Rebirth Counterattack: I Heard That the Imperial Marshal Has a Crush on Me

Chapter 181

Chu Muxi followed Lu Junzhi directly to the third floor. When they arrived at a bedroom door, Lu Junzhi opened it and led him inside.

The furnishings were very simple, but it was clear that the room had been lived in for a long time.

It wasn’t like the house on Caesar’s Star before—it felt deserted and rarely visited, unlike this one.

Chu Muxi sat down on the sofa while Lu Junzhi took off his coat and hung it on the hanger.

Chu Muxi glanced around. There were very few items in the room: a sofa, a set of cabinets, a bed, and a desk.

It looked more like a single dormitory than a bedroom.

He estimated that the single dormitories at Imperial University were more luxurious than this.

“Are you thirsty? What do you want to drink?” Lu Junzhi asked.

Chu Muxi blurted out, “Wine!”

As he thought about entering the confession stage soon, Chu Muxi figured it would be better to drink some wine to build up his courage.

Lu Junzhi paused when he opened the refrigerator and said, somewhat amused, “There’s no wine. Pick something else. How about milk?”

“No, how old am I to still be drinking milk?” Chu Muxi immediately retorted, thinking it would be ridiculous to confess after drinking milk.

Lu Junzhi looked back at him, “How about juice?” Actually, after he said it, he remembered that he didn’t even have milk—only a bottle of juice that Zhou Xu had brought over earlier.

Lu Junzhi took out the juice, found a cup, opened the bottle, and poured it.

Chu Muxi sat on the sofa, but he was feeling a bit restless, tapping his fingers on the fabric.

Lu Junzhi came over and placed the juice on the coffee table. “Drink this. Zhou Xu brought it over.”

Chu Muxi looked from him to the glass of juice.

Lu Junzhi asked, puzzled, “What’s wrong?”

Then he watched as Chu Muxi closed his eyes, grabbed the glass, tilted his head back, and drank it all in one go. He then placed the cup down heavily on the coffee table.

With a clang, Lu Junzhi raised his eyebrows and calmly said, “Why are you drinking so fast? Slow down, be careful not to choke. Want another?”

Chu Muxi stared at him. He couldn’t see any signs of emotion in Lu Junzhi—it seemed the other party truly hadn’t noticed anything strange about him.

“Lu Junzhi, I have something to tell you,” Chu Muxi said seriously.

Lu Junzhi nodded seriously too. “Okay, go ahead. I’m listening.”

Chu Muxi swallowed. The words came to his lips several times, but he just didn’t know how to say them.

Lu Junzhi didn’t rush him. He just sat there quietly, watching him with gentle eyes, patiently waiting until Chu Muxi was ready to speak.

Under those gentle eyes, Chu Muxi gradually calmed down.

“Lu Junzhi…” Chu Muxi began softly.

Lu Junzhi responded gently, “I’m here.”

Chu Muxi grabbed his wrist and squeezed it tightly.

Lu Junzhi didn’t move, letting him hold on.

“I—” Chu Muxi looked at him, opened his mouth, and grew frustrated when the words wouldn’t come.

Seeing his nervousness, Lu Junzhi covered his hand and patted it gently. “It’s okay. Say whatever you want. Don’t worry about anything. Whatever you say, I’ll believe you.”

Chu Muxi took a deep breath. “Yeah.” He held onto Lu Junzhi’s wrist tightly. “I want to say… I… I… I’ve been reborn! I’ve died once! And in my previous life, I didn’t live this long. I only made it to adulthood before I died—”

But before he could finish, Lu Junzhi lowered his head and silenced him with a kiss.

“Don’t say that word.”
