yet.
The last thing Raikas saw were a pair of golden vertical pupils.
Executioner Black stood beside a headless body. The glow in his eyes slowly faded, covered up by his dark glasses.
"You better succeed Bian." He gazed at the spaceship leaving the planet, then in a blink he was gone. A head with golden horns fell on the ground where he previously stood.
...
Bian had to inform the group working on his ship to send it to a new location.
After two days of space travel, he arrived at another planet where his space ship was already waiting for him.
"To be absolutely prepared for anything, I need to activate the beetle as soon as possible."
Once Bian activated the beetle technology of the crystallisers. His life and safety would be more secured in the alliance.
