Chapter 179
The rail car had sent them outside the passage. Tern boarded the aircraft first and piloted it to take Lu Junzhi and Chu Muxi back to rest.
Chu Muxi and Lu Junzhi got on the aircraft and sat down.
After receiving instructions from Lu Junzhi, Tern left in the aircraft.
Chu Muxi was lost in thought, planning to tell Lu Junzhi everything he needed to say later.
Including his rebirth. The thought made him a little nervous.
Chu Muxi kept stealing glances at Lu Junzhi while making plans in his mind.
He wondered what Lu Junzhi would think of him when the time came.
Lu Junzhi touched his head and spoke in a deep voice, “You are thinking loudly again. What are you thinking about?”
Chu Muxi huffed and took Lu Junzhi’s hand off his head. “Don’t hold my head down. They say I won’t grow taller like that.”
Lu Junzhi looked at him, “You’re not short.”
“I could still grow taller. Maybe I’ll even be taller than you one day,” Chu Muxi said with a hum.
He imagined himself towering over Lu Junzhi and couldn’t help but laugh.
Lu Junzhi interrupted his thoughts with a sigh, “No.”
Chu Muxi glared at him. “How do you know?”
Lu Junzhi smiled and simply straightened Chu Muxi’s collar. “When we get back, take a shower and change clothes first.”
“I know,” Chu Muxi said as he glanced down at the oil stains on his clothes. “Even though my clothes are dirty, I’m quite happy.”
He felt proud. He had been able to do what he wanted and do it better than he expected.
“You are very skilled,” Lu Junzhi said sincerely. “Gavin really cares about all the mechas.” After a pause, Lu Junzhi added another bit of knowledge for Chu Muxi.
When Chu Muxi had first met Gavin, he wasn’t familiar with him. Gavin seemed easy-going, but in truth, he was incredibly hard to get along with.
He often appeared superficial and could be easy to talk to when there was no conflict.
But in his heart, he wouldn’t think much about others.
He cared deeply about all the mechas at the base. In his words, except for Chunjun, all the other mechas were like his children.
Any mecha taken from him had to be treated with utmost sincerity, or he would make things difficult for them.
He was even stricter with the maintenance technicians on his team.
Let alone asking an outsider to repair a mecha.
Yet, he had actually agreed to let Chu Muxi give it a try. In this regard, Gavin’s attitude toward Chu Muxi was very unusual.
Chu Muxi belatedly asked, “What if I had offered to help but then failed?”
Lu Junzhi thought for a moment. “He might have fought you.”
“Isn’t he a technician? He can fight?” Chu Muxi asked doubtfully. In his mind, technicians were generally physically weak, even though they had high IQs.
“Gavin isn’t just a mecha maintainer; he’s also the captain of the Second Fleet,” Lu Junzhi said.
Chu Muxi was stunned. “Is he really that powerful?” After recalling Gavin’s lean figure, he couldn’t imagine him fighting anyone.
Tern suddenly interrupted, “Boss, Young Master Chu, we’re here.”
“Is this where you live? But, where’s the entrance? I don’t see anything.”
Chu Muxi looked outside and saw nothing but a vast desert in front of him.
